I have a couple questions Is this gen 4 linkswell Is this required to do in the gen 4 with the mother board How do u know if you have auto climate vs non auto climate I have a f150 lariat 2015 , will this work gen 4
The Super Duty will install the same as the F150. Did you purchase a GEN I or a GEN II? The install will be different between the 2 different Generation units, not between the trucks.
Do you offer or plan to offer something for my 15 Expedition? There is nothing out there for it in the ways of upgrading the radio unless I cut the dash and fabricate something for a double din. There's F150 kits out there that look like they may work but the Expedition has rear air controls at the bottom. The 2015-17 Expedition seems to be the forgotten vehicle for upgrades
Travis OBrien unfortunately we don’t have anything in the works for a 2015 Expedition. We only be able to offer a Universal application but it would require you to do the same amount of modifications as any other Double Din radio. The reason cars like the Expedition get last looks is the majority of the owners are families and most family vehicles don’t get a lot of customizing done on them so the market is small. Just the sucky side of product development. You are correct in the fact that an F150 system may fit, but it will lack the ability to retain the rear climate controls which would take a lot of time to work out. One day of the demand grows, I am sure we may look into it, but sadly not yet.
You mention that you can’t use the factory voice command microphone? And also the gps? How do you blend in the microphone and gps make it look like oem ? Can u send more picture where u put the mic and gps? My truck is 2015 Ford F-150 platinum. Just also concern with compatibility and what are the things that I lose from oem. Thanks
Our microphone looks just like any other aftermarket mic. We unfortunately don't have any pictures of where we mounted it. The GPS antenna was mounted under the dash panel so it is unseen. Our unit is an aftermarket radio so you lose all the SYNC system, but our unit does have bluetooth and will work with the factory steering wheel controls.

Hello, I was sold this radio on alibaba, is it a copy? I didn’t see where the USB is plugged in to retain the USB plug that I have, mine is exactly the same and after two tries I believe that I can get it installed now, mine did not come with a microphone or a install manual, would a microphone work that I have from another audio/head unit install, just a 3.5mm plug I think or 3mm, oh also the black box, I forget what you called it and I should mention that I have a 2019 lariet auto A/C looks as if it’s the same as this install... Rrocket we haven’t sold this radio in over a year. We developed a Gen 2 that you didn’t have to swap over the AC boards and all that. How long ago did you purchase this? What was the sellers name?
Asvegan electronic technology, the boards did not fit right, the way you explained in your video, which was very nice by the way, but there was only one screw hole that lined up on the top board, (or bottom board) and there were I believe 4 or 5 that lined up on the bottom board, with the heat/cool buttons, the two slots for the HVAC in the back plate did not line up with the plugs I had to kinda, make them bigger, so the same 4 holes that holds the back plate on could be used, I am positive of this because I put the board with the HVAC plugs in it through the slots in the back plate, then lined the back plate up with its 4 holes, doing so eliminated any doubt that I had the boards in there right spots, I did this to find which holes lined up for the circuit boards, kinda sat everything in where it needed to be according to the back plate, sorry for the explanation, just making sure you know what I’m talking about, he told me it was a android 8.1 six core ram 4g+64gig 🤷🏼♂️😬 and he would make me a good deal, I don’t mind sending you what I paid for it if your curious, including shipping, I have no idea if that’s right or wrong, since you say there is a newer one I’d really rather have it, mainly because it isn’t right, it was one of those deals where just a little bit hear and there lead to a lot, down the rabbit hole, I made it work, well, having problems with connecting to the internet, so I guess I’m only at the beginning, backup camera works right, shows when I open a door, which one, I guess it’s not bad, although I’m not much on rigging things to make them work, I guess why I kept going was because it required altering it’s frame work in the back where it’s not seen, nothing of how it operates, at first it kept trying to connect to my truck hotspot and I haven’t a subscription, I did, so I had to plug the old HU back in and turn off the WiFi, because I could not find a way to delete it or forget it, my phone hotspot was in the saved spot but when tapping on it it asked me hell I forget something that I chose to cancel lol, ok, I’m sorry for the book, thank you for your time, any advice would greatly be appreciated!!! Rrocket unfortunately that system isn’t ours. We never built that model with the 8.1 six core 4GB/64GB. We only built it on Android 4.4.4 with 1GB/32GB. It’s most likely a Phoenix Android system. Really sorry to hear how much trouble you have had. One of the big things we changed from our GEN 1 to the GEN 2 was the need to swap over the AC boards, because it’s a lot of work and not easy to do.

Pretty slick. I found this on F150 Forums as a member bought one. Certainly a little risking slapping one of these babies in your new $50,000+ truck and then have the dealer say you've voided your warranty. Your video was pretty good BUT a couple of points, you were out of frame quite a bit and the sound track made me think I was watching an old Western with James Garner, so you might want to at least fix the parts where you were out of frame. Having someone help you film would be good. Very clever reverse engineering and it certain has a cool factor. I'm curious about the O/S actual capabilities... "app" add ons and warranty. I'm sure its not cheap either so its gonna take a leap for folks to dump their Syncs systems. Good luck though, innovation is fantastic. Wondering if you could sell this to FORD?
Legally Ford cant void your warranty for installing this. Long legal story from years ago, not involving us or Ford but another aftermarket company. Thank you for the tips on how to improve our videos. We truly want to produce the best we can in all things. As for the OS, the unit is a tablet and comes ready with Google Play, and most apps in the play store are able to be downloaded and used. i.e. RU-vid, Facebook, Twitter, Prime Video, etc. Selling to factory manufacturers comes with a ton of red tape, but you never know what might come in the future.

@@MoonlightCos The only settings would be to make sure the HVAC is set correcting in the System Version menu. The GEN 1 Auto system was a very finicky system. Those ribbon cables have to be perfect and the boards protected from grounding out. That was a major reason we changed it with the new GEN 2 units. What did you mean by you lose all the sync? And I wanted to ask is there a difference between the one you installed from others I been looking at is saying android but I have iPhone does it matter or there all the same?
Our unit is just like any other aftermarket radio in so much as when you remove the factory Ford radio, you lose the factory Ford radio features. Our unit will retain the steering wheel controls, and comes with its own USB control and Bluetooth. So the majority of what SYNC offers our unit does as well. The big feature that we don't duplicate, is voice control. As far as what makes us different then others out there is the fact that we are the manufacturer and so our hardware and software are not the same as the others out there. We are based in the US and so we offer shipping and service in the USA. We offer real time tech support as well. We have an app that will allow your Iphone to work on our unit very much like Apple Car play. But with our unit being an Android tablet, if you use your IPhone as a hot spot, or use a mobile hotspot of another kind, you can use the radio to do all kinds of Apps, like Netflix, RU-vid, Pandora, Facebook, etc. It also while being tethered to a hot spot has an internet browser that you can use to do what ever you want.
Since this loses the voice control, could the voice button on the dash be repurposed? Maybe a use configurable by the user? My unit should arrive tomorrow!
Ben Schlimme our unit can pause any of its sources, but currently XM isn’t an option. We are still working on developing an XM Tuner. Though with our new PhoneLink System you control the XM app on your phone.
The video started out great but when you get to the climate control card you have them off frame and I can’t see what you are referring to. I would reshoot that part of the video as it is very important to know.
Ya, the struggles of single man videoing. We actually have a new system that doesn't require these steps anymore, so we will be shooting a new video with the new steps, with new camera equipment so hopefully will be a better video later this week. Do you have a GEN 1 that you need help installing?
LinksWell Inc. No I was checking out the video to see the install process before I considered ordering. Mainly to see what I would realistically retain as I’ve paid quite a bit for my 15 F-150 and even though I can’t stand Dodge I like the display size they use and knew there had to be an aftermarket solution.
