Dudes been beating the shit out of random people for 10 years hoping they’d be Xehanort. Imagine how happy he is to find not one, but 13 different Xehanorts all in one spot
For those who missed it, it isn't chance that Lingering Will suddenly intervened here when he didn't the first time around. It was for-shadowed by a missable cutscene in The Final World where Sora talks to Namine's heart. She explains she managed to find shards of memory fragments belonging to Terra which made it to The Final World, and was trying to trace them back to their source, saying she'd try to help them. She managed to wake up Lingering Will, leading to it gate crashing the party when it sensed Xehanort.
I just love how there's never a moment that LW isn't in control. Like even when Terranort gets out of the whip, he immediately shifts to Ultima Cannon without missing a beat. Then when they duel in the Sky, Terranort can't get out of the defensive. Just goes to show why you don't mess with a superboss lol
It's hinted that Lingering Will also holds a subconscious copy of Eraqus's memories in terms of his combat abilities (due to how memory and heart split when they hide inside a persons body and Lingering Will being purely a manifestation of Mind inhabiting Terra's armour), so it's basically Terranort vs Terraqus.
@@vc180191 no there isnt. eraqus was lurking and chilling with terra and xehanort inside terra's body. its a shame terranort didnt use ultima cannon to counter LW's UC.
@@Gouilaa4me Eraqus's heart was with Terra's heart and Xehanort's heart, but what about Eraqus's mind? Is it inside Terranort, or is it inside the Lingering Will along with Terra's mind?
After he beat Xehanort the first time, LW got the ability "EXP Kneel": It's like EXP Walker, but instead he gains 1 exp point for every second he stays still in one place.
There's an explanation for that: When Ansem and Xemnas were beat, both Terra and MX were assimilated separately. But MX pulled the heart of past Terranort to the present (probably from just after he took over Terra), dumped that into Terra's body and placed Terra's heart in the guardian. That's why Terranort doesn't know, he hasn't fought Lingering Will.
@@Dunkingsonn But like Master Xehanort did send out a Gummi Phone text in the group chat saying "btw, there's a pissed off sentient peice of armor that wants to murder me, so just try to avoid it or it will fuck you up"
@@silverclaw1026 I believe the point made up above already explains it. All the Organization members in 3 came from the past as hearts. Terranort was brought forward as he was possesed- just before the Lingering Will fight. That is why he doesn't recognize Lingering Will as an opponent: this version of Terranort never fought him.
Imagine being terranort in this situation All the protagonists are clumped UP together in one place You use your monologue to set the climate Boss music starts playing And then you notice that It isn't yours Boss music
There is literally no better moment ever in the history of fantasy for the phrase, "How I've waited, for this moment" to be spoken ever. We all felt it was Terra said that.
Actually one guy made a KHII mod that lets you play as KHII Lingering Will with all the powers from when he fought Sora. You should check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sGrF169ecA4.html
I don't mind the fact that LW showed up and then vanished again 2 minutes later but that fight should have been an actual boss battle not just a cinematic so they could at least pad out his screen time somewhat.
How terrifying is it that someone's mind kneeling in 1 place for about 11-12 years is able to totally over power the main villain so effortlessly, especially since that villain in question is using the mind's body-
What's even crazier is an explanation I saw on Reddit of how, the whole time Xehanort controlled Terra's body, he had three hearts within him. There was Xehanort's, Terra's, and Eraqus as we learn at the end, when Eraqus confronts Xehanort. So Lingering Will was able to overpower three Keyblade wielding hearts while wielding a keyblade of its own without a heart. His will is just that strong.
I think a missed opportunity was having the Lingering Will speak still through the means of metallic moans. Its metallic shouts would of been epically deafening, and full of rage!
Lingering will is just an epic entity that lingers around the Keyblade Graveyard and is probably the only "living thing" that lives there, a set of armor filled with rage, anger, hatred, for Xehanort, just kneeling to his keyblade for years and a decade, until he get to fight Terranort again.
Guardian is Terra's Heartless. Heartless are mindless beings. LW is Terra's mind and soul. Suddenly Guardian being able to talk and control himself? Terra did it.
I love how he totally owns him with *every single move.* Steals his Keyblade before he can even react, blasts him with the cannon the second he tries to counter and literally rushes at him when he tries to recover.
Well, the first time around, Donald casts his big Zettaflare spell with that dramatic powerup sequence in the time it took Xehanort to take one step after being knocked back by Goofy. Gotta love cutscene power.
Would have been interesting if, rather than what happened, we had a mass 8 vs 7 battle in the last area rather than the group battles, with the main -Norts (Terra, Young, Ansem and Xemnas) being forced to contain The Lingering Will from going on a complete rampage. Could have ended with Lingering Will eventually going down, overwhelmed and defeated by sheer numbers, but buying the Light side enough time to kill a few of the -Norts before the rest regrouped, losing them their numbers advantage.
I'm honestly surprised that WASN'T the case. Hell, I think Master Xehanort himself would've gotten involved with the other "mains" because since the LW is literally nothing but a disembodied anger animating Keyblade Armor and wielding a Keyblade, it's neither a Keyblade Wielder of Light, Darkness, or Heart. If the LW killed even a single one of the other Thirteen Darknesses, Master Xehanort's plans would've been completely and utterly ruined. Having Master Xehanort and the other Norts all fighting the Will at once would've been absolutely justified, and of course the Will would go down, but not before the Mains were exhausted, on top of the Seven Lights taking the chance to thin out the enemy numbers like you said. The thought of Master Xehanort seriously sweating over the Will crashing his big plans is just too satisfying on its own. Imagine if that happened.
I've loved Kingdom Hearts for a long time, but the fact is that 3 kind of disappointed me. By the time I beat it I had more questions and very few answers... But this scene, this moment for LW to come back and kick Xenahort around for a while was so f-ing cool.
so the thnig that struck me is, Sora jumped back in time dragging along everyones hearts, so he must have known what was about to happen, and still he did nothing different, if the lingering will hadnt intervened Ven would still have taken a keyblade hit, removing him from the fight
Aqua: Sora, you're making a weird face right now. Why is that? Sora: No reason *PTSD flashbacks start* Ventus: Terra! Aqua: No, Ven! Them first. Sora: She's right, Xehanort is dead! Ven: How could you know?! Sora: Trust me, i speak from experience... *PTSD flashbacks start again* Aqua: Sora, your face is weird again Sora: Agh, laser cannon!... Ajem, you're imagining things senpai.
While you're doing your research the Lingering Will is training. All this time you've been trying to extend your life, the Lingering Will has been training. Through all your plots, the Lingering Will has been doing literally nothing but training with no need for sleep or sustenance for the day it can clap those cheeks again. And you have the arrogance to think that if you go back there for even a five second monologue he won't be on you like a fly on shit?
Just remember no matter what this game says in BBS Lingering Will beats the living shjt out of TerraNort. Dude was only saved by the XBlade blowing up lol
I love Kingdom Hearts 3, but definitely the worst part is that the game is basically “Sora go grind” and then the entire story happens in the final level/battle. Kingdom Hearts 2 had the best art direction, best villain, best story and best characters. And Kingdom Hearts is at its best when it is doing super weird trippy things ignoring FF and Disney characters. Like the dream world openings and the final levels in the first two games.
I really hope when Re mind DLC comes out we see what happens to the Lingering Will, I’m still confused about what happened, so Terras mind obviously is the lingering will and his heart is in Ansems guardian but if that’s the case, then when he got his body back did the lingering will Armor just collapse since Terra got his body back 🤷♂️ hopefully in Re mind it explains it better.
The armor collapses, what keeps the armor together and moves it is Terra's will and rage against Xenanort's control over his body (Remember the dialoge on BBS "Why does your mind resist?") So when he regains total control over his body his mind and emotions don't need to fight back the body control because is not longer there.
@@Amsel_616 yeah true but after the lingering will fights xehanort he just goes away and then thats when it was revealed that terra was the guardian, and also in the DLC we see lingering will fight xehanort again so hopefully it plays out in a better understanding, and we actually never got to see the Armour collapse, but im sure it did of course.
For some reason its make me cry from excitement and not only that but every time I play kh3 I feel like my uncle is watching behind me and when I look back hes not there cause he loves kingdom hearts and ik he watches me play so he can know what's going on in the story
