*Low Earth orbit* *2047* (L .C. K) Lieutenant Turin, your objectives are as follows: Protect the Mike Charlie Victor during the insertion phase; Secure a foothold on the other side of the chasm; Assist in the destruction of the Papa Golfs; The orbital insertion systems have been repaired and are working with 83,07% efficiency(compared to "pre war" performance). You are expected to have a smooth descent, however,if you encounter unexpected weather patterns during today's operation,we would encourage manual guidance. Any questions? (L.T) Yes Sir.What air support can we expect to have during this operation? (L .C. K) As much as is needed! But(and this is a big but),you need to take out those Batteries on the other side of the chasm. Command wants the "Tango" to be taken down as soon as possible but we can ill afford to jeopardize anymore of our pilots(or craft). Is that understood? (L .T) Yes it is,Sir! (L . C . K) Then you may proceed with the operation! Kurtz out! (L.T) Zulus, listen up! The insertion has received the go ahead. I want everyone to doublecheck and triplecheck their equipment. Once we get down there,be on your guard,as we expect both Nod and the aliens to be in the AO. Do not bunch up and watch each other's back's. Any questions? (Z . 3.1) Sir! Is it possible to kick Zulu 2 over to the next pod? They have brown pant's syndrome and it's making me sick. (Z . 2.2) Shut the hell up! (L .T) I think the smell is coming from your nose, private! Your praise for Zulu 1's men, yesterday,is starting to make me question if you're a man's man. (Z . 3.1) Only on Tuesdays,Sir! (L .T) Then we should definitely postpone the operation. Today is a tuesday! (Z . 2.3) Oh look at him blushing ahahah (Z . 3.3) Yeah! Busted! (Z . 1.4) Do me a favor:don't watch my ass ahahah. (L .T) Alright ,settle down boys! Here's the distribution: Zulus 1 through 3 to the first pod,Zulus 4 through 6 to the second pod and Zulus 7 through 9 to the third pod. Let's shut this party down, people!
8:28 Oh lord, those Devastator Warship sound effects hit me on a primal level. Went from chilling to the eerie, lifeless calm of the Red Zones to "FIREHAWKS! Anti-air loadout! Go GO!"
While I do strive for lore accuracy in all of my ambiences, the reality is that,in-game,neither of those AA batteries would have touched the Dev warship. Those Firehawks would have been very much needed 😅
