Why would anyone put large wheels and low profile tires on a Jeep Wrangler? You just ruined it's off-road capability, so you might as well drive a Corvette.
22s on 37’s isn’t low profile but yes I’m definitely not maximizing its off-road capabilities, I just like the look and being I don’t off-road really, it worked for me.
Very helpful video and your voice is not annoying. Thanks. I got a leveling kit on mine to ride my 35's but I want to go up. Thanks for quoting some prices on this.
Your jeep looks beast, I really like, I have been debating on keeping my truck which is a 2021 Chevy 1500 3.0 diesel or going with a 2021 80th Jeep Wrangler and after this video I might just pull the trigger on it.
Im in numerous jeep groups, and it is widely stated ad nauseum that RC lifts are bottom of the barrel cheap junk. Yet you say that is all you put on your jeeps, interesting. Ive been researching and it looks like the RC kits are missing key components like track bars, control arms etc.
I think for the price they’re the best. Im a daily driver guy so barely take it off-roading. This is my third lift and I’ve never had an issue with them. I think it’s worth paying less than 1/2 off
currently have a f150 with a 6” lift on 36’s and i’m going to college next year and need something with better mpg. i just saw your video on the black jeep, what was your mpg with a 2.5” lift on 35’s?
Only time I’d recommend a rough country lift is if you can’t afford a better quality lift their cheap because of their low quality and crap ride quality I’d always recommend saving up more money and getting higher quality lift anything to do with suspension, engine, or drivetrain should not be done cheaply those are major safety issues I also don’t recommend wheel spacers get a wheel with a good offset the number of times I’ve seen wheel spacers fail is astounding and deadly at highway speeds I’ve seen rough country lifts that have been on a vehicle for a week and failed sure wouldn’t want that at highway speeds also why didn’t you touch on larger brakes with the larger lifts and tires seems pretty important to be able to stop when you need to the only decent information anyone should take from this video would the estimates for a shop to install the lift.
Rough Country is the Walmart Great Value brand for Jeeps though. Look, even your Jeep's face is angry that it got stuck with Rough Country products! :D Sorry, I shouldn't make fun but oh well, you'll be fine.
once you go above 3.5" there are other things that need to be done to correct the geometry of the jeep. Also, once you go above 35" tires you need to regear and get a heavier duty driveshaft and axles if you're going off road.
Tera flex makes a short arm 4” lift so no welding needed. I would recommend going with better control arms as that is what really makes the ride better, not so much the lift. It’s all about the play in your control arms, and the quality of the shocks. Shocks are relative to what type of ride you want. Do you want a soft ride or rigidity for rocks… It’s really up to you. The standard Jeep comes with cheep control arms and rubber bushings. That is where things give with bigger more demanding set-ups. The bushings can’t handle the pressure and have too much give causing your ride to seem like it’s all over the place.
You need more tire and less rims if you want to go off road. Clearly this guy doesn’t go off-roading. His tire and rim selection is for street. When you go off-roading, you deflate your tire for traction and comfort. You don’t want to have big rims and low profile tires like he has. Only if your mall crawling
depends on the tire too. I mean you could go 37’s and not re-gear but if you’re going to have it for awhile and want to do any off-roading you may want to. I didn’t off road or do anything crazy with it so I didn’t
What about the 4" lift that they offer that does not come with the long arm extensions... its like $550. If you are not an off roader but still want the height and ability to do the 38" tires. Is this a good option or no?
I was looking at RC but everyone has negative comments and that the shocks don’t last long rides rough. I was steering towards a mopar kit. How is your kit putting up.
Not silly at all and no I didn't re-gear. It's riding fine right now, it's recommended to do so but Im cheap haha so as long as I'm not having any issues I'm sticking with that. A rubi has a better gear ratio for big tires I believe, you may be in a better situation that mine actually.
JT and JL are practically the same there’s a small bit of difference that cause the JT kit to cost a bit more but not much JT is a JL with the trunk cut off and a 5foot bed installed and rear axle moved back a bit other than that their carbon copies of each other
What about on a 2021 Gladiator overland. I'm looking to purchase one I'm a daily driver wanna smooth ride no off road in just want some 35 with some deep dish wheels
Rough Country will get you room for bigger tires but that’s about it. I wouldn’t buy a paper weight from them. They’d somehow manage to mess that up. Sadly, I’ve bought thousands of dollars worth of their junk and know what I’m talking about.
I have a 2022 jeep gladiator sport s I want to put 35x12.5 on 20x17 rims. What's your suggestion on the type of lift I should get and still get the smooth factory ride that I have now ...thank you
Rough country back ordered about 10 weeks right now. No way I’m waiting another 2.5 months when my wheels and tires just came in today. So I downgraded and bought a super lift 4 inch lift today
😂😂😂 I totally had to stop watching as soon as you mentioned rough country. If you were joking with the intro then it's my bad but if you were not joking then I'm glad I left in the first 5 seconds. The biggest joke of the month right here fellas🗑️
I bought a simple coil swap and an add-a-leaf for my truck and the lowest quote I got was 680, highest 800. I instead bought the tools and did it myself for way less.
I'm new to the Jeep community and unfortunately there's no clubs around my area. I have a 2022 wrangler, I have 2in rough country spacers on it. I just recently came up on some 24s rims and tires I could not turn down. 375/40r/24 what size lift kit should I bell shopping for? Also from your experience so you think I'll have to shave anything down? I'm really clueless on this I just want a cool looking jeep. If you or anyone in this chat can help I'd appreciate it.
Rough Country isn';t the best, as far as lift kits. The likes of Teraflex, Metalcloak, Procomp, Icon Dynamics, Rubicon Express to name a few are way better overall...
and thats coming from my JK 2016 which I have a rough country 2 inch lift. Recently just added 1 inch coil spacer (teraflex) and a 1.25 inch body lift (teraflex). I will be doing a whole overhaul of my suspension with either, Teraflex or Icon Dynamics, with fox shocks or Falcon shocks
@@danrockwell1883 Yeah I agree, for the price, hell yeah its nice. But for the long haul and quality I'd go with something else. I will admit though, my rough country suspension lift has held up. 2 years now. but i have been in other jeeps with other suspension lifts (my brother and friends) and it rides way smoother and firm through trails and offroad.
Hey Dan , just a quick question buddy i have a rubicon right now and i’m also wondering to put a 37 inch tire and 22 inch wheel and same 4 inch lift .. but where i’m living underground parking says 6,8inch clearance.. So just wanna know with your current setup on jeep whst is the height or jeep ? So if I installed all these would it be okay for my parking ?
I got 35x15.50 r22 and 2.5inch lift its now 6’6 lol but my jeep color also silver same like yours .. next target is hood , fender , bumper and grill ... Thanks :)
