1. First and foremost, plug your wifi range extender in close proximity to your router. It can in 5-10 feet of range.
2. Once you have stable light on the extender, then push the wps button on the re6400 and with two minutes press the wps on you router.
3. You will see blinking wps lights on your extender and router. Within next 15-20 seconds the lights will stop blinking and the extender will be configured with stable light.
4. Now go to wifi list on your computer or laptop and look for your "home network name 2.4ghz" and "your home network name 5ghz"
How to setup linksys re6400 extender via browser
This is the second method to setup re6400 extender via browser. For this first and foremost connect your linksys re6400 ext to your computer either via LAN or via wifi network name showing up in your wifi list.
1. Now open any browser on the same device that is connected to the ext 6400 and in the URL or address bar type extender.linksys.com
2. This will take you to the linksys re6400 login page. Type re6400 default username and password there. It can be either "admin" for both or "admin" "password".
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the linksys re6400 setup. via extender.linksys.com
4. Finally select your router network name and type its password.
