Max Caulfield, photographer-in-residence at the prestigious Caledon University, discovers her closest new friend, Safi, dead in the snow. Murdered. To save her, Max tries to Rewind time - a power she’s not used in years… instead, Max opens the way to a parallel timeline where Safi is still alive, and still in danger! Max realizes the killer will soon strike again - in both versions of reality. Only Max can Shift between the two parallel timelines to solve and prevent the same murder.

After hearing Max's power sorta evolve? I started wandering maybe that both endings of the first life is strange is cannon? like obviously you can pick what ending you want and you get to see that outcome and you can see the choice you didn't pick I'm just making speculations I'm just hyped for this

I was thinking the same thing. LIS2 went to the effort to depict Arcadia Bay with both endings depending on your ending from the first game so why wouldn’t LIS4 make both outcomes cannon. I guess will see.

Someone in reddit said its possible this Max is not our Max. Time allows for this to happen. I can only imagine if they are going the extra step to essentially have Max universe jump, a multiverse exists and this is one of OUR MAX's past selfies who arrived to a similar future. The issue would then be finding a Max or some object, element that can jump the universes connecting the Max or Max's we care about. So ya both could be cannon and just maybe even crazier, you can rewrite others.

The devs said that BOTH endings were canon, years ago. And they drove that fact home with LiS2 where both endings are acknowledge. Dunno why people seem to think only one ending is canon. I blame the LiS subreddit for that false narrative.

Their reaction to this game is unsurprising. I'm already seeing posts claiming that this game is "homophobic" because it "erased Chloe". The insider that leaked the plot for this game perfectly, also predicted the return of Chloe in some capacity.

@@TatankaTaylor I hear ya man. It's very one sided over there. I just like to keep tabs on all LIS. I just mentioned it because I thought that may be a interesting angle and its it not entirely far fetched. Tho for them to come up with someone other reality where OUR Max lives just seems like a coping mechanism to further fantasize on their biased view or what the story should be. If anything, what this shows is how many fans, me included to a point live in the past with these characters. I think many expect this game to pick right up from the ending like seconds after and continue into a new game with Chloe. We've seen it with that Mod: After The Storm. I have my turn off already to this title but im still so excited to see what is coming.

a lot of the initial reactions from some of the more hardcore LiS fans are jumping the shark and already slamming it. I however, cannot be more excited to play as Max again!! I think people need to remember that Chloe being alive is determinant on your ending in LiS. there never was one true ending. I don't think that they'll completely leave her out, but ya'll have to know that it's gonna be limited. they can't just make a whole game's worth of content twice, one with her and one without. it'll have to be smaller nods and cameos that don't impact the main story or compromise the canon of there being 2 endings. if the fans were truly serious about wanting an actual sequel and not just a story that validates their fan fictions, then this has to be taken into consideration.

Doesn't make any sense to bring back Rachel. Its not like she was pals with Max. Deck Nine couldn't even tell Rachel's entire story in BtS, anyways. They left out how she hooked up with Frank and Nathan. And why she ghosted Chloe while she was at it. BtS needed a 5th episode to tell that story. (The bonus episode wasn't even about her).

you can go by order of release. it's an anthology of ordinary people with strange gifts, after all. 1. life is strange (max caulfield - time rewind, and chloe price) 2. before the storm (prequel of lis1, chloe price and rachel amber) 3. life is strange 2 (sean and daniel diaz, telekinesis) 4. life is strange: true colors (alex chen, empathy, and ryan + steph) 5. life is strange: double exposure (max caulfield, time rewind and timeline shifting) extra content: 1. life is strange 1 comics, a "what if" story of one of the two major endings. not necessarily canon, as the multiple timelines suggest anything can happen after lis1. 2. steph dlc for true colors 3. true colors comics

Its not more pointless than someone that selected the bay over bae ending buying the comics and seeing them focusing almost entirely on the other ending. Besides, the leaker that predicted the plot of this game correctly also predicted that Chloe would return in this game. I mean Max can jump between timelines. It doesn't take an Einstein to predict that she'll eventually visit Chloe.

@@TatankaTaylor I never got the comics because I had money trouble when they were coming out. I'm still having money trouble. I think part of it is thanks to the Clementine Book, so I am having little faith. Now, it is still the first trailer, and like you said Chloe could show up. With leakers, I don't trust them as some info they get wrong learned that with the RE3 remake and the new leaks for the Resident Evil games, so I will just wait. I will get this game well if nothing goes wrong.

Because it wasn't as good as the first half. So maybe the devs changed a lot of stuff. And added Chloe a lot more? We'll have to wait and see.

@@TheFirstEvil100 i can't find the link, but i read all the comics online for free a while back! if you do a little digging then you'll probably be able to as well. i will say, they're a really enjoyable read! highly recommend ^^
