It’s really difficult to get a holistic view regarding the origin of the Limbu tribe. Weaving the fragments of oral histories and popular memories, we can come to some conclusions like they might be the ancestors of the Aryans, or had fought against them. They belong to the family of the Kirats as found reference in the Rig Veda or the Mahabharata. They also might have migrated from Tibet or from China. They had their own kingdom called the Limbuwan. They call themselves Yakthumba or the head of the hill tribe. Living in the land of Buddhism, they follow their own pre Buddhist tribal religion called Yumaism. Deity Yuma is their beloved and is worshipped in all occasions. All the folk dances and community festivals carries the impressions of human imagination about their deity Yuma. A percussion instrument called the Chyabrung and a string instrument called the Tungeba is widely used to accompany their folk dances and songs. The house of the Limbus is called Hem and is a two storied building to save them from natural disasters and wild animals. The central pillar is the most important and sacred part of their house, and is worshipped with strict rituals. The central pillar manipulates the central gravity around which the house is made. The Limbus are animist when they perform some rituals to please the evil spirits. The religion Yumaism is their ethnic bond that they have been preserving with care and love which is transcending through generations.

Early Nepalese kingdom One of the earliest kingdoms was founded by the native Kirat people. They ruled Nepal from about 900 B.C. to 300 A.D. and This kingdom was called Kiratdesh and extended from eastern Nepal to Sikkim. was a Kirat warrior and First King of Kirata Kingdom in Nepal. He established Kirata Kingdom in 1500 A.D.[1] He shifted his capital from Yalung to Thankot after conquering Central Nepal and his kingdom extended from river Trisuli in the west to river Teesta in the east. Ethnic relationship with Sikkim The natives of Sikkim are also of Sino-Tibetan ancestry and can be grouped into Bhutia and Lepcha. The Lepcha are the original inhabitants of Sikkim and most probably the descendants of the ancient Kiratdesh kingdom. The Bhutia migrated to Sikkim in the 13th century. They are part of the Bodic group and are descendants of the Kham Tibetans of eastern Tibet. Proto-Maha-Kirat The proto-Maha-Kirat people came from Majiayao Neolithic region in Gansu province. They migrated in a southwest direction via the Chumbi valley to reach Sikkim around 3000 BC. After passing Chumbi valley, they spread across the southern flank of the Himalayas in a westward direction from Sikkim into Nepal. There are so many Pre Historical evidences found About Kirati People They are Ancient Aboriginal Inhabitans of India, Nepal, Bhutan Darjeeling and Sikkim also Inhabitat by Kirati People according to Various Historical facts but Nowadays Bengali and other Researcher Schoolers trying say We are migrated from Nepal Without investigate Pre Historical evidences in Present day We Kirati People of Nepali community We have become landless in our own mythical land All researchers give priority only to the Bhotiya and Lepchas, but the Kirati who have lived From ancient times on Which is their own land. Kirati s who Has been living since ancient times Keeping us as second-class citizens? Called migrated from Nepal? Kirati or kiratas. Who are Aboriginal Inhabitans Ancient tribes of Indian Subcontinent And south east Asia regions Kirats have mentioned in Ancient Vedic Text Ramayana Mahabharata Yajurbeda , Kalika purana even In Indus valley Civilization . Kirati Origin not only found In Nepali Community but Also The hole North East Indian Tribes Bodo/Boro Tripuri so many other Tribes of North East India mention they are Kirat Descendants Indian State of Tripura in Ancient time is Called Kiratdesh or land of the kirats . It is believed that We Kiratis of Nepali community Our Ancestors Came from the root of North East India Via Mansarovar Mount Kaliash And reached Sikkim very early and Settled different parts of Eastern Nepal ,Darjeeling ,Sikkim region And After conquering Central NEPAL First Kirat King of Nepal Yalamber Shift his Capital from Eastern Nepal Yalung Near [Kanchanjunga] to Thankot and Kirat KINGDOM Territory extended from Central NEPAL To River TISTA in India including North Bengal and Sikkim. Kanchanjungas original Name Also from Kirati language Sikkim Name also originated from Kirati Limbu language There are so many OLD places in Darjeeling Kalimpong which is orgin from Kirati languages

I wonder why these researchers from dominant communities are so much obsessed about the origin of racial minorities. They always begin the introduction of racial minorities as immigrants from somewhere else. I wonder if they will do the same when they do documentary on Bengali people. Will they begin with "Bengalis are immigrants from Hindu Kush or Mediterranean"?
@KaahonKommunications
@KaahonKommunications 5 лет назад
We totally disagree with the interpretation and understanding you are trying to derive out of our effort. If you look through our videos essentially on performing arts of marginal communities of Bengal, you will understand our stance on the cultural and socioeconomic politics which have been practiced historically in Bengal and it's still 'on'. We are generally overwhelmed with the rich cultural heritage and the history of all the Indian tribes and we believe the tribal people must not be ashamed with the migration history. We believe they are strongly Indians like us, the so-called upper layers of social structure. We research with an open mind and our research is the secondary one. We go through different interpretations written by famous scholars and anthropologists and we derive our understanding through that. Nothing is confirmed and sure about it and we never put any statement at any point of our video. We always keep things open for discussion. We won't mind being self-critical and redpect any argument. But your racial outlook is not to be agreed and we strongly oppose that. Regards.
