Overwhelmed at how well you were able to articulate exactly how I've been feeling for years. I'm 26 and have no idea what I'm going to do "for a living" because I dont feel in any way motivated/inspired to pursue any traditional capitalist careers. I'm made to feel lazy because I want to spend my time in ways that feel meaningful to me. And I still have no idea how to balance this desire with being a "responsible adult." I'm happy I've found your journey.

One of the ways I connect with myself is through journaling. I journal with pen and paper. I have been journaling the details of my life since I was 8 years old. Now I am 35. I have never been accepted by people. I named my journal Bernardo and he is my best friend. The wonderful thing about Bernardo is that I have found acceptance within his pages. He is my safe haven, my free space, and my friend when no one else will listen.
I've watched probably 10+ of your videos, before I watched Story One. I think its great that you taken this step to try and find the you that you that you want to be. I'm 54, and I'm trying to find my way. Its later in life, but I've finally realized that I've always lived to my parents expectations, for education, for family responsibilities, , and for a career.. Having lost both my parents, and not having a current relationship, its just me going forward. I too have no idea where the future lies, but I'm excited about trying new things, and leaving much of the responsibility behind. The first thing I've realized is that I'm 30 years older than most of the people that inspire me to make the change. That just means I have less need to worry about the future.
You're never too old to change things! Also how we perceive time is very relative. When we are doing what we love and really present in the moment, it can feel like the time has stopped. I like to think that we all carry a longing for eternity and time is just temporary.

Same with me mate 45 and just me now.. spiritual awakening enlightenment journey for last 2 and a half years found meditation and likes of Dr. Wayne Dyer Deepak Chopra Alan Watts etc and it's changed my life after a career working in financial markets... I can really relate to you. I am 20 years old and i want to just get out there in the world and just live and not have to think about "when i'm going to come home and start a real life" because right now i'm working a job and i'm just waiting for my life to begin which is a sucky feeling when you could live your life everyday
I finally saw your number one video! And you said it best… All things that you were talking about really resonate with me. We have to find a way to pay our way through this life. It doesn’t always work doing the traditional work. I have been doing that my whole adult life. However, I still feel unfulfilled. Not that my work isn’t purposeful but there’s always a feeling of something missing. And I agree… Our purpose in this life is to love. So I put that love into all things that I do. Continuing to wish you all the luck in the world and all The motivation and strength to find your way and to feel fulfilled!
Absolutely, 'Love' - Love is the answer and always has been - Love scares people because you have to give up everything society has taught you or has tried to teach you. Fear is what keeps us from the 'simple' answer to complete or as near-complete harmony with our universe. Keep up the incredible self-discovery - you are amazing...

I really resonate with everything you said here! I guess the best way to meet between the real world and the world you want to see is to try and find a way to combine your purpose and passion with making money! Yoga teaching and RU-vid are of course great options, but there can be a struggle to make a sufficient income there! Keep shining your light though, we can get there!✨
I used to walk barefoot in my yard in Tennessee I had 5 inch tall zoysia grass and a basically organic lawn that I groomed for a while I know how good it feels to dig in with your toes. I applaud you in finding these answers so early in life you are clearly very special to this planet keep spreading the good vibes.

You really expressed so well what I've been feeling for years. I'm 27 now and back in my late high school and college days I used to party and drink a lot as well. Over the years I've tried really hard to work full time jobs that make me miserable because that's what I'm "supposed to do". My last job made me so unhappy that I basically shut down and was going through the motions with so little awareness and love for life. Covid was a blessing in disguise because when I lost my job, I started working online with clients that I enjoy working with. I'm still living at home, where I feel kind of stuck since I don't make much money yet, but I feel more like I'm on the right path than ever before. So thank you for sharing this story, because it really resonated with me. I love all your videos so much

I just discovered your channel/videos today and decided to back up to your first story. As I watched, your way of describing your journey and self-reflection resonated with my own thoughts and self-reflection during this quarantine. It's amazing for me to have gotten the space from people or society due to being forced to minimize where I go, what I buy or what I do, to realize a lot of it was taking up space, whether physically or emotionally/mentally. I just turned 30 and feel I've veered away from my early 20's ideal life or ideal environment for me to flourish in due to societal expectations or "weight" on my shoulders. I'm really, really glad that you're figuring this out now, or at least this past year. Thanks for sharing this and I hope you stay steady and content and happy. PS: if you like intentional spaces or communities, I learned a lot of what you talked about at Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. It's worth a trip someday and the people that I know and love that are still there are amazing and follow similar paths to what you're focused on. :)
I have seen many of your previous videos before I found this one and at 66 years old and only 14 years' sober, I have found you to be a very beautiful young lady with her head in such a great place for your age. Hi Isabel , I decided to try and watch your videos from the beginning and I'm glad that I did, because I really liked what you said in this first video...well said, and definitely food for thought. Also I agree that the purpose of life is to love. I hadnt really thought of it before but that makes the best sense! Once there is love, everything else falls into place more fittingly, is that a proper word? Lol, who cares? Now on to story 2...cant wait to hear the wisdom in that one oh wise one!!!

Wow. I finally caught the first story. Isabel, I am 60. I so much share what you felt at 21 when I was 21, but couldn't express it as eloquently as you were at 21. I felt struggles throughout my life, in my 20's and after raising two sons and almost an empty nester... it never stops, guess it really never does... the grueling cycle of it lol its gorgeous though. You picked a perfect time in your life before relationships and debt tied you down. You are young, beautiful, healthy and free. I truly envy you as I missed that chance in my life when I had it.
There's always time for change. Relationships that tie you down can be dropped even if it seems impossible - nothing is, especially when it comes to dropping burdensome relationships. Debt can be worked off in a few years by radically changing your lifestyle - or by waiting it out and in the meantime taking measures for a happier, free life by working on everything else - relationships, minimalism, connection to nature, purposeful art... My granny changed her life in a heartbeat twice in a few years by just making decisions and sticking with them, it's never too late once you stop giving a damn what is expected of you.
I completely understand what u wrote in the description about teaching yoga full time. I used to want to write and I'd write stories all the time till I started working as a writer (I write articles) and now, 3 years later, I absolutely hate writing. It's heartbreaking that something I loved so dearly is just gone.

Right now I am a college student and I’m also struggling with who society wants me to be versus what my soul truly wants. Everything you said in this video really hit home for me. I've been watching your videos for about a month and I just now thought I'd skim back to some of your older ones out of curiosity. Ahhh, finding this video after already following your channel for a little while is such a gift. As others have said, you perfectly articulate how I feel and have felt my whole life and I am 37! I spend so much of my time waiting, perhaps for some kind of permission to go out and live the life I really want to be living. And waiting around for it to happen just isn't cutting it - it doesn't bring you any closer, waiting. I realised recently that if I want to have the life I would like, I have to go and BEGIN, right now. So thank you for this beautiful video, and for your wisdom. Bless you. x

I am still struggling with exactly that and am 36.... consumerism and the way the world is feels a lien to me but yet I am expected to function in a world I do not understand or feel connected too! But knowing your true self helps lead your heart and we can only be who we are if we open our hearts and let somethings go x

Ok seriously we have a pretty similar life story, I’m feel like I’m looking at my future self(I’m 19) and waiting to start my full independent mindful life. I also was introduced to ashram lifestyle at a pretty young age.
i had such a similar awakening moment where the very concept of loving others, self, and this planet came to me as purpose. it was the beginning of my deconversion from christianity. a beautiful and powerful moment.
