This one got me as hard as a rock Combat Mod used: Ouryu's Fight, www.nexusmods.... Outfit Mod: Boutique Remix, www.nexusmods.... Ost Used: • Disco Devil - Paper Ma...
Honestly I’m so conflicted on how to feel about Gaiden’s combat. Neither style is satisfying to use and both lack any real synergy with each other. Yakuza style feels majorly restrictive with how needlessly slow it is and Agent, while unique, feels like a gimmick. Heat accumulation is also insanely slow and there are very few hacts. The juggling feels neutered, probably for balancing purposes, but there is nothing else of substance combat-wise so I don’t see why it was nerfed. Hyperarmor is WAY more abundant which is unfortunate because the lack of it was a huge improvement in LJ that nobody mentions. I get that some people don’t like juggling because it’s not “realistic” or feels “cheesy”, but Yakuza combat is completely uninteresting without a way to consistently do lengthy combos on enemies. Playing tag with a hyperarmored boss isn’t fun.
Yeah the hyperarmor thing tho I feel is kinda the same in LJ the main diff was tho that Yagami’s tools to deal with it are infinitely better than Kiryu’s, to the point where he can completely bypass it entirely and do back combos on bosses. But yeah Yakuza games with intricate combo mechanics have been a thing since Yakuza 2 with the Southpaw Bracelet equippable. Idk why they’re so against it now with them adding an 💩ton more hyperarmor to bosses in Kishin and then attempting to remove back comboing entirely from the game, maybe it’s because they wanna make it “harder” but it’s just a lot less fun since that hidden sauce that makes a Yakuza combat system fun and replayable isn’t there.
@@DillionT Yeah I do feel that you’re right in that Yagami has the tools to properly counter hyperarmor while Kiryu doesn’t. RGG has proven that they can make really awesome combat systems, but a lot of the time it feels like they hold themselves back with weird choices or straight up bad enemy design. I’d love to see them focus more on refining combat elements or even implement aspects from other action games to really evolve what we’ve been getting.
Now all we need is figuring a way (either vanilla or with mods), to start ground combos in gaiden, which tbh having discussed I don't think is possible
Assuming you played HGG and this might be a stupid question regardless but you prefer LJ or HGG juggling? I do prefer LJ juggling personally sure but theres a hillarious satisfaction in the mid air juggle wall bounding type combo you could pull off in HGG
whats the difference between this mod and the deluxe one? also ive been playing on and off and i think finishing hold during a juggle resets the timer for rejuggles but im not too sure
theres actually no timer on juggles, it's just whenever they get angered/red aura around their head lul bounding throws prob do reset it cus it only lasts like 5 seconds
This mod gives Agent Snake parry and a counter that juggle, Yakuza has a unique counter but it’s inferior to the Komaki parry in deluxe, for both styles in EX mode the counter window is made bigger. Yakuza has a light dodge attack in Ouryu, the combo speed is a a tiny bit slower than deluxe but it’s hardly noticeable, those are all the differences that I can remember off the top of my head, you can shoot me for any specific questions regarding the differences between them
its much more fun when you get in Kiryu's role and try to do realistic fight without taking damage, i dont understand how someone prefers juggling over this here, this is a piece of art every move is calculated, looks even better when you pick up that stick with spider wire but for some reason camera keeps getting stuck and you get hit by
Sorry i dont find the prospect of bosses breaking out of my combos randomly and getting donkey punched will nilly for the sake of "realisim" not enjoyable. Gaidens combat in its vanilla state is below mid and this mod improves a lot of it
Both this and the Deluxe mods are good, though I do wish they make building up heat a tad faster. Kiryu's DE moveset is fine, but I still prefer his OG moveset. It would have been rad if he uses the OG style in EX Heat mode.
There’s a mod dedicated to the OG style on Nexus if ur interested, does the same thing you proposed but in reverse where the OG moveset is just the normal one while the DE is the one used in EX Heat
