Life Update: I QUIT my first nursing job.. let's chat 

I don’t like my job but I love what it provides for me and my family. This pandemic has people rethinking and working

@@dixonspeediarah8213 while I was still in service I planned towards early retirement, my first Income I do a normal 9-5, my second income I put it back to work to make more money because I'm not just after the money but the freedom to live on my terms Lol

@@svetlanalena3208 yeah and 9-5 cant give you the freedom you need. An extra income stream passive income is a great option keep it up

@@gracedaniels6172 yes I was able to make about 2/3k weekly as extra income from my Investing trying so much to build more side hustles and extra income

I get you so much girl! It’s so hard to truly grasp a unit until you’re a nurse on the unit. Clinicals as a student was always fun because we had no responsibility!

Hey girl! Last year was so difficult. I think it definitely put an extra strain on all of healthcare. Definitely thinking of where you could see yourself in love with your unit is HUGE. Think about all of your clinicals and which one made you excited & happy going into. 🤍

Recognize the warning signs and leave before you burn out. 1. If you’re regularly dreading your shift, it’s time to find a new job 2. There’s no shame in disliking patient care. If you feel this way, it’s time to leave. 3. If you’re being poisoned by a toxic environment, it’s time to leave 4. If you’re older (40-50s), don’t be afraid to give up your bedside skills for education or consulting. By this age, your knowledge is far more valuable. 5. Help cultivate kinder new nurses.

Our unit was also understaffed since many nurses left/were leaving. Because of that, the ratios are high esp at nights. I felt like a failure, but the floor wasn't any good for my mental health.

You did the right thing. Sounds like a dangerous place for your license.

So proud of you for quitting & being safe. We worked SO hard for our license.. won’t see us working in unsafe working conditions! 🤍

This comment scares me! Lol... my DREAM JOB is oncology! I don’t think I would do surgical though so idk if that’s a big difference or not but I’m praying that I’m not put under as much stress as you were! I know it’s a stressful job but I really really wanna help people especially with cancer!

Hey girl! Nope 🥰 just depends on your units needs. You hear a lot of new grads saying they work nights, that’s because they rotate the news grads into night shift and when experienced they move to days. Days tend to be a lot busier & harder too!
