SEE YOU NEXT FRIDAY FOR A NEW EPISODE OF 80'S HORROR MEMORIES!
The two most excellent vampire movies of the 80s both came out in ’85, and they couldn’t be more different - save for one thing: they were always on late-night TV back in the day. So, make sure your folks are snoring it up in the main bedroom, make sure to keep the volume kinda low, and break out your favorite snack because we’re delving into some blood and soul-sucking vampires as we take a look at “Fright Night” and “Lifeforce” on 80s Horror Memories.
Written By: Eric Walkuski
Narrated By: Tyler Nichols
Edited By: Brandon Nally

This is the most ambitious and well-made film in Cannon's Library. The spaceship models, the practical effects, and the sets were great. The walking naked vampire alien was also spectacular.

Fright Night is definitely my favorite horror movie of all time. It mesmerized me as a kid and it’s just simple.

Thank you for keeping the great horror films of the 80s alive! Please consider doing a video featuring horror of the 70s. I think that would be excellent.

As much as I love Fright Night, it's great characters, witty script, great SFX and easily my favourite poster of the 80s. Lifeforce (UK version) is on another level and truly unforgettable turning everything and then some up to 11 with a fantastic score, some beautiful Cinematography, great acting and a non stop pace thàt never dips. Oh and not forgetting Matilda May . A under rated Classic

Great video! There’s so many emotions in the death of Ed scene. Terror, revulsion, shock, a touch of guilt and (I think) a need to eliminate the force responsible for corrupting a child. It’s so much more interesting to see a character move forward from fear than a fearless hero.

Watched a ton of horror films and I loved Lifeforce because I really like when the government knows there is a supernatural threat and figure out a way to counter it or to destroy it.

For Pittsburghers such as myself, the horror host we remember was Bill Cardille. He was the coolest and dressed like an insurance agent. He played the reporter interviewing the sheriff in "Night of the Living Dead."

"Fright Night", favorite Brad Fiedel score(although was not really liking Intrada Records release, which I explained in my review in Film Score Monthly). His score to "Fright Night: Part II" is really good. Of course, Henry Mancini's theme(as well as score) for "LifeForce" is incredible, especially performed by The London Symphony Orchestra. Michael Kamen's additional music is just as great.

I remember for the first time as a kid in 88. However, whenever I told someone that I saw a movie on late night Cinemax they thought it was a completely different kind of film.

You will never get another movie like Lifeforce again. Especially today! The directors, producers, actors/actresses today would run a mile from this type of story. Thank you Tobe and thank you to the drugs he was on.

1 thing i've always appreciated about Tobe Hooper's "Lifeforce" is that it was energy vampires instead of the usual blood oriented type. "Lifeforce" is awesome, it's just a shame that the U.S. cut was mess, because the international cut is the perfect version of the film. Most people probably won't remember the book it's based on(the Space Vampires),but people who have seen it will remember this movie(Mathilda May as the Space Girl, effects, ect)

Loved this one. Just got Fright Night on 4k 3 disc tin recently. Still love this classic today!!!! Chris Sarandon is the shit in this movie. The features on this set are mind blowing. I can relate to alot of your narration. Lifeforce was a triple feature with me one weekend on video with Pink Floyd The Wall and Aliens. All three movies have become parts of my life as well as Fright Night. Look forward to the next one. Keep up the great work.

On the first night with a VCR. I was 7, my mother rented Lifeforce and a couple other movies I can't remember. My mother sat in terror with my 4 year old sister and I. She was relieved at the movie when my sister and I told her that was horrible and she couldn't pick movies anymore. We teased her about the naked vampire movie for years. I was in my twenties when I rewatched and enjoyed the movie.

Lifeforce is a guilty pleasure, though The Funhouse is my favorite of Hooper's filmography. I'd love to see an independent filmmaker remake this film that follows the novel.

One nitpick: you can't mention horror hosts and then not include Elvira in your list. I know she is mentioned a few minutes later in the interview, but my dude, she still should have been in your list because it's freaking Elvira!
