great video Mark, I am long standing fan of Lima Kit , served me well over many years as has 3 in 1 oil!! Best wishes for 2020 and new decade, richard.
hob e lube oil or gaugemaster oil is best for models, and i like lima as well, prefer the later small geared motors like in this video, much more reliable.
That is fantastic, thank you Mark. My 55 would benefit from a service like this as it has never had one. I think I will get some spare springs and brushes before attempting anything.
Very interesting Mark....Hopefully giving people the confidence to have a go at this kind of thing themselves.....And in the words of Mr Sinatra...I did it my way !! ....Great video...Ade
That was a nice little tutorial, hopefully people will be able to follow it and keep there stock in tip top working order. One little criticism though, is there a way you can stop your camera from auto adjusting the exposure as it can be hard to see what you are pointing to at times when the picture goes really dark, otherwise great video.
Hi Mark I enjoyed the Lima service video today. can I ask if you know why Barrie Davis utube site is showing a tab this site does not exist? I remember the last time you contacted Barrie and he eventually came back. cheers william
Who knows what Barrie is thinking, he may come back as he did in the past, or he may not. It's up to him. All I can do is write a letter to him, as that is the only way i have of reaching him. cheers Mark
@@Markintheshed >Hi Mark Barrie has changed his utube site he has posted some new posts and seems to have moved out his old videos. thanks for your help bye for now william
I wouldn't advocate the use of any oil/lubricants other than dedicated oils for model railway locomotives. Other oils have long since been regarded as harmful to locomotive plastic ie bogies and other components and should not be used. 3in1oil and WD40 are regarded as the worst two to use, but as you say Mark each to their own. Michael
i did say more than once that this is my way of doing things, I have been doing this since I was a kid, and I'm 58yrs old now. In my opinon 3in1 is NOT HARMFUL. however WD40 IS HARMFUL. and 3in1 also have an aerosol version that IS HARMFUL. I hope that clarifies things, cheers Mark
