Linda & Sam Thompson Hour at the King Of Las Vegas Festival, International Theater, Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, NV - Friday July 8, 2022
I’m 28 and recently discovered Elvis. I play his music to my 2 year old son. Elvis will always be remembered, he music will be passed down through each generation. ❤
Right! We don't need Graceland and certainly don't need greedy Prizzy to love Elvis, billions of fans around the world love him for who he was, is and will always be 🤴✨️👑
Good for you I was 16 when he died and I always liked him but after he died I heard all of his songs stories concerts and all of the rest and it just hit me and I’ve never looked back there’s no comparison to todays so called singers and music it’s just not good enough it’s all about money that all . I’ve met some of his members . so keep it up 👍
@LindaThompson is simply one of the most authentic and loving light forces.... With so much talent in her own right…no wonder Elvis was drawn to her! Linda and Sam Thompson are always so giving with their time and are as humble and respectful as you will find inside the "Elvis" inner circle ❤👌🙏
I was 2 when Elvis died & honestly, I really never have been into his music & legacy as much as I am today. I really enjoyed listening to this. Linda & her brother...CLASS ACTS. Long live the King...
Linda Thompson you are one lovely lady i'm so proud of you speaking out that Elvis wasn't miserable before he passed or even when he divorced Priscilla he had moved on having good times and laughter with the people he met and at the end of his life he loved Ginger Alden and they were engaged so its lies to say he was miserable.
Linda is not a celebrity she dated Elvis Thats her claim to fame and almost 50 yrs later she is milking it for all its worth .Do you think they do this out of love for Elvis ? Money thats why they do it . Disgusting
Linda and Sam is amazing ppl. Elvis memory is still alive ! I was 16 when he passed. My family and I listened to Elvis for yrs! I never met him but I did visit Graceland twice and loved it!! Bless your hearts and thank you for these stories God bless you both ❤️😊
Linda was, is and will always be that ‘extra special ‘ Elvis girl. I haven’t met her(yet) but I met lots of individuals that have , and she is by far, the most caring, loving, charming, down to earth human anywhere. Sam is another incredible , humble human as well. I could listen to the both of them all day long.
It speaks volumes that Lisa Marie called LindaThompson before her own mother when Elvis passed away. It's clear to me that Lisa and Linda had a incredible loving relationship.
It’s lovely that as brother and sister they shared that unique experience. I like Linda, she’s very grounded and down to earth considering the amazing life she’s had and all the famous people she’s met. I think southern ladies are lovely. I’m glad she’s telling her story as it’s an important part of hers and Elvis’s history.
I just want to say that Linda Thompson is a real Southern Belle I really wish it could have worked out for her and Elvis I think Elvis would have been much happier they were quite the couple
Women want men who are strong and capable, on top of things. With all the medication he was taking he just couldn't do all the things a woman wants and needs. Watching a man pass out night after night when you wish they were awake and with you as a man and woman like to be, is a very tough place to be in. I understand why she left
Linda did an awesome sharing Elvis information! Totally agree with her about the Elvis movie! I watched it and honestly I didn't care for it! The only parts I liked was Elvis performance! I saw two Elvis concerts in the 70s. Elvis gave so much through his music his religion so much respect and yes so handsome!
I just love Linda and Sam! Especially love listening to Sam when he talks. They are both so down to earth, and I can see why Elvis cared about them so much. I wish he'd been ready to settle down and get healthy with Linda, because she took such good care of him. I really believe she kept him alive, longer than he would have been otherwise.I can understand why she left, but I think she was the best match of all his long term relationships. I can't believe people still spreading the rumor that Elvis is alive. He'll always live in our hearts for sure! I just wish we'd gotten to know him as the man as well as the entertainer. He had such a generous ❤️ and was so kind as well as a fantastic sense of humor! God broke the mold when he made Elvis and there will never be another! Elvis would have been fantastic in A star is Born, another bonehead miss management by Tom Parker! I believe if he had a shot at the movies to play a part to prove his acting skills like he always wanted, I think he would've gotten off the drugs. He always rose so brilliantly to any challenges. He was the type that needed new challenges! He thrived on them! I think aside from his pain issues( dwhich he definitely had) he took more than he needed because he was stuffing his feeling's down about not being able to use his many talents. It was just about the Money for Parker and Elvis just wasn't the kind of person to confront anybody, it just wasn't in his makeup as a person. That's also the reason there's not that much video of Elvis, unless someone was going to pay for it, it didn't get done. He wasn't thinking ahead. Just like selling Elvis catalogue of music for 5million of which Elvis only got 1.5 million. Elvis and his estate could still be pulling millions in residuals. He needed money because Pricilla took him back to court for more money. His funds were low because he was supporting too many people as well as giving to strangers and charities. He really needed an accountant and a different manager! Then he wouldn't have had to work himself into the ground and maybe could've gotten his health issues under control.
Linda very beautiful , was 16 years old when Elvis died , listened to his music , my mother was a teen , when Elvis started out in the 50's !!! I'm 62 now !!!***
Linda has an important place in the life of Elvis . Even though Prescilla has selective memory. Linda is very intelligent and articulate . She was good and loyal to Elvis . Never heard a bad word from her.
It’s funny how you can feel Elvis’s spirit through people he loved . I’m not sure if people know how far Sam Thompson went in the criminal justice system. Finally becoming a federal judge . He still worked very hard to fulfill his own Career ; instead of only working for Elvis . Google his accomplishments. Quite a guy !!
I love Elvis, but he is not a religion. Elvis even knew that from the stories I've heard. I think Linda is still beautiful and a very sweet person. I can see why Elvis loved her.
I instantly became an Elvis fan in 1973 I was 13 and was watching his Aloha From Hawaii concert. I had never seen or heard anyone as fabulous as Elvis. So from 1973 all I knew was Elvis and Linda. Obviously Linda loved and cared so much for Elvis. She took great care of him. And I strongly believe had Linda still been with Elvis he would not have died on August 16 1977. Linda was always very attentive to Elvis’ needs.and Sam took great care protecting Elvis. And as far as the Colonial saying he could not provide adequate security for Elvis overseas is BS. Elvis’ entourage was between 10-15 guys plus police officers. There would have been adequate security overseas for Elvis. The Colonial because he was an illegal immigrant he could not get a passport to travel with Elvis overseas. But Elvis didn’t need the Colonial to manage an overseas tour. Jerry Weintraub or Jerry Schilling were more than capable to manage Elvis overseas.
The police that helped out on his security details in different cities said that the Memphis Mafia guys security was top notch! So that was pure BS from Parker on why Elvis couldn't tour overseas! Parker just wanted to keep Elvis under his thumb and didn't want anyone influencing Elvis like new ideas for his career or changing managers! Pure selfishness on Parker's end ! He was afraid of losing his cash cow!
Whenever Linda and Sam talk they are always non-judgemental and regale their stories with such great detail. Very uplifting reflections I feel as if I have stood in a room with Elvis too. Thank 😢you both. 😊
What a great interview Thank You Very Much for Sharing !! and just a footnote I Remember Elvis stepping on that stage 1969 Third Dinner Show A Once in a Lifetime Experience !!
Linda is so sweet even after all these years, she still talks highly of EP. Thank you Sam & Linda Thompson for being so loving and keeping Elvis alive. ❤️ We all love and adore you Linda. ❤️ I wish I was your adopted sister much love. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 and Happy New Year!!!
When Linda met Elvis she told him he should have married a southern girl. Because he was from the south. Southern people are so kind and full of generosity and humble etc. I wish they would have married. AND his cousins said that Linda was their favorite girl for Elvis. She fit in with the whole family. ❤
Thanks u for all of u that made this video for us - Me. I thank Linda & Sam for doing talking to us and answering questions for us to hear a little more about the one We All Love, Elvis. I am 65 and have loved Elvis since I was a very young 8 yr old. And Yes my Mother Loved Elvis as well. We watch every Movie that came on TV or at the Drive Inn. We listened to his albums often. But if we could afford it and could drive to the major Cities he was in or even Las Vedas, in our old car we sure would have. I sure remember when he did his Come Back Special, boy Mother and I WENT WILD. Also watch Hawaiian Special from around the World, totally awesome. That was the closest we had EVER GOTTEN to See Him In CONCERT. Mother has been gone for yrs now but I am always searching for other things about Elvis on Utube. I could listen to u for hrs. Linda I love yr personality and carding loving Soul. Sam u are funny, caring, and charming. God Bless u both. Have BLESSED HOLIDAYS.🥰🎄☃️🎁
Well Said! Like you, I fell in love with Elvis at 9 yrs old and will be 75 in a couple of weeks. I also watch any and everything I can find on UTube of Elvis and play his music all the time. His music and He is timeless! I do it so much that I've converted my youngest son into an Elvis fan big time! Now he wants to take me to Graceland on his next vacation! I've been dying to make it there before my time has come to leave this world.
Great to hear these two. Linda is such a sweet woman but why is it these women who get facial fillers & lips all look the same & have the annoying habit of keep licking their lips… facially now she looks a lot like Cher it’s uncanny & Pricilla has had so much filled too with her white face. I think out of all his women ginger is the only one who’s aged naturally
@MsPebble69 * I totally agree with everything you said, especially about Ginger. Everyone keeps saying how these other women "still" look beautiful. Take away the Botox, fillers, nips and tucks, and then you'll see how they have aged like the rest of us. 😙
Elvis was fascinated by power and had almost a slavish respect for authority. His blatant sexuality had made him famous, but he also was shy, modest, mommy's boy. These multiple aspects of his personality seemed to enhance his image, accounting for the way his appeal bridged cultural, economical, and generational gaps all over the world. Women could Lust after him or want to mother him or be his little sister. He was so macho enough for young studs to admire, but he was also devoutly religious and believed in family values. In a strange way, Elvis has become Everyman. There was always some part of him that struck a responsive chord in the listener- as if he had become a part of you, or you of him. - Joyce Bova (Elvis Girlfriend 1968-1973)
I don’t think the movie depicts EP giving up on life! 1-18-2023 we are mourning the passing of Lisa Marie! Elvis Fans are the best and tender in the most saddest of times.
Linda Thompson à bien profiter du King qui était très très généreux avec elle et sa familles, elle était là pour ses intérêts, la seule femme qui a aimée le King c'est Priscilla,❤
You know what I can’t believe is how the “ ELVIS “ movie didn’t include her in it at all as if she didn’t exist in his life and it’s supposed to be about the real life story of he’s life ? But it’s not real if she wasn’t in it !!
Met David Stanley in Foxborough Massachusetts he was in town to watch a Patriots game with his son Austin. Total Class Act! Told me some great Elvis stories! Had a great time hanging out for a few hours in the local watering hole drinking quite a few bud lights!
Tom Hanks is a smart man, he has said repeatedly that they consulted with Priscilla for the story. Priscilla once stated that she was consulted once but then never heard from Baz until the movie was completed. She wasn’t around the last few years so how can she possibly tell the whole story? Secondly, I like Priscilla and how she honors Elvis now however I do feel that if Linda was Elvis widow- there would have been a very different story told and published as truth. Elvis adored Linda and I always love her more as I hear her talk about him. I saw the movie and I left feeling so sad, I felt like they depicted him as extremely sad- and that is so unfair to him.
It’s understandable (under the circumstances) but unfortunate that she left him. I think she was an anchor in his life……I.feel terrible for saying this, but I think she was more of partner and source of strength to Elvis than Priscilla was. It would have been awesome if he had more children…maybe even a boy to carry on his family name and bloodline. Then again, it may have been difficult for a boy to grow up constantly being compared to Elvis.
Pricilla was raised to be in the spotlight & was not going to play second fiddle to anyone. Elvis was her stepping stone. Just look how it all turned out. Everyone lost but Pricilla. Elvis health was failing & Pricilla hooks up with a major fit athlete just to SHOVE IT to him. She even brought Stone to an Elvis concert! UNBELIEVABLE.
Agreed. Linda really loved and cared for him. As she says, he lived after '72, his life didn't end after the divorce! Billy and Jo said the same, many holidays and lots of fun at Graceland the last 5 years of his life. It's true also what Linda said indirectly, Baz (and Priscilla) have tried to rewrite history and portray in the Elvis movie that he had no life after the divorce except moping for Priscilla and being unhappy! He moved on with his life. Linda speaks well of Elvis unlike his ex!
I didn’t care for the movie ELVIS it was loud, I couldn’t understand one word of Tom Hanks, and I feel the movie as Linda stated for sure held back a lot of the details of Elvis’s last years…. Priscilla had a huge hand in this movie. I was sorry I bought the movie on Amazon Prime, hearing all the rave reviews, i automatically bought it thinking I would watch it over and over again…I was never more disappointed in a movie then when I watched
I disagree about the story line of "A Star is Born" being the reason the Colonel didn't want Elvis to do the movie! There is a You Tube interview by Jon Peters, the producer and boyfriend of Barbra Streisand at the time, verifying that the Colonel wanted too much money. They both told the Colonel to go f***k himself! Also, Linda didn't "leave" Elvis. She even states in her book that Elvis told her he had his plane flown into Vegas for her suggesting she may like to go visit her family in Memphis. In the meantime, his "new interest" was flown IN to Vegas on that same plane. Elvis professed his undying love for Linda and sent her home. That's when she knew it was really over. Her father helped her pack her things and move out of Graceland. She and Elvis didn't speak again until months later. What's up with that (???) Don't get me wrong, I like Linda and I think she was the best thing to happen to Elvis after his divorce, and I wish they had stayed together, but her interpretation of their split has changed since her book. What's up with that (?)
@@no288 For one thing, both Jerry and Myrna confirmed that Elvis was excited about the role and chance to prove he could do dramatic acting but Parker jacked up the payout so high to where he knew they would say no. They were there with Elvis when she met with him about the role. Parker knew it would draw Elvis away from Vegas and touring which was where the money was. He never cared one bit about Elvis. The Movie exposed that.
I think of all the ladies in Elvis’s life’ Linda Thompson is the most beautiful’ although l don’t agree with her choices in marriages and not particularly fond of her last marriage’ l sort of feel that she used her beauty as a way to wealth , success and happiness, although she can not help that she is beautiful and l guess l would have been the same way if l were in her place but l sure would have loved it if she could have been more Spiritual because her personality alone could have brought a lot of young and old alike to the Lord , also her Brother Sam is such a humble and nice person, the parents of these two must be very proud, l just think that these two would have been such a blessing in the Spiritual field a servant for God ! but so could l “🙏❤️, don’t judge least you be judged !
Unlike the gold-digging Ginger Alden whom according to Billy Smith, Elvis's 1st cousin and confidante Elvis was looking for a way to dump her, Linda genuinely loved and cared for Elvis, she even saved his life, I always got the sense she was and is a class act ,not to mention beautiful.
Excuse me I heard Vernon say that Ginger was a woman Elvis loved!!! He told his Dad I finally am happy and love Ginger!! So it's stupid because I believe Elvis Dad before I'd believe his cousin! Geeez
Linda and Sam are two of the most dedicated humans to Elvis Presley. They would never divulge a secret or secrets if their friend. Elvis would need several people like them if he were to fake his death. Is he dead, I don't really know. I do know that the coffin and the body presented in that famous picture was not Elvis. Perhaps Sam was guarding another casket...but the one presented to the public was not him.
He looked 25 in that coffin, not a full-faced 42 year old Elvis. Maybe it was a wax figure because they were worried someone wouldn't steal his body ? They could demand a ransom. There's so many secrets around Elvis it's hard to know what the truth is sometimes.
Linda Thompson really needs to stop trying to be so relevant Elvis sweet talked her just like he did so many other woman especially the ones he was with while he was with her ..How can she keep embarrassing herself letting people know that she was played for a fool so what by who this woman must of had such low self esteem to allow herself to be taken advantage of. Why doesn't she tell her story of how she married one of the most famous champoins had two children than turned Transgender now thats a story
@@lorimiller4301Except it's not it's just a distraction from dealing with emotions. It's a very unhealthy way to deal with separation and it can make the previous person feel like they never meant that much if the other person could move on so fast
Linda is full of it sometimes. She cheated & Elvis dumped her. She wanted marriage & Elvis was not willing to ever marry again because he knew he was not going to be faithful & it would end up a mess. Elvis professed LOVE to many girls he was with & let them believe he would marry them, although he only officially proposed to Dixie and Pricilla & perhaps Ginger. Listen to the phone call to Anita and how Elvis is manipulating her into believing that he is a faithful guy & when he marries he does not want a nagging wife who does not trust him. The gaslighting is heavy. Its not a nice thing to break young girls hearts to keep them around until you replace them. Elvis gave many of them cars, clothing & massive amounts of jewelry & even bought Linda and her brother and parents EACH a home. So the beautiful boy is not a total cad but wanted & maintained a stable of young women.
@Momma Knos Elvis was telling lies to every girl he met was going to marry them. Well not every girl. Very sad He did them wrong. Well, Elvis was so used to it. He couldn't help himself but lie to them. Lol seen that video phone call you're talking about. Very sad 😔
Linda is not so wonderful .She charges 1000$ to talk to you at Graceland .That is just disgusting .Who is she really? Just a woman that dated Elvis one of many .
If linda was the wive of elvis, they wood still be married and i believe that lisa mary was stil living.. Even if elvis had past away.. Prescilla never new what true love is.. It is always about her, and her fame.. Even in this new film.. Its all about her legacy and not about elvis presley s true livestory.. Or the feelings of lisa mary presley beiing the daughter of elvis, and the still greeving mom she was.. I dont have good words for prescilla presley, who is claiming that elvis was the love of her life.... Bull s. t‼️... He is just an income, source of money and the way to keep her fame... But elvis is still not good enough in her eyes.. She blames him for everything she isnt and cant be.. Like a wonderfull human beiing like elvis is.... ❤️And linda.. You are in my eyes the one who deserved his love and attention.. Just because the way you are and the way you love him... Still, till this day... 🌹💋❤️i love to hear more stories about the two of you.. even, i didnt miss any of them in the past💫elvis presley will always live on, in our harts, and lis mary.. it so sad to lose you at such a jung age.. but i think you are now thogeter with the ones you love the most.. rust in pease💕🙏🌹and i hope that the tree children of you, here... will find there way to have pease with the loss of you.. and that they find there way to live on.. to find there own desteny, lord.. give them the power🙏❣️❣️❣️
@Lisa...."And that wedding thing, that wedding thing ...I had nothing to do with that. That was railroaded through. I didn't even know who was there, we were in side that little room about the size of a bathroom with a supreme court justice. It was in there and over and done with so quick I didn't even realize that I was married." - Elvis 1976
Linda was 1000x’s better for Elvis then Piss Cilla - Piss Cilla was there along with her family for what they could get and that was proven when she brought Elvis back to court after their initial Divorce. That cost him and the estate huge because he was basically broke at the time and he told Colonel that he needed money and Greedy Colonel brought up to Elvis about selling all of his prior records and rights to them to RCA for 4-5 million. Those were his greatest hit Music from 1954-1972. They do not own the rights to those today. While married, Piss Cilla father asked Elvis for money to open a store. Elvis gave to that family as he did to his last Girlfriend, Ginger. Elvis wanted to marry Ann Margret to be honest. But, Piss Cilla father called in his marker on Elvis. If you don’t marry my daughter I will go to the press and ruin your career Ala Jerry Lee Lewis. So, in other words, Elvis was blackmailed into marring Piss Cilla. Hell, Didn’t Lisa Marie call Linda when Elvis died before her own mother ?? Tells a lot to be honest !
He should have paid Pricilla whatever she needed. She is the one and ONLY mother of his child. Elvis did what he wanted to do. If he didn’t want to marry Pricilla he wouldn’t have simple as that. Elvis was broke because he had a crooked manager and an inexperienced president of EP enterprises. Pricilla’s family like ALL the friends and families of the MM got money, cars, homes from Elvis he was extremely generous to friends and family. He loved Pricilla and was close with her until the day he died. Lisa Marie said in an interview that she didn’t realize her parents weren’t a couple anymore because they were extremely close . I don’t get the Pricilla hate. It’s weird. He’s been dead since 1977. You don’t have to hate Pricilla to like Linda, or even Ginger
