If you are 70 years old and didn't have a crush on Linda, you must have been deaf and blind. She is a singular rare talent. One of the greatest voices of our lives.
I’m in my late 50’s and I had my crush, I work with a young lady that’s in her late 20’s that looks exactly like her , she could be Linda’s granddaughter
I love it when singers just sing the song and don't try to show off.. and do 'vocal gymnastics' like so many singers do today.. Just watch and learn from the legend.. Linda
Yes, no offense against Lady Gaga and Beyonce but they can't hold a candle to Linda. She didn't dance and wear sleazy clothes. She just concentrated on her VOICE.
Her voice is unlike any other ( perhaps Karen Carpenter ) as is Glens . How lucky we are to forever be able to see and hear them perform in these time capturing videos. None of us last forever .
Linda's focused on Glen like a hawk, nailing every inflection perfectly in sync with him, and not even having to think about hitting the right notes. That's what great harmony singers do. You couldn't rehearse this enough to do it that well, it's all eyes and ears.
@@RR-iq8ze I went back and rewatched it just to make sure, but I don't believe so. Glen always does little things on his guitar to let you know he's really "there." Plus you can see a ton of moments in Carolina in My Mind where he deviates slightly and she follows him. Glen often played and sang live to backing tracks.
Linda looks like a teenager here and I was too at the time and I have loved her my whole life as I am 77 now and that love is still there and Glen is as great and as a Vietnam Vet I freeze up when he sings Galveston because the memories come rushing back. There can't be a loving God to have taken Linda's voice from her and all her life long Fans but she will always be singing in our hearts~!!!
Ah, Linda! My late dad loved her and he has amazing taste, didn't he? His two fave female singers were her and Ella Fitzgerald. Definitely the finest ladies of song. God bless Linda, I pray she is OK even though she can no longer sing like an angel. She and Julie Andrews will never be forgotten for their amazing instruments. The voice!
Linda Ronstadt had the most beautiful clear voices,of any female singers, and, wow, what a gorgeous, woman. Her face is so gorgeous, I loved her greatest hits album. Glen Campbell one of the most talented guitarists ever, especially being, self taught and playing by ear.
Remember Linda in "Pirates of Penzance" with Kevin Kline, singing Gilbert and Sullivan? She could sing ANYTHING, folk, blues, classical. Incredible talent.
She & Elvis Presley were the only singers I have heard that could sing any type of singing equally well. Surely there more…like Aretha Franklin and Bill Withers - just didn’t get the exposure.
Glen played the guitar as effortlessly as breathing for you and me. Everyone loved the guy. Everyone wanted him to play with them. Everyone wanted Linda to sing one of their songs. And it's now all memories - except for recordings. Imagine not being to see and hear these wonderful songs by these two terrific artists.
This was amazing…seeing her as a very young talent. Her style, vocals and emotion in her voice really show changes over the years. Knowing more about her Mexican heritage than I used to, I thought of that aspect regarding her music and the way she uses her voice. Viva, Linda. You’ll live forever.
I saw her at Radio City Music Hall singing classics and was fabulous, she could sing anything , what a surprise when, as her encore she sang Desperate, just her and a piano. She has earned the respect of even country as a member of the trio, Dolly, and Emmylou. We miss you Lynda,
in my opinion Linda was the greatest female vocalist of all time. Thats just IMO though- i want to make that clear because i hate when people make a competition out of music. If you ever get a chance to watch the recent documentary about her its worth your time. She could sing any style, she sang rock, folk, standards, she stared and sang in the Opera, She had several number 1 albums in Mexico where she sang Mexican music. Im a big fan.
You know, 😢 it's not good to live with regret! One of my greatest regrets is not seeing😥 LINDA RONSTADT in concert🎤!She is BEAUTIFUL and TALENTED❣️Love you Linda🎶💕
The greatest female pop singer of all time. Pitch, phrasing, range, power, tenderness, vibrato, dynamics. The whole package. Plus incredibly beautiful. I get lost in those eyes.
Her eyes, mouth and her incredible voice. Since she is just 5'2" tall, you would thought that she would have worn heels. Not Linda, comfort meant more to her than looks.
Another one of great hyperbolic proclamations! Like you've seen every female pop singer going back to 1900, yeah right! How about just saying the best you ever saw or that you're still in love with Linda Ronstadt? You people really kill me! :)
Today's music is so filled with overdubs, and complex 24+ track arrangements that it is almost impossible to perform live. This performance is from an earlier, more sincere era, where people were expected to be able to perform live at a level very close to the recording studio. It's amazing how good they are.
m h you certainly implied you didn’t like the music of today’s young people. You used a quote saying that today’s musicians have no talent. That certainly implies you don’t like today’s music. If not, why use the quote? Asshole!
@@jamesk1027 is your talentless child trying g to make a career as a mush mouthed mumble rapper or something.. most of todays music is devoid of any originality and the so called performers have basic minimal talent...they are throw away posers with a shelf life of a year or so....
Great songs from Linda's early days pleasant sweet ess from sutch a lovely wonderful singer ,and songwriter recorded with many artist L.oved by all .Music artist songs with truth from life's most trying exspeariences Sing with feeling .You can feel emotions in her delivery t hats what makes it sell.pure heat ,
Saw her at the Nassau coliseum back in 70s. Had a friend there, we were back stage. I told the guy standing next to ,”man she can really sing huh”, he said she was one of the best, that guy was Meatloaf, who knew!!
Justas Well Check out a female singer named Rachael Lampa. Check out her acoustic versions of When I Fall and Im Blessed. She besides Linda are my two favorite female vocalist. Rachael Lampa is also latino.
My heart breaks to know that this woman's beautiful singing voice is no more. She was one of the most incomparable vocalists of the 20th century. And the magnificent Mr. Campbell...sadly, we will never again see this type of pure, true talent. We, of a certain age, are certainly lucky to have witnessed both of them "in their prime".
@@haywoodjablome234 Karen Carpenter is still incredibly missed by all who grew up with her music. Her incomparable voice was the soundtrack to so many of our teen and young adult years. She, too, was the epitome of pure, God-given talent...the likes we will, unfortunately, never see again.
All 3 singers, Linda, Karen, & Glen were extremely talented & amazing ... Karen & Glen now performing with so many others in concerts with the angels 👼 ... so thankful that Linda is still with us & still rcving well deserved honors ... the music of all 3 is their continuing legacies & will live on forever !! 💜💜🎶💜💜
@Haywood Ja'Blome please stop trying to compare. Both fantastic one of a kind voices. There is enough room at the top for both. To say she is "nothing" compared to anyone is just not true or maybe you have issues with your hearing.
Linda doesn't just sing this beautiful song she performs it and owns it, she becomes the heart broken girl of the heart rending, haunting lyrics. Heart breaking.
Linda. Beautiful forever. Inside and out. Thanks for making the music that made a teen in Missouri "think about things....". Ageless and timeless, darling, no matter what.
Hello 👋 Julie. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I'm Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Omg...my ❤ cant handle this one. My fave song of Linda's. Love her and love Glen. Thanks for sharing this. My husband us in Heaven now but the ONLY man I'll love forever. I used to look like Linda back then too...shes still beautiful though. R.I.P.Glen and my husband. Gonna love you both and Linda forever.
When I was growing up the most popular poster I can remember is a headshot pose of Linda looking over shoulder. That was enough to make all the guys I know to be head over heels in love with Linda. What a combination of beauty and voice.
I was an American high schooler in Frankfurt in the mid-Seventies, and one night as I was riding my ten-speed home to the Drake-Edwards Housing Area, I noticed an advertising kiosk with a big poster for a Linda Ronstadt concert. And I had to stop. It was that picture of Linda. And it was really nice to see.
IN the great special about Linda (The Sound of My Voice), Dolly, Emmylou, Bonnie Raitt all agreed that Linda could sing my styles better than anyone else, ever, themselves included. Linda is an unrepeatable gift.
