This Limerick tean is definitely the best, they have 5 All Irelands with the same players, And Kilkenny had new players every couple of years to freshen up squad, Kilkenny could sleepwalk through leinster EVERY year, Galway werent even in Leinster until 2009! Limerick have 5 wars just before they get to semi final. Limerick are the best ive ever seen.
A massive congrats to Limerick. Savage team and thoroughly deserving of the four in a row. Looking forward to next year's Munster championship already !!!
Congrats to Limerick.A magnificent team ,six in a row is on at this stage. Once they hit CP they just destroy teams.Bigest test next year for them will be getting out of Munster which will be a dog fight.
It was a hell of a lot easier for that kk team to reach a final than it is for today's Limerick team having to come through the Munster round robin bloodbath that's a fact.
Exactly, Limerick have to play 5 all ireland style matches in Munster just to get to Semi Final all Ireland, They are phenomenal team, And been doing it with the same team for 6 years,
It is time for TJ Reid to retire to keep his reputation intact played well in Leinster but showing his age in mayor matches Great player but leave now when the crowd are shouting for more
Same here, especially when Cork only lost by a point in the Gaelic grounds. And remember if Cork had won that game, then Limerick were out of the championship !!!
No minor game beforehand the championship run off early no August or September magic...not even a club final on Patrick's day to showcase our indigenous sports...games behind paywall to deny a lot of elderly people who gave so much to the Gaa...the fact that Croke Park has coldplay scheduled for end of August next year just shows that the Gaa has no intention of changing its schedule....money has well and truly taken over .
@@Kevin-lf4xxit runs from January to July whilst players are in full training from November. Players actually get to have a personal life whilst also playing with their school friends over the summer months. it’s not like there’s less inter county games than before there’s actually more there’s weeks wasted in football in Hurling between the provincials in football and the league and preliminary games E.g. Tipp and Offaly) which nowone cares about are wasted weeks.
@@MD-fv2fw you have addressed very few of the points I made....the players you know must be on junior C teams.. the elder states people of the GAA are not being looked after properly...the glamour games of the tail end of championship are taken out of the Summer/Autumn window where soccer and rugby have free reign...you speak of more games that's actually the only new thing extra games of football and many meaningless some games behind paywall again cutting off a lot of elderly people....
I disagree with jacqui regarding the perception that it's a let down that the hurling intercounty champo is over too quickly in the year. At least now people who play hurling or want to play hurting or who are enthused to play hurling after watching the intercounty champ and this great spectacle have a chance to play it for a few months where they've the best chance of playing it in some bit of decent weather compared to opposite situation years ago where you end up playing championship at club level into November etc at which point the interest wanes when you're going out playing in shite conditions after a long years slog. I understand her point but go back to the old way and when hurling for a club in a hurling county where everything hinges on the intercounty team regarding club fixtures was so disheartening I felt. This conversation is being pushed now by pundits the last while but has anyone asked the intercounty players themselves their thoughts on it? I'll bet the idea of not potentially hurling from January to December at club level every year for these guys is a relief
Galway and Kilkenny far too honest and clean hurlers. Best way to upset Limerick is shithousery and start a few fights, as you won’t beat them hurling. More bite in the Munster games, teams frustrating Limerick.
I find it interesting that all the folks (former players & media types) that will have no problem getting tickets for the All-Ireland final are demanding a minor tussle before the senior game because they want more of an 'atmosphere' & a bigger audience for their former on-field rivals on the jubilee team. I have enjoyed the last two finals because there wasn't as much carnage involved in getting match day tickets. The crowd was in the stadium for the jubilee team they just weren't in their seats. They were eating & drinking on the concourses in the stadium.
Can't believe this brilliant podcast has only 46 views, what are supposed to be die hard hurling fans doing now, excluding Limerick fans probably still celebrating, and kilkenny fans, both played probably the best all Ireland final of all time.
Fair play to Brendan brilliant words , football people need to realize we aren’t anti football but we are not giving the same attention as football by the gaa
Am a Munster man but the hype around the Munster championship isnt backed up by facts. Galway disposed of Tipp handy enough and Kilkenny have done Clare twice now. Kilkenny and Galway are the 2nd and 3rd teams.
