Multi effects units from Line 6 don't vary all the much in the sound they produce, so it's no surprise that the X3 LIVE is just as excellent as its brothers and sisters. I think it comes down to what kind of physical layout you prefer.
Fair comment. There’s a lot of development in multi effects but the truth is that there are plenty of older units that still really compete. Thanks for watching 👍
Ooohhhh you're really speaking my language now! I have a long-standing affection for the Zoom 3030. It's embarrassing to even look at now - so dated - and it's not great to operate but it has some seriously quirky sounds that I've not heard on any other processor. Another notable weirdo is the Roland Juno G which is a synth as you know, but it has an effects path that allows you to sequence the parameters of effects, so your reverb can snap on and off, you can snip out rhythm patterns and so on. It's effects chip is from the Boss GT-6 I believe, another one of my all-time favourite processors. Gearfacts started as a channel all about weird guitar effects but over time it steered more towards keyboards. It was great to receive your question!@@junkheadyamiken
Thanks, Med. Yes you can drop-tune very easily with the pitch-shifter. Some people say that the notes come through a little bit weaker though, if you are using this method. It sounds ok to me :) Gearfacts
hey mate. SO, I have a podx3 pedal and just got a spider 2 amp from my dad ... Do you know anything about if I can use the variax cable to just have a neutral output from the amp/ bypass the build in modelling/ use the pedal board? Cheers!
One wonderful feature of a pod x3 live is it's ability to be used as a computer DAW interface for direct recording. No mic's needed! Plug her into a USB on the computer and away ya go! Sounds incredible! With the versatility of the pod, you can dial in any sound you can imagine! Best thing I ever bought.. Had a kid that didn't know how to run it who advertised it on craigslist for 100 bucks.. I offered him 80 and he took it! Hooray! Best piece of versatile equipment in my arsenal!
I own pod x3 live and used it to record trough usb port but I and many others, if you check the forums ,have experienced usb dropouts. It fucks up your audio until you restart your PC. I've tried to pinpoint why this happens but with no success. Even like this i love it and use it daily.
@@oriyus How unfortunate! Mine is rock solid when I use it straight into my DAW. I have never experienced dropouts with mine, using it on three separate computers! It may be the DAW you are using is having communication problems with the X3 Live? I'm sure you have tried other USB cords and such? I use a real old DAW though, and maybe it is more suited to the X3 Live in communicating with it. (Magix Audio Studio 7). Good luck with an problem solving in the future. I sure hope you get the bugs out so you can record like the wind! KADJ, up up and away...
@@kadj1016 There have been people returning the unit for part replacement considering this problem but it was years ago when Line 6 was still giving support for this product. I've had it for ~10 years , different daws/ different usb ports/windows instalations / computers.... nothing solved it.
I just got one of these at a pawn shop for a really good price, but i can't find a decent demo video. Like running it through the fx loop, can you add pedals before or after it in a chain?, why do so many settings sound like music dragged through mud. I know this thing can do some killer stuff, I just need to find the right video.
It's a very distortion-oriented pedal I think. You can certainly add other effects before or after it, in just the same way as if it were a normal (single) pedal. The manual is on the Line 6 website or you can just google "Line 6 POD X3 live PDF" and it should appear. Hope that helps :)
@@frayedsanity hmmm wow that’s a good question! Done hundreds of videos since this one so it’s be hard to remember. I probably recorded it from the headphone socket direct to my cameras aux socket. So not exactly top-shelf studio audio.
Maybe you should donate to the channel so its worth his time to even do what youre asking on top of buying all this gear and running the channel. Or review the gear yourself. To truly review the gear you should play every single note on the guitar chromatically and in every pickup and tone variation lol not play free bird and then call it good. People who want this pedal are probably those who are wanting to tone shape and get expiremental
