Great idea putting it on eBay, at less the person purchasing your donation, knows that it works and has been serviced.

Your channel is hugely entertaining regardless of the viewer's need to fix whatever you are fixing. You take these locos apart with an uncanny insight into quite what needs to be undone and where and why but we don't really see a lot of the dismantle process, your focus is on finding and fixing the problem. I don't know the finances with RU-vid but I reckon you could generate a big income stream if you created a seperate sister channel devoted to disassembling and reassembling locos. Even getting the body off a loco, especially Bachmann and Heljan is far from obvious, even with an exploded parts diagram. There's just nothing on RU-vid or in illustrative form that is consistent and nobody has your easy manner when describing a process. Bromsborough, or something like that, did illustrated guides many, many years ago but some from you in your unique unfussed style would, in my opinion, be a winner that continued to generate income for many years ahead. Very nice old loco which models the preserved KOYLI thats in the National Railway Museum. Its light configuration and TOPs number represent how the loco looked in the 1980s upon its donation to the NRM. That should make it a quick sale on eBay. I like the Hornby/LIMA Deltics. They are not as detailed or accurate as the Bachmann or Accurascale versions but they are reliable and easy to work on. Flush glazing improves their appearance immensely. Great idea to donate to SPCA. Abandoned animals have increased since the covid stay at homes went back to work. My daughter studies Vet Bioscience and visited a shelter recently full of GS, husky and malamute dogs..all young and needing rehoming. I've been buying a few bits and pieces on fleabay and the prices are..erm..healthy..and getting healthier for the last four years Between postage and tariffs my Lima blue deltic cost €74 a couple of years back! And they're still in huge demand! Even the ho stuff is getting expensive. Shows that there is still a big market for basic toy models out there. Not everyone wants extraordinary detail and fidelity for extraordinary prices!

I love those old Lima deltics Bill the motors are pretty much bulletproof and seem to run for ever. The missing buffer is more or less compulsory for these models as well but easily replaced

The Lima Deltics are fairly nice models I’ve got St Paddy in the same livery, good work on getting it going. Good luck on the sale it’s nice to see someone think of the animals for a change hope it goes for a nice high price.

Another lovely locomotive saved. Very nicely done, particularly the paint touch up, and she seems a nice quiet smooth runner too. What a great idea to sell the surplus models and put the funds to good use with a charity. 🙂

Hi Bill, just want you to know after watching all these videos of yours the past 2 years I now feel brave enough to take on the job of servicing an N gauge loco. Can't pull the motor apart but I can certainly reach through the holes! It's an ebay purchase that doesn't quite run as well as advertised.

The Duke of Wellington's Regiment is my green Lima Deltic, as well as Royal Scots Grey, and Fife and Forfar Yeomanry, both in blue. You won't have any problems selling it on eBay as these Lima Deltics go like hot cakes!!!! I might bid on it myself. I love these.

I'd like to get one of these myself, the chassis would make a good donor for a Deltic Prototype build with the old Airfix kit (because while the Bachmann one is gorgeous, the prices those go for now are WAY too rich for my blood). Another nicely done overhaul, Bill! I wish this one all the best with the proceeds, it's going to a great cause!

When working on a Lima loco I like to take off the clip that takes power off the in-driven boggie and instead drill a small hole to connect (solder) a wire directly to the brass pick up.

I have tow old hornby dublo trains that belonged to my dad but only have a two rail track.

I always liked the blackened wheels they put on Lima diesels, still not sure how they did that as they seem to be made of some sort of alloy with a high copper content, rather than steel or nickel silver. At least that’s what are fitted to my Westerns. I’ve seen you do a few CD motor conversions which run very well, but personally I’ve never had any problems with the original Lima motors which I find make a nice diesely noise as a bonus, especially on the half wave setting on my old H&M Duette !

Nice job once again its great idea if you have no need of it to raise monies for a charity, one sad thing how much longer will we see this nice layout

I wish someone would send me donation locomotives I could never afford them on my salary….have been saving for a hornby train for 3 months now.

Hi there Bill ,, They can send them donation locos carriages track buildings to me and of all types of ho or oo scale be it broken not running or missing bits or even just unwanted trains to me if they want to. I have a quarter acre here in oz and theres always room for 1 or 2 or 10 100 or 1000 more trains as i just absolutely luv them. That's why i watch your channel. I dont want to sound rude or greedy but im keen to take them all of the unwanted ones if you dont want them. I would even send the sender or the donator the cost of what it is to send it to me by post to me 😁 Anyhoo just a thought ,, but if your keen you send me a msg here or i can send you my email address if ok with you.
