@@TomsBigSpiders may i ask you, what humidity level does megatheloides/sericata require? Should the substrate be damp or drier? Like ornithoctoninae level of damp or dry like GBB? Thank you.
How do people form a bond with a spider as a pet? I just don’t get it It really is a curiosity they don’t show any love or respect to the owner or whatever ?
Morioworms or mealworms are handy to get the speeders on show as you have more control on where they'll go. Can put them in a certain place and they can't run into trouble so to speak.
@@TomsBigSpiders I watched an orb weaver last year in my backyard make the biggest most beautiful web and come to find out they move weekly I dont understand why after they spend so much work each time.
@@dawncaron3960 With the orb weavers, they put their webs up at dusk to hunt, then pull them down and hide in the morning. A lot of times they will stay in the same spot, though. We have one that lives up under our gutter during the day and comes down to make its nest on the side of the house and our fence at night. They will eat their webs during the morning to absorb the proteins. I think they tear them down during the day to avoid being prey for birds and such.
@@TomsBigSpiders that's so cool didn't know it was for protein. I figured it was for protection why they moved. The one I had moved around the back yard using whatever furniture or our grill it was cool to watch
Imagine that being the size of a human chilling out in some back allay, just waiting to make a nice meal out of you as you are walking home drunk from the bar? Lol😂
Sorry about that. I think that you can swipe away? I don't post these to scare folks, as I used to be terrified of spiders. They are for people who appreciate them.
@@TomsBigSpiders I should be thanking you, for sharing this video of your gorgeous 8legger! They truly are so incredible. She looks very well cared for. If a tarantula or spider isn't laying down web like this, that is a good indicator for the wellbeing of the spider. A lot of things can cause stress, lack of proper enclosure, (i.e. if it's an arboreal species yet you don't provide anything to climb on). That's just 1 example. Good job!!

That's very scary !!! Just watching the cricket walking and a monstress of a spider just grabs it and it disappears in that dark hole to be consumed painfully.
this spider looks like the 🕷 I got in my bathroom next to my toilet but it dont bother me until night times wen it's out 👍 but not sure wa to feed it as it's only a big house 🕷👍
She's actually very shy and will retreat to her webbing when disturbed. Notice how she grabs the cricket and then quickly bolts back in her den to hide.
As if the spider isn't horrendous enough it's built its own majestic palace which spells doom for you little cricket and lunch for the spider. This is spectacular in the worst way. I can't. 💀
Drop a plastic 5 oz deli cup in the webbed up one and remove it when you have to. You can also trim away the webbing with aquarium scissors. Just make sure that the spider is either blocked in its burrow or under a catch cup.
