I have this radio installed but it seems like the harness that came with it is faulty, do you sell the harness with the brain as well or do you know where I can get one, the place I purchased it can't help, they just told me to buy another harness?
I just had this radio installed in my 2013 RAM. Looks great and I'm still learning about the details to make it "my own". I see AC controls, what about heater controls?
Can you see if you connect this unit into a 2015 - 2018 chrysler 300 !? Just to see if the radio itself with actually work and be fully operational in the 300. They have pretty much the same uconnect system and I'm just curious if this tesla style android radio they are providing for the Ram will also work in the 300 or not. They currently don't have one available for the 300 with attached housing like this but I'd just take the radio from the ram plastic housing and just customize the housing myself to retro fit it into a Chrysler 300.
The radio itself may work. The Climate control buttons on the bottom would be rendered inoperable due to the Ram and 300 being very different there. The Unit itself can be powered with any normal power and ground, so the Android tablet and radio can be used as a radio and tablet in any vehicle with a certain amount of customizing, but would have dead icons with all of the vehicle climate controls.
There are 3 camera inputs. Rear, Right, and Front. The Rear camera will automatically display when the vehicle is put into reverse. The right will activate with the right turn signal and the front is accessed through the "Camera" icon. All three cameras can be accessed through the icon as well. Inputs are basic RCA inputs. It comes with an AUX video/audio and a DVR video ONLY input. You will also be able to maintain the factory USB input as well as gain a second USB. The USB can be used for audio and video from a Thumb Drive. We will also be able to retain the factory CD player if your vehicle is equipped with it. This currently will use the AUX input though.
Ok Im stuck hope you can help. I have a 2015 and it came with a OEM backup camera. When I switch it to reverse it wont come on the screen. I can get it to come on if I go into the camera mode manually but thats it. Any ideas?
The cam has to have 12 volts wired..otherwise you have to manually turn it on which activates the 12 volts...you have it wired to the wrong power source
Our current model comes with front and rear RCA Outputs. The PAC Audio Amp pro 4 would still work if you prefer using that. Our unit works just as the factory radio does.
Alfred ibarra we offer updates for the system as a whole if there are needed updates. But when it comes to the Android version that isn’t an updateable feature because when we move up in Android Platforms the requirements of what hardware we have used to build the tablet have to change with it. So it would allow us to move software across the different Generations.
@@LinksWellInc I am also needing a picture of how all the wires should be connected and then connected to unit. I have one cable not connected to anything and my backup camera isn't working when put in reverse.
I got mine installed on my 2014 Ram Ecodiesel, but im only getting sounds from the rear speakers. Will you be able to tell me what to connect to get the front speakers working. Thank you
Were could I get a Can bus Interface for my harness ? I bout one Second hand and that was the only thing missing I installed it and noticed that the canbus interface was missing so it wouldn’t even power on ?
All the buttons on the steering wheel work, apart from the voice button due to our unit not having a voice control system in it. For the info between the cluster and unit, we are able to send a limited amount of info to the cluster.
@@troyperezsr The truth of the situation is we are an aftermarket radio and so we don't do everything factory does, but we do a lot that the factory doesn't. So when it comes to what will display on the cluster. The only things that change are the audio system display. So we can display the stereos source and some of the data from that source but it wont be as in depth as the factory. The rest of the cluster features remain the same.
We don't sell to the retail public. If you fill out the "contact us" section on our website we can connect you with one of our dealers. www.linkswellinc.com/contact-us/
We get that question a lot. We have put in a lot time in our product development and software work. The biggest concern that was expressed to us through beta testing was to be sure we didn't have issues with the climate controls like many of the others have. Ours will also come loaded with Navigation. The others use a data based navigation system which requires the use of a cell phones hot spot, ours can do both. They may seem the same but there are big and significant differences in quality of function and product development.
We can not say what the other companies use in their manufacturing, we can say for sure we do indeed have some differing hardware that allows our unit to work better and makes it much more reliable. Our CANBUS interfaces, among other some other important parts are all created in house.
@@mikegreensill1020 not sure why you paid 3 grand. That is quite a bit over MSRP…. That is the first concern. Second is no aftermarket radio offers 2 inputs for a reverse camera. It’s just not a thing. We have 2 other camera inputs which 90% of other aftermarket radios don’t have. They just aren’t designed to work as secondary reverse cameras. Wanting to flip between different cameras in the same input will need a switcher on all radios. Just the nature of it all. Dodge built into their radio 2 inputs. The only company that does that actually. Ford’s multi camera set ups actually have their own external switcher. We can retain those because we can control their switcher. All their cameras go to a module then a single video signal to the screen. With Dodge bringing 2 video signals to the radio makes it need an extra part. Sorry you feel we should be able to do more.
You can. But the CanBox is what tells the radio what to do. It is how the radio knows the truck is turned on, that the lights are on or off, if doors are open, if the truck is in reverse. Without the CanBox the radio doesn’t know what to do.
That is the issue, currently we are working on rewriting the software for the mid line truck protocol to include the factory CD. Our current software for the High End works with the CD, but when we were in product development we didn't test in a truck that was Mid with the Cd. Was an oversight on our part that we are currently working on an update to fix. Many apologies.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas why my AUX is not working, I keep on getting " NO SIGNAL" on the screen. I did the AUX connections according to the instructions that came with as well as this video. I really appreciate anyone can help me.
We are working on a Carplay, Android Auto look alike system that would work via an app and external harness. We should have them available in the next month.
@@LinksWellInc If i were to purchase this today, would i need the external harness for Android auto or will it work thru bluetooth like the factory radio?
@@troyperezsr Our Bluetooth will not support wireless Carplay or Android Auto. You can stream music via Bluetooth or you can use our Phonelink system and plug your phone into the USB and use the CarPlay/Android Auto system.
@@LinksWellInc ok. I'm trying to purchase one of this but they said , there is 3 options for the AC. Is 4sp, 7sp, and automatic AC. And I have the same truck as this in the video
That isn't our unit unfortunately. So we wont be able to do much to help, but it sounds like they might have sent you the parts for a truck with the factory amplified system and your truck is equipped with the standard audio. You would have to reach out to their tech support and see if they can get you the right parts.
Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to do that either, our units are different, with different CAN BUS adaptors, harnesses and software. So our parts like harnesses are not cross compatible.
@@LinksWellInc How the radio know if my truck in on reverse gear?? Theres no OBD cable plugged and no Trigger wire from the reverse light. Theres only the Yellow RCA PLUG who is connected to the oem cam.
A friend of mine has got a question about connecting 2 cables. He's seeing, that they're connected in your video but doesn't see nor know where they're connected. Here's a picture of the mentioned cables: dropbox dot com/s/ev971a27micapx7/IMG-20180805-WA0006.jpg?dl=0 Sadly you can't write private messegas anymore and you don't have an e-mail in your channel info. Thanks in advance.
