I joined my High School Jazz Ensemble and was immediately immersed in the work of Return to Forever. They started my love of all things Jazz.

Stanley’s second self titled album is his Masterpiece including Lopsy Lu and the Upright Bass solo that changed my life as a teenager, Spanish Phases for strings and Bass. Tony Williams incredible drumming, Bill Connors out of this world solos with Jan Hammer wonderful keyboards created an amazing synergy with Stanley’s virtuosity. 🙏🎶

I have so loved this man since the day I walked two miles to my favorite record store/headshop to pick up the still warm copy of the new Schooldays album, which I still have and is still quite playable. I ended up turning so many white, suburban hippie-rockers onto Stanley (and much else besides) that I can't help but feel that I might actually have accomplished something in my life after all, pretty much by accident, when I was 15 and 16 years old...

Brother Stan the Man Clark. Lopsey Liu. Classic great tune. I recall when you and Drummer Simon Phillips, and Guitarist Icarus Johnson did the Rocks Pebbles and Sand album. 1978 was it. Love that project. Stanley thank you for all the years of great music. And the continuous good music you produce now and compose in the 21st Century. Greetings from Detroit. Michigan.

I wish this technology was around way back when. You where my favorite bass player then, and my favorite now. School Days was one of the first fusion tunes I attempted to play. I’m still attempting to play it. Happy Holidays! 👍✌️😂

I love how you have that thumb technique down to get the percussive effect without the string hitting the frets and getting the typical slap sound. Totally different sound unique to you but I'm trying to cop it. ;)

🙏🏾🙂🎻 This was the First Song that Interduce me to Stanley Clarke. My Cousin ask me to come over to see a Band, He told them, My Cousin Plays Guitar. (These Guys were Older than Me) and when I got there the Song that they was warming up to was Lopsy Lu. 😀 now I never Heard Lopsy Lu before. So I thought it was One of there Songs. Because I was Still Playing R&B, Rock and Roll, and a Little Blues. Wasn't into Jazz Yet. But that Day I was Interduce to Jazz and Stanley Clarke. 🙂🙏🏾 And the Bass Player who was playing it, Played it just like the Record. (Blew Me Away) I had to go Out and Get this Album. and I've been into Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Return to Forever, George Benson and Everybody Else in the Jazz World Ever Since. 👍🏾✌🏿🎻🎸🙂🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
