Hi all, I was asked to put something together to show how good second hand lima locos can be. These have been looked after and are still in very good condition when I purchased.
All items purchased from Chris' Crafts and model railways in Plymouth.

That Lima Class 50 was a landmark model when it came out. Superb detailing and finish.

Back in my childhood I got a Lima railroad and two of their Swedish train models. The detailing and quality of those was really good!

I love the older Lima models. I have come back to OO gauge and I will be doing Lima models again soon enough :).

Good running session . These Lima locos scrub up well . I still have my Inter City HST and Class 37s and 47s even an 09 . Good runners if a bit noisy, but that doesn’t bother me

Started fitting mine with CD motors, and they all run superb. Smoother, quieter running, well woth the money to convert. Even cheaper option is to convert 1 loco and then change the bodyshells over. You can pick up bodyshells for about £10, a great way to expand your fleet.

Class 50 dispelling the myth that Lima can’t crawl start. However, in my experience, Lima bo-bos are all terrible slow runners.

Depends where you shop. I'm lucky to have a great model shop local that stocks very well priced items. However people like hattons, rails of Sheffield and ebay seem to ask for alot of money for second hand items.
