I installed this in my 2013 Ram 3500 two months ago and it is a great radio I am so happy that I got rid of that garbage 8-inch screen. The people I purchased it from ADC Mobile has videos on here also and the owner gave me his cell phone number just in case I had problems installing it which took all of one hour. One thing that I did change is that I use Nova Launcher on mine because it is better launcher than the factory launcher. I highly recommend this and Walt at ADC Mobile. As for how it works, I tow a fifth wheel and still have all my settings that I need. If you see that little dimple on the right side of the radio there that is from using a drill driver DO NOT USE ONE OF THOSE or you will over tighten the screw and cause the dimple, use a regular screwdriver and do NOT over tighten the screws at all.
Do you have to update or download anything for the gps and how is so? I searched for your video you mentioned couldn’t find it! Please let me know I’m going to try to installing it myself
I have a 2017 1500 laramie has air ride heated/cooled seats auto wipers and high beams and other stuff my stock 8.4 unconnect radio controls will I lose all those controls
The sun and any bright reflections makes it impossible to see the display on the first generation style. Does this unit have the same mirroring effect as well?
I have a 2008 Ram 2500. I know the screen bezel itself will not fit in my dash bezel. Pending your answer to my question I plan to get a used bezel and modify it to fit the linkswell bezel. Would it still not work due to the wiring configurations (both the radio and AC)?
Paul West you are correct. The CANBUS system in the 2008 is very different from the 2014-up. So it would be a much bigger job then just the physical mounting of the unit. We do have a universal Double Din T-Style that gives you the same size screen and Android features but in a universal install. So it won’t do anything for your Climate Controls. But it installs as simply as any other industry standard Double Din Radio. We have a short video on our channel showing a few of the features. We will have an install and functions video soon as well.
Our systems come with everything needed to install and retain the factory steering wheel controls. The only button we don't support is the voice control button because we do not have any voice controls built into our radio.
I have the 2017 ram 1500 with Alpine sound system. After I connected the t style radio I only have sound output from 2 speakers only either the front or the back. How can I fix that? What did I miss?
Ayman Almadani the Alpine system actually only has one set of inputs. So it takes the signal from the 2 speakers and then makes all the speakers play. The Alpine faded was done digitally through the factory radio which we can’t reproduce. So if you plug the HI plug in. You should have all 4 speakers playing, you just wouldn’t be able to use the fader. I hope that makes sense.
I've moded my oem 8.4 so that i also can watch movies on it (lockpic or something, literally just a different cabl harness). I wonder if this also will work with this t-style.
Not sure what you are asking. Are you asking if you can install a factory 12” screen into an older model truck? If so we couldn’t say. We are the manufacturer of the radio in this video. We aren’t a shop installing other product. Or If your asking if we make a 12” for the new Ram yes we do. You can find our video on that system on your channel.
What unit/setup would I need for a 2015 Laramie Longhorn? Would I lose the features below 1. Voice command + button on steering wheel. 2. Satellite 3. GPS 4. Vehicle diagnostics 5. Factory mic 6. Ability to adjust vehicle parameters such as rain sensing wipers, automatic high beams, comfort controls for cold weather, etc.
Anthony Arredondo you will lose voice control because we don’t have a system voice control. Only within the app. Sat radio we are still working with a SiriusXM to develop our interface. GPS we can run data based systems or we can install a built in one. Not sure which vehicle diagnostics you are referring to? We do not retain the factory mic, using our own mic gives us better quality control. We retain about 90% of the vehicle programming options.
@@LinksWellInc Thank you for the reply. The Diagnostics I am referring to apply to the uconnect system. It does a monthly parameter check on all systems, senors etc and generates a report. I was hoping your system had some like this. In regard to the programming functionality, do you know which of the following I would lose? 1. Safety & Driving assistance a. Park sensor volume b. Tilt side mirrors in reverse - on/pff c. Rain sensing auto wipers - on/off d. Hill Start assist 2. Lights a. Headlight off & interior illumination delay. b. Headlights with wipers - on/off c. Auto dim high beams d. Flash lights with lock - on/off 3. Auto-on Comfort 4. Engine off options a. Engine off Power delay b. Headlight off delay 5. Trailer Brake settings - can save 4 Different trailers. a. Heavy Electric; light electric or hydraulic; Heavy electric over hydraulic. I do tow quite a bit and would specifically need this adjustability. Thanks for the reply.
I bought a 2018 ram but it doesn’t come with a touchscreen radio at all, will I be able to see my tailgate camera on my new screen or will I still have to use my mirror
I’ve been looking to purchase as I’ve just installed a regular double din fir the time being in my Ram but i also have a entire aftermarket system in my truck with 4 channels pre amp out puts and a 2 channel sub out put ...my question is does your unit offer a 4 channel as well as a 2 channel sub output thanks in advance and look forward to getting if it has what i need
How well does this radio work with the 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie with auto climate controls and other truck settings like air ride suspension and lighting?
2013 is a split year. Not all 2013's will work with our system we would need to see your dash to confirm. Regarding the settings, is the air ride only programable through the radio screen? What lighting are you referring too?
So long as the dash is the same it will work. Dodge has a few radio options for this dash style. So as long as your dash style is the same it will work.
William Hillock we have our first working test system that we are testing currently. So if the test go good we should have it available early next year.
nishes shrestha there isn’t an actual mic on the face anymore. We removed it due to an issue with an echo in calls. We just haven’t done the work to retool the molds.
The speakers would just be backwards. But our new harnesses now are the same one with a plug in the middle you use to change between amplified and non amplified.
I need technical help with your px6 I was hoping you could help. I have a 2017 ram 1500 Laramie with auto A/C with alpine stereo and subwoofer. I replaced all my speakers, and bypassed the factoy amplifier using a specific T-harness, and maestro unit by iDatlink (the link is below) this allows me to connect directly to an aftermarket amplifier and Maestro unit ( kenwood XR600-6DSP) allowing me to keep my factory headunit so I can retain all vehicle systems. This system I installed worked flawlessly and sounded fantastic. After alot of thought I decided to install a tesla style headunit, once connected everything worked except all the audio, the Headunit has rca outputs for external amplifiers but the kenwood amp has no rca inputs. The kenwood amp, t-harness and Maestro unit were all designed to work together to bypass the amp. The amp connects through the T-harness so I can't use the Px6's rca outputs. Would it be possable to used the same headunit but use the wire harness deaigned for the trunk with no amplifer since I bypassed the amp in my original deaign, as of now the store will not allow me to return this, so I am trying to salvage this. Sorry long post I appreciate any help. maestro.idatalink.com ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--7GgmEbGiRo.html
jim g can you send some pictures to me via email? Pictures of the harnesses your talking about. Pictures of the back of the radio. Send them to jon@linkswellinc.com
It would but you would need to add a camera switcher. The Dodge trucks cameras all have individual signals at the radio. We only have a single reverse camera input. So you would need to add a switcher in-between the radio and all the cameras you want to see while in reverse. We have a front and side input as well but those will not work while in reverse.
David J we don’t do installs or sell direct to the public. But we have a find a retailer tab on our website that you can use to find a local dealer that can get you the radio and install it for you.
I just noticed that you said it also comes with the front camera because the stereo shop that I went to wanted to charge me for the front camera And navigation
What wires have to be intercepted to add a cargo camera when backing up? I know to add a switch and intercept the tailgate camera but when backing up I need the cargo camera to come on when hooking up my 5th wheel. Not sure what wires to intercept and attach to my two-way switch that I have to install.
@@LinksWellInc When you say the RCA there are several in yellow red and white. As well the other side for the tail gate camera and cargo camera wires. Which ones?
@@MarioElzen they all should be marked. So you would take the cargo camera and the tail gate camera RCAS plug them into the external switcher, that take the output from the external switcher and plug it into the reverse camera input on our radio.
Great presentation and very informative video. Would this be compatible with my tailgate cam which has a camera interface (PAC) BCI-CH4I. My truck is a RAM 1500 2016. Please advise. Thank you.
earlwin aguillon it works with the tailgate camera. Though I am not sure what the PAC piece does so I couldn’t say for sure how it would play into the system.
Working on building our Sirius tuner. Should start testing in a week or so. Time correction, are you talking about individual speaker time alignment? We have a sub out but the control and crossovers are very basic.
My 2014 Ram doesn't have a back up camera. Will I be able to install any back up camera, say like the license plate camera, and it work with this. Also can the back up camera and front face camera both record footage in the event of an accident?
Christopher Baker the system has a universal camera input. So it can work with the Factory or an aftermarket. As for recording unfortunately no. We do offer a USB DVR that will record and you can control it on the screen. But our system doesn’t have a way of recording on its own. It would require an external DVR of some sort.
Lou Indorato the only system we have that would work in the 2009 would be our Universal 10.1” Double Din T-Style Radio. You would need to get all the 3rd party parts needed to install a double Din radio, the install kit, antenna adaptors and harness adaptors. The Universal system does everything the vehicle specific systems do except control the climate controls.
I installed one in my truck it’s not a bad system but has a lot of static from my Apple Pay end it takes a long time to start up if I’m in a rush and I need to reverse camera I have to wait
Felix Gonzalez the PhoneLink app has updates that should fix the issue with the CarPlay. The camera also should work before the radio boots up as well. You should need to wait?
Renzo Benjumea where do you have the yellow microphone plug plugged into? Where did you mouth the mic? And make sure the wire didn’t get pinched or cut where you ran it.
We are the manufacturer and don't sell direct retail. We do have a find a dealer tab on our website that will list local dealers by Zipcode, or you can purchase online through one of our online dealers like Adc Mobile.
Unfortunately it will not. Our unit will only go back to the 2013 truck. We do have a universal T-Style that with the use of some 3rd party parts (Install kit and wire harness) would install into your truck. You can see the install video for that system in this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7u0DBZe1DFI.html Hope this helps.
I bought this radio but now is makes my alpine sounds system sound like trash ... All my speakers sound blown and my subwoofers sound like they are cracking instead of hitting the bass .. Any help??
Blake Larson we just released our GM System with the 7.1, and the Jeep JL System with 8.0. When we tested the 6.0 when we were building the GEN 1 and 2’s, Android 6 was failing so we stayed back on Android 4.4.4 to assure the least amount of issues. So far In our testing 7.1 and 8.0 have been solid but before we switch every system over we want to be sure. So as long as the GM and Jeep systems don’t report any issues caused by the operating system over the next 6 or so months we will begin the software rewrite for the Ford and Ram systems to run most likely the 7.1.
@@spazoq Doing product development on out of production vehicles is much harder, and requires much more thought and work. Because they will not be building any more your customer base is what is already out there, that hasn't already been modified or is no longer on the road, or that someone would be willing to spend over a $1,000 on for a radio. It also makes having access to all the different trim levels much harder. With new vehicles we have access to them at dealerships, older vehicles not so much. Its a constant game of searching. So when we are trying to be sure we can account for each different option in a vehicle not having a ready access of cars makes that much harder. With that said though, we have begun the process of developing a system for the previous model of the GM. Though due to the things mentioned earlier the development will be slower then with a newer model.
Willie Porche you can use the XM APP through your phone or download it directly to the tablet itself. We are in product development to make a separate tuner that will work without data. We should have something in the next month.
Our radios require the removal of the factory radio. So we don't retain the SiriusXM. We will have SiriusXM support once our interface is approved by SiriusXM. Until then you would have to either use the app on the radio or the app on your phone through the PhoneLink or Bluetooth.
@@funwithdirt7076 yes. SiriusXM is proprietary and you have to first be approved to enter development. Then have to have your interface approved. We were approved to start over 2 years ago. And they have 4 of our radios as working test units currently and we are working through each step. So we will have interface approval at some point but we don’t know when.
@@LinksWellInc awesome. Thanks! Final question. Does the installation completely disable all vehicle voice commands or just commands that pertain specifically to radio functions? Phone calls in particular.
@@funwithdirt7076 it removes the voice commands all together. The voice commands are part of UConnect system. Our radio doesn’t have a voice control program. Some phones will let you use the voice button to activate Siri or Hey Google when in CarPlay or Android Auto.
Whipskicksn40s Tv we can’t. Because all factory mics are not created equal we would have to build our systems with a bunch of different Bluetooth parts, varied by model and would drive costs up. It also makes quality control hard when you rely on parts that aren’t yours to test or build. Many of our customers though have installed the mic in the factory location making it appear factory.
What would it cost for this in my ram. I have a 2015 sport. Loaded. I've seen 1 on ebay. It's only 80p cdn mo ey but it seem very cheap to what you guys have! What would your system cost me?
Sort of yes. This video shows our IQ 201-H which should work in the 2010 Ram as well. You can check our Instagram for more pictures of it installed in a Ram. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KczQFP0XDj4.html
Antonio Merkerson we have a find a retailer tab on our website that you can use to find a local retailer or you can order through an online dealer like www.adcmobile.com
Anthowine Bradford the 2010 has a completely different dash and CANBUS set up. So this system won’t work on that truck. But you can install one of our Universal 10.1” Double Din T-Style Radios.
Could you give me more information about that system you said that'll work on my 2010 Ford RAM and how much it is cuz I definitely want to get one I would love to get one just like the one y'all have for the newer models but I guess that's wishful thinking
@@LinksWellInc how you doing this is Antoine again I would love to know more about that system that I can put in my Dodge Ram 2010 since I can't use the system for the 12 and up I would love to find out more about that touch panel if it is a touch panel could you send me the links to find out more about it or how much it cost cuz I really want to set this truck out and look good thank you
Anthowine Bradford for sure man. This link takes you to our website and there are a couple RU-vid videos showing the install and some of the features. www.linkswellinc.com/products/t-style-radio/ts-dduniv10-1a/ We also have some pics on our Instagram and Facebook. You can find us at Linkswell_Inc
It should indeed work on your 2014. There is a find a retailer tab on our website that you can use to find a retailer near you. www.linkswellinc.com/find-a-dealer/
SmarterNotHarder we actually opted to not release a GEN 3 for the Ram and instead just last week released a GEN 4 with way more power and features then GEN 3 had.
Well it would depend on which 2019 it is. If it has the new 2019 interior we don't have a system to work for that application yet. If its a 2019 classic with the 2018 interior our system MSRP starts off at $1,095.
i BOUGHT THIS ABOUT A YEAR AGO FOR MY 2016 RAM, EVERYTHING CAME OK, BUT THE BIG CONNECTOR CAME LABELED FOR A FORD F-150. IS THERE ANY WAY THAT I CAN GET THE RIGHT ONE? I DONT MIND PAYING FOR IT, SINCE ITS BEEN MORE THAN A YEAR AND I DONT HAVE MY TICKET OR ANYTHING. I'M IN MEXICO.
FLEXXX sorry man. Hard to develop systems for vehicles no longer in production, that’s why we came out with a Universal Double Din. To try and bridge that gap.
@@LinksWellInc I hear ya.... just seems like it would be easy to design one for those years since nothing is changing... the hvac controls are digital and the dash is all the same.
@@_flexxx_ it is harder to get our hands on one actually, and even harder to test every trim level. When its a new vehicle we have contacts at dealers that we can get into every trim level and test all versions in one shot, just because they are digital doesn't mean they all have the same features, which changes the coding and so on. Then you have to take into consideration the finical side. It takes the sale of about 500 systems to cover the cost of development. When a vehicle isn't in production, you only have what is out there as prospective customers. Its a hard game of numbers at that point.
xxlt73 we are working with the engineers at SiriusXM currently to develop our interface for SiriusXM. As a company you have to be excepted into the development process and the process is at least a 18-24 months depending on how fast you can develop your interface. SiriusXM won’t allow you to release your interface until they have spent 12 months testing it after all development. All that to say we have been accepted and have begun the process but real time is at least 12 months from release. In the meantime if the app is on your phone you can use the app on the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, or you can download the app to the radio and use a hotspot and run the app from the radio itself.
Wes Pellerin the kit will come with everything you need. You can purchase through a local dealer, we have a find a retailer tab on our website that you can use to find a local retailer using your zip code, or you can purchase online through one of our online dealers like www.adcmobile.com
There are a few reason as to why. One is not all microphones are created equal. When you are working with a Bluetooth chip and system that is not specifically Dodge or Ford or Toyota, or etc. the microphones don't always work well with a foreign Bluetooth system. Another is when removing different pieces of the factory systems it renders other parts unworkable. You also have the fact that in product development of aftermarket equipment it is a lot of times better for quality control and for warranty purposes to use as many parts of our own in development and production. If Dodge was to have a run of bad microphones, or anything was to go wrong on the factory side it would be very hard for us or our dealers to diagnose if it is a factory microphone issue or an issue with our unit when we do not have the ability to replace it or test it. So as seemingly beneficial using the factory microphone may seem in the big picture of things it offers more struggle then victories in the work to produce a reliable product. We did consider it though.
You can use the find a retailer tab on our website to find a local dealer or you can purchase online through one of our online dealers like www.adcmobile.com
So, the music will continue to play even when the backup camera activates? I saw a review video where the music stopped when the vehicle was in reverse. Is that a selectable option that can be activated or deactivated?
Dominick Bucciarelli GEN 3 and GEN 4 should release sometime around the end of the year. As for Sirius, we have been working with them on developing our interface but their process of development is about 18 months long so our GEN 4 systems will come ready but the app won’t work until Sirius approves it.
MrAwesome00011 we don’t have a planed timeline on developing a GEN 3 for the Ram currently. We have 5 new vehicle models that we are developing and so it would have to come sometime after that.

@@LinksWellInc awesome! That was my main concern with this unit since I currently have subs on the stock head unit. Everything else plug n play? And retains all of the features? Besides the unconnect stuff.
@@LinksWellInc any experience with subs and the sound quality? Does it have a pretty good EQ and low/high filters just like other aftermarket head units? I love the looks of it, but im a big sound quality person, and if it doesn't have those features I don't know if I can roll with it.
@@nugsfan91 So the Output is 5 Volt but the preamp is very basic. It has just the simple 3 band EQ and no filters. So if you are wanting to do a high end there are easy ways to do that with companies like Audio Control and others, they have some really nice DSP's even amps with the DSP's included in them. They take the signal we create and give you a WAY more advanced control than any radio could.
