Here's the thing, Fern is only like 16 years old and Stark is only 17 years old. Himmel was only 15 when he set out to fight the Demon King. So yeah, Fern and Stark are literally just starting on their journey to become heroes.

There's not many shows where I like all the mains equally. But Frieren, Fern, and Stark are THEM. "Rootinest tootinest fastest shootinest" LOL.

This episode is directed and storyboarded by Kouki Fujimoto. To those who are unfamiliar with who he is, he was one of the key staff members for CSM as well as one of the primary animators for JJK. The reason why cursed energy looked like they do was developed by him. Other than the next episode of JJK S2, this was my most anticipated episode of the season, and they delivered. The animators for this episode includes superstars like Toshiyuki Sato, Tatsuya Yoshihara(the man who saved the Black Clover production), Norifumi Kugai, Kaito Tomioka and Kouki Fujimoto himself. This here is a show with a visibly far more healthier schedule than most shows airing this season where the staff does not get screwed over by piss poor management (looking at you JJK S2).

The fights in this series are really good. Overall mana and strength doesn't always define the outcome. Technique, speed, tenacity and presence of mind during fights are critical as well. The smallest opening can lead to defeat. Glad they were able to translate this well into the animation. 10/10!!

The speed in which Fern can cast her spell can makes her a better DPS than Frieren who clearly stronger... reason being Fern can fire off more hits than Frieren who does big damage in one shot... but in RPG turns, that can be 4 to 8 spells in one flow from Fern before Frieren fires off a big PP beam of damage. Though Frieren power makes her better in terms of damage, Fern makes up with speed which leaves her opponent less breathing room.

The lead animator was talking up this episode on social media. Ya'll can see why.

Its crazy how emotionless fern is, its so scary, because shes exactly like frieren, but the catch is, frieren is like this because she lived a thousand years or so, but fern is like 17 or something and she is almost just as emotionless in some parts

The way she looked in the moonlight reminded me of Dominique in during the finale battle of Vanitas, which I'm still waiting on for RU-vid reactions 🤬! Like Stark's smooth jacket animation, so was his transition into a moment of cowardice 😂. I find his moments of fear are far less annoying than Zenitsu's. The fireworks 🎆 during the double battle was fantastic! If Fern & Stark's animation can look this amazing then I can't imagine how much more glorious Frieren's fight animation will be. Shout out to the legendary Madhouse! Entertaining reaction as always. I'm going to take away one charge of misogyny for Taylor's retraction of negative thoughts about Frieren!😅😅😅

For those that are anime only, stay that was, the manga is great but holy shit man madhouse is gassing the fuck out of the anime

So far this has to be in the Top 20 Anime list of all time. Top-notch story and Madhouse knows a thing or two about animation.

As someone that predicted jjk season 2 will be the best anime for the fall, I have to say I had no idea what I was expecting with frieren and pluto, it's definitely between these 2, that are truly the best anime of the fall season 😊

Fern is the boxer who gets into matches with all these heavyweights throwing big flashy haymakers and uppers and just goes for Jabs upon jabs while weaving until the other guy is too bruised and swollen to even see before she goes for the killer blow.

And I can't even lie, the girl that was fighting stark was actually cracked because she definitely had the skills but just not the strength. I'm glad I gave this anime a shot because so far it been amazing, but I can't WAIT until they face someone that can make frieren get scared, that will be wild to see
