As a feminist, I want to say that 1:01 was absolutely 100% unacceptable and those women should've been kicked off the beach (at minimum). A lack of clothing is never an invitation to touch or strip someone. Even if clothing WAS a defense, Harries was at *work* and was wearing his work uniform; their actions were no different than a man stripping a hooters waitress or an underwear model while at work.

Seeing what those girls did to Harries made me extremely upset. Having been sexually assaulted myself I felt horrible seeing the other life guards just laughing it off. Like many have said if it was the other way around the men would be arrested. If men and woman are equal then sexual assault should be weighed equally regardless of sex.

I grew up on an acreage. My parents weren't there every second and we did some stupid things. Since I know what I did and the dangers... I think it turned me almost over protective. I totally can't understand bringing your kids to the ocean and not watching them .... yes kids can dissappear in a blink of an eye. That's why you should be vigilant.

The situation with Harries is disgusting to say the least. If 3 drunk dudes tried to do that to a female guard they’d get charged for sexual assault, and maybe harassment. Yet, some how its perfectly fine for a male to get almost striped by others? Harries looked traumatized, even if drunk who the hell would attempt to strip someone else. Striping others can display a sight that none would want to see, and on a public beach with kids!! What those ladies did was unexceptional, they themselves needed to be charged for sexual assault.

That's basically why this show exists, it gets played around the world as a precautionary tale. Same as our Border Security Australia - we have some of the strictest quarrantine laws on the planet, which a lot of people try to get past, so they created a show to drive the point home that people CANNOT bring that stuff into the country and they WILL be caught if they try.

I think no one explained clearly to the kids or the mother that they were being pulled imperceptibly away from the beach and out into the open sea/ocean. The guards just said Get on my rescue board and then took them to the beach and their mom. But even then, the guard just told the mom Your boys almost drowned and were just rescued. But to anyone, especially those kids at the time, DROWNING means no longer being able to keep your head above water and taking in way too much water as opposed to oxygen. So it's clear why no one felt like they were in danger of DROWNING. This comes down to Proper Communication from guards to patients and their guardians. More clear explanation is needed so they truly get it.

These guys (and girls) do an incredible job and I love seeing them rescue, but seeing the assault on the one guy made me so angry. That's not okay 😠 Also the joke at the end pretending the guy lost his job is not okay either. He clearly didn't want to be filmed and they still filmed him and he was clearly in a lot of distress at the thought of losing his job

I think the joke was fine as it was just momentary distress, and they were filming him because it was a prank. If he still didn’t want the clip in later he could ask for it to be edited out. As for the assault, that wasn’t okay whatsoever. The lifeguards have been known to laugh at each other during serious situations (for example Harries laughing when Jethro dislocated his shoulder). It’s not okay, but they still seem to be on good terms.

I can’t believe how long ago this was n how being in my 20s was that long ago either. My baby sister wants to become a lifeguard in Australia. I wonder if she watched this show n if so she must have watched it in her childhood to have that desire. But the woman who made it into bondi rescue team was rare once in a lifetime, I was kinda hoping I’d see my sister in this show. But I would be scared for her safety too. Anyway my sister n I aren’t talking at the moment again. She isn’t an easy person to get on with. I mean that in the most kindest way. After the abuse she put me through. But still I do still worry about her safety. She is drawn to high risk situations. Maybe it’s for the best she doesn’t make it there.

That youngest trainer lifeguard good on him, he has the right attitude for being a lifeguard. Good on him. I am now 63 used to like to swim but I never liked swimming in the sea. Hated the salt, mined I did sail for quite a few years I like in Britain we sailed all down France. Belgium, Holland round Britain round Ireland down to the channel islands. Only had one dip in the water on alderley trying to get into to tender I went straight into the water fully. I found out why people die falling into the cold water it takes your breath away ( I was lucky the skipper of the boat grabbed my arm and lifted me up ) I must admit it didn't put me off sailing.

I truly don't know what's harder: having to perform a recusation, a mass rescue or being stuck in the tower because it cannot be unmanned, forced to watch everything happen and unable to help.

We don't have lifeguards at my local beach and it's a municipal beach! I don't dare go more than waist deep. It's Lake Ontario but they're like freshwater seas with how rough they get and how deep they are.

Parents that have almost drowned themselves know how unsafe it is for their children . I always went in the water with my kids because of being close to losing my life .

The jetski takes time to pull out and get going, not too long, but it's minutes that a drowning victim might not have. If it's not necessary, it's nt worth the risk

Here me out, one of the most painful things at the beach are the sand-burns, when you scrape your knees on the sand, I even have scars from them.

You would have to really brave to be a lifeguard. I’m not tooooo completely good with the water but I still love it and I think I’m not fast enough anyway? When I’m older I really want to be a lifeguard! 🙃🙂☺️😊

My parents never let us get out of sight of them in the ocean. I remember my older sister and her friend were holding my younger sisters hands and a big wave came. Since they were older it didn't faze them but it went right over my little sisters head. She was freaked out but fine and my dad chewed them out good.

The scariest episode was when a rip developed in between flags where everybody was trying to swim safely. The sand dropped out from underneath everyone and a bunch of people got sucked out to sea of course the lifeguards saved everyone... But so scary how quickly that sand dropped away and a rip developed!

Just imagine half a dozen men sexually assaulting a female life guard... Is there any difference between sexually assaulting a woman or a man (or any other type of gender identity)??? Strange no action was taken against the perpetrators...
