I rarely watch and comment on videos based on other people's lives, I prefer to live my own. But your journey to Kyoto and your love of bonsai are incredible things and witnessing them really gives me pleasure. Your family can be proud of the journey and the work done. Truly, congratulations.

It is extremely inspiring to watch this journey of yours. The lessons that lay within our chosen paths, passions and professions are worthless if we don’t apply them. The concept that growth is born of discomfort is a lesson that lives within bonsai and it is beautiful to see you live the lesson. Thank you for the inspiration.

Was very sad to see the previous video series about relocating was removed from your page! I watched it with my architect / sakura-loving girlfriend who was fascinated by the bid process and traditional approach. We were really looking forward to the next episode. Nice that you're continuing the story this way

I was told this was happening about a week ago. It shows that mass tourism isn’t always good for a community. I want to come back again. I feel all tourists should follow customs of the country they are in. Courtesy and politeness is the way to go. Respect is everything

I wish you well Bjorn. You once had repeated to me, in several of your videos when you had arrived in Tennessee, a lesson I had learned in hula. That lesson that my kumu hula taught me was that, when performing your art, you should use what material you have at hand. It was in Michgan that I discovered you on RU-vid. You inspired me to try my hand at bonsai. There in Michigan I used the white pine, the tamarack, the balsam fir and the various spruces of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to make bonsai. Now I have moved back to Hawaiʻi where my interest in bonsai was established by the local Japanese influnce here. Here I can now use the Japanese Black Pine and various junipers and other conifers that thrive in Hawaiʻi's climate to make bonsai. I hope to watch your progress there in Kyoto. May the four guardians of that sacred city shower you with their benevolance. Aloha.

The production value of your videos has always been incredibly high - but this new "season" that is your return to Japan and the restart of something incredible and a surely challenging but hopefully even more rewarding new chapter of your life is just out of this world... I cant get my head around how you find the time to build a new home, tackle japanese paperwork, care for your family, build a new thriving business and just on a sidenote create these fantastic Videos that look like a AAA documentation... I thank you so much for sharing this incredible story that is your life and I wish you all the best - Hope to be able to visit your nursery next time I am in Japan 😉 And just by the way - thanks for also getting me "addicted" to bonsai a few years ago with your videos ❤

I couldn’t think of a better place than Kyoto to practice bonsai, maybe except for Omiya. The traditional feel of Kyoto will come thru in your creations. Please do some old ume bonsai. I think they’re the most beautiful when flowering to have the old craggily trucks with the dainty flowers. Excited to see what lays in store for you and your family.

Very excited for you in this new chapter. I saw your last video just before visiting Japan for the first time, and I must agree that Kyoto is the most beautiful place I can imagine. To anyone else thinking about visiting make sure to do lots of research and be as respectful of the culture as you can so you don’t end up like the some of the buffoons shown in the tv clips. To put it in context for Americans: where we value freedom over all else, Japanese people value respect, so its important to honor that, even more so than a local would

It DID peak in the 1980's to 1990's. Their economy is now close to free-fall, stuck in one of the worst debt spirals in the world. And now they are resigned to allow records levels of immigration in an attempt to stop their population collapse, which will dilute their culture and heritage. This is one of the biggest losses to the world of our generation. Japan is one of the most beautiful countries and cultures that have ever existed, and it will be a shadow of its former self in less than 20 years.
