I think it was a reference to Harvey Proctor. He was convicted in the 1980s for having sex with underage men. The age of consent for gay sex then was 21. Nowadays, the age has been equalised, and he would not have committed an offence.

@@th8257 it is widely known that pedophilia is rampant among the political elite. I think his comment extends to all those engaged in pedophilia who have had thier necks saved by thier powerful friends to the detriment of thier victims all for the rather trivial excuse of saving political face. The public only ever finds out once the perpetrator dies. Case in point, Cyril Smith.

Yes, I heard that and I thought it was utterly extraordinary. To think such also so unremarkable to mention it almost in passing in a media interview. Incredible. That and the rampant sexism, really struck me.

an act of kindness is covering up a "scandal involving small boys"? keep in mind these people are repressing your freedom of speech.
@tartanhandbag
@tartanhandbag 2 года назад
of course, that's why your message was send from a Gulag, lol. it's got nothing to do with freedom of speech, which, contrary to the belief of a few nitwits, is not being repressed. access to media and the democratisation of it, or rather, the means by which voices are amplified and how the institutions that control that process are organised and controlled, is more to the point.

What this says, with the full support of the various whips, is that the reports of endemic child abuse being covered up, which most of us thought was impossible, was the norm. The way they smile when mentioning the 'little black book' says it all. It seems that every whip is in on it. They must have known of the abuse of children, and other behaviour.
@yilesse

Harvey Yates I find it very telling that the second most likely thing for a Tory MP to need the whips to help cover up is 'scandals with small boys'. How did that comment fly under the radar? This documentary should have opened the VIP paedophile can of worms but no, business as usual even though we have Tim Fortescue on film admitting that Tory whips and MPs have covered up abusing underage boys. And really? Small kindnesses? Helping someone get away with abuse is a kindness in his view? Uuuuuuurgh.
@WritewheelUK
@WritewheelUK 9 лет назад
yilesse Thanks for the reply. It would appear that this is not limited to the tories. labour were in on it and we all know about the liberal MP Smith who was allowed to continue with his offences, and offensive behaviour, despite it being well-known amongst his colleagues.
@yilesse
@yilesse 9 лет назад
Oh yes, it's all of them, My comment was about Tories because it was a Tory whip, I didn't mean to imply only they were involved with the abuse. I just find it amazing that this was said explicitly said on film, presumably was broadcast on national television and nothing was done about it. It seems to have been treated the same as the 'rumours' about Jimmy Saville, everyone knew about them but no one lifted a finger to stop him. It makes me so angry.
@littlebigbrain
@littlebigbrain 7 лет назад
The real point is there is only evidence the Tories organised it through their Whips office in Parliament. Fortesque's comment is most revealing in this matter.

I agree it's totally, utterly, unacceptable... but if this line of inquiry is headed towards "the establishment are a massive pedophile ring" then I'm out. The context comes nowhere near to excusing or mitigating child molestation, nor does it make it less of a scandal that such things go on, but the context does show that even (!) among politicians, this sort of admission would be impossible to make outside of the confidence of the whip's office. A low bar, I know, but as I said, I detest the fear-mongering populism that simplifies problems with the political culture to "they're a bunch of pedos!" What's more, we know that such things go on in virtually all institutions: the church, in schools, boy scouts and so on and so on.

That is ironic at 57.00 with that comment about Norman Lamont by that whip David Lightbown "die in the grass", as Lightbown died at the end of that year.
@curt3494

If a member found himself in the thick of a scandal involving small boys, the whip's office would 'help out'? So they would help to cover it up via various means, including blackmail? These disgusting pieces of shit think that a politician's reputation is more important than the safety of children. These are the people that make the laws that the rest of us are forced to follow.

It is all about keeping the good name of their party, nothing to do with the MP involved. The chief whip is tasked to ensure no public image of the party is tainted, and they will use whatever measure they can to ensure that happens. It is called politics. Sorry.

I think democracy would work better if MPs would vote according to their own conscience, as opposed to the party policy. The whip makes damage, to my mind.
@leserpentvert3364
@leserpentvert3364 Год назад
I’m afraid the only result would be hopeless instability; Whips keep their MPs adhering to party policy, without which a party would not be able to pursue the policies in its manifesto, making political parties virtually powerless. You could then argue that we should just have independent MPs, and while I think that would increase political awareness among the public by necessity, since we’d have to scrutinise our local MPs and their positions instead of broader left/right divisions, we’d have very little coherent strategy on international affairs, and MPs would just feed parasitically from short-term swings in public opinion. That’s my 10p, anyway you can make up your own mind
@martonk
@martonk Год назад
@@leserpentvert3364 yeah you're probably right. Also, individual politicians would rpobably not have enough funds to campaign successfully. Without the financial support from the party the only people who would be successful in politics would be the ones with already a lot of money, and that's not ideal.

After I watched the interviews with these abused children (before the videos were deleted) when the exposure of a paedophile ring in Hampshire, near London, was in action, about 10 years ago, and I learned about the weird ceremonies, and the way women were dressed, teaching these children how to "behave" when in the presence of lusty adult men, I felt sick to my stomach. I've even met 2 people who grew up in a Satanic cult family, with a father who was head of the gang. Their stories were heart breaking, and they managed to live on, far away from their family, in need of much healing. Now, on the first day of 2023, evidence of child abuse is disclosed so much more. Remember Prince Andrews? The American border near Mexico, is now open again, and child-and-drug trafficking has increased enormously. It's why President Trump planned to build that wall, you see? He's not involved in the dark shadowy world of an elite that allows itself certain privileges at the cost of others.
