I couldn't just install all of the new parts onto a rusting body. I know the Forester is solid and most of the rust build up was on the subframes and suspension parts. However, the body had some areas that were in need of attention before getting worse. A lot of people wouldn't be in this situation of trying to save an old chassis to install thousands of dollars in new parts. They would just let go of it.
This sort of work is dirty, time consuming and slightly hazardous. I've owned vehicles in much worse condition and although this is a last ditch attempt to save the body, I know it's going to last many more years after cleaning everything up. I have a good idea on what I need to keep an eye on to maintain it for the long run.
Thanks for watching! There is still some more prep work but I am at the point that parts are ready to go back on. Need to get it done soon so I can enjoy it but not killing myself either. STAY TUNED
