well there is a reason Eddie was so huge at that time, if he was a jerk off camera he wouldn't have been. Pretty sure that talent at comedy and greatness didn't stop when the camera stopped.
I thought that was hilarious...😂 that seen was right after Eddie Murphy s character killed the new warden when he discovered he set him up...the watch was the key to scene.
@@DifferentFan0 It went by unnoticed when it came out in 1999. It was only once it went to home theatre that people realised what a quality production it was. It has not only aged very, very well, it is a far superior movie than anything similar that has been released since.
@@LockedDownSpectator Eddie Murphy made A LOT of bum choices with his career by '99. People overlooked this movie because of that. IMO, it's up there with Midnight Express and The Shawshank Redemption.
+Macmittens411 When "Life" was released in 1999 it received pretty average reviews and didn't make its budget back but I've always personally felt that if this movie came out more recently, "Life" would be received more favorably with today's moviegoing audience. Perhaps not critically but financially I think it would have faired much better today.
I've seen this movie, I can't even say how many times. It is so sad. I was watching it last month, and for the first time, I cried. Starting from where Biscuit died. As funny as this movie is, it it's heartbreaking at the same time. 62 years. Bomb ass soundtrack, too!!
🔴Just the part when they shot ole boy and when they all start dying and fading away with that sad song playing, other than that it was funny the whole time.
Absolutely brilliant movie. I watch this every so often and never get tired of it. Such a brilliant and touching story. Well cast with a great plot. Never watched a film that is so funny and so sad. Couldn't agree more, such an underrated movie.
Yeah it’s like amazing he never thought of doing standup or anything improv. Even like a weekend gig or something. I’m sure he’d get some national syndication or something.
@justinv6410 He left stand-up at the height of his game. It's a lot to live up to. He was unfiltered and fearless. Things have to be right and in comedic alignment if he returns.
"hey, this ain't my daddy's watch" 😂😂😂😂 Eddie was the best. in a movie with other comedic heavyweights, he stood out like he always does. definitely one of my idols growing up (Martin was too)
I bet they were acting an ASS on set!!!! Eddie Murphy, Martin lawerence, Bernie Mac, Anthony Anderson, I can't remember all their names. I know they were acting a donkey though lmao
That might be my favorite part of the Boom Boom Room bit. When he let out that loud laugh right after Ray was ordering Claude to get Worcestershire sauce
@Richard Fisher What??? Stay on topic, please. I have no idea what you're talking about. This thread is talking about Anthony Anderson and confirming he's in this movie.
Reminds me of Harlem nights with all that pure comic talent on one set. I can only imagine being able to be there during filming of either movie, constant laughter and joy. Classic comedies that are absolutely timeless and everyone should see them.
Because even though it was a comedy....alot of truth was behind the story because it happened to too many black men of that era...at least the ones that weren't just shot & killed or lynched
Martin is my favorite comedian and definitely a hilarious guy but it just shows how extremely and naturally funny Eddie Murphy is becuz he had Martin dying laughing!! Martin couldn't hold it together at 1:11-1:29 and he definitely couldn't get right at 1:37-2:28. 😂😂😂 Comedic genius!!
Watching these bloopers made me really understand why Eddie I the comedic giant that he is, he is in a movie alongside other comedic greats and he's just making them laugh fo days🤣by far one of my favourite bloopers of all times
"Claude Banks.... It's me Ray Gibson... We went to high school together... CLAUDEEEEE CLAUDEEEEE!!!"😂😂 -"One More again.. I'll take all your fronts out."😂 -"What's Wrong... The Mustache too Big?! 😂😂 🤣🤣All that come to my mind is - THE BLOOPER lines... Lolll
They've had a lot of fun working together. Eddie and Martin make an extraordinary team. Watching the bloopers was just as interesting as watching the movie. I love eddies laugh. Martin seems to be a very joyful person.
I don't see how any of the cast and extras made it through this film without serious stomach surgery. I wouldn't have made it! RIP Ted Demme, because this film was a gift to us all.
