Dude, I'm American, I've lived in Beersheva for 14 years, and I've literally never seen half of the places you went here. But it was fun to learn about the rest of the city.
In 87 I hitchhiked from Haifa to Eilat and the truck driver dropped me in Beersheva in the middle of a massive sand storm🙄🤣it sure has changed since then👍👍
*Walk into a restaurant anywhere else in the world * Owner :”hello, welcome “. *Walk into a restaurant in Israel * Owner : “ what do you want ?!! Why did you come so late , nothing is left ?!!!!!”.
I love "Bèrches-du-Désert"! The friendliest city in Israel actually has a small-town vibe to it, even though its residents are immigrants and their descendants from all over the World and the place is definitely multilingual. Many North-African Jews were first settled there starting in the Fifties, then Persians, Indians, Russians-speakers from the former USSR that actually represent very diverse groups, and of course, Ethiopians. Beer-Sheva is where much of the (organic-synthetic) chemical industry the Israeli economy lives off is located. In the early morning, there's a distinct smell of Bromine in the air. Most of the heavy and nasty stuff is actually located further West in Ramat-Hovav, a place I've nicknamed NIMBY-Germany... The town's location bang in the middle of the Asia-Africa land bridge pretty much ensures it has a great future, if hopefully, said future turns out to be a peaceful one. Ben-Gurion University is indeed a rather prestigious one, although I remain furious at them for their Med School not accepting First Daughter. She's okay though, HUJ did. Beer-Sheva used to be a military town in pretty much the same way Metz in Northeastern France once was, but Southern Command recently moved its business to modern facilities further South, and large, demilitarized areas around the city have been reclaimed by Nature. Springtime in that 200-250 mm band of yearly precipitations is absolutely fascinating!
Love your videos Salukie! Have you ever been to Har Meggido in Northern Israel? It is where hundreds of millions of Christians think that Armageddon will happen and where the end of the world will begin. It is a HUGE Christian pilgrimage site in Israel that most Jewish people don't even know exists. I'm Jewish like you and therefore I've never been but I really think if you went there and interviewed some of the many many pilgrims there your video would get a TON of views and it would make for an engrossing video especially when seen through your eyes. It may be the most bizarre site in all of Israel....thanks for all of your awesome videos! It is also called Tel Meggido and just Meggido...
I live in America but my whole family lives in Be'er Sheva and I'm telling you that you skipped the good parts if you go southern Be'er Sheva in the Ramot area they have amazing food and stores. The best Shawarma is there.
The guy in the store, he’s a one-man Chamber of Commerce! Makes you want to come down there, but I live in Los Angeles, born and raised here, and it is paradise! The bear Sheva is on my list to visit when I get to Israel. And Meskeret Batya!
I studied in Beer Sheva and this video summarises the city perfectly. The old market, bus terminal, old blocs, dust & dirt, the University, and Humus Shel Tehina. Sweet. Are you gonna adopt the Mossiac frenzy of B&B? "Oh wow, Look at this Beer-Shevisky Mossiac! It has all the history of Beer-Sheva and its cultural connection to the old USSR on a single wall!"
Greetings from San Diego, California 🇺🇲 I think Israelis would probably enjoy San Diego. It's like Mediterranean of USA, with similar dry landscape 🔥🌲 Lots of influence from Spain, Italy, and even Tijuana, but with a classic American feel ⛪🚢 P.S. that outdoor flea market looks similar to a California 'Swap Meet' 😂 which get packed with people and vendors here on the weekends 👍
@@EE-mo8wy Interesting. Yes, I was wondering what the Israeli population was like here. I know there are many Chaldean people in El Cajon, and Persians in Rancho Bernardo which makes sense since there is less development and more natural landscape in Eastern, inland San Diego.
Hi bro we are neighbor 😂😂 I’m from Irvine City , Orange County, CA San Diego it’s like almost 1 hour driving towards you , Peace and love bro ❤ I’m Egyptian
Aw dude, don't make fun of your friend like that. He was obviously uncomfortable with the food jokes and grabbing. 🥺 He may pretend to laugh it off but it causes most people internal shame, which doesnt help.
I've love your video. The people of Israel enjoy modern life. Unfortunately, the people in Gaza no peaceful life. No modern life. The children have no future. I hope that with God's blessing, people of Palestine have a peaceful life and modern life like in Israel. Cheers❤
Ein "alte Sachen Markt". That's german, we also call them Trödelmarkt. Very interesting content on your channel, thanks for the deep inside perspectives of Israel.
4:20 is little funny cause she is like I've been here for 40 years and they still don't think I am Israeli. I totally feel the always considered Indian thing cause she has an Indian accent. The squint is golden :)
Long time ago we were living in Nahal Oz and our " big city near" was Beersheba, this 35 years ago, and there was quite nothing. Now we live in Haifa, metzuian, wonderful city...
I’m a new subscriber and I’ve watched six of your videos today! And I posted them to my Rosh Chodesh group! Have you guys heard of Nissim Black or Ari lesser they’re both rap artists! Nissim black is just fantastic, he’s American, Israeli, and Ari lesser. I think it’s from Cincinnati Ohio. They both have Content on RU-vid.
