Great spokesperson - really insightful, cuts through the BS and great inspiration for many people (especially for us age groupers).

Such a good man! I really wish to meet you someday even for 10 seconds a get your autograph. I missed my chance when the 70.3 Mont tremblant got canceled dramatically. You are the reason i’m in this sport today! Funny thing that you mentioned once the moment that inspired you, seeing a winner gritting his teeth and you went and did it yourself, from coach to podium! And i was inspired by you doing that! I said to myself: what kind of person sees something impossible to do on TV, in probably the lowest point in his life and believes in himself that someday he will be that guy! Keep going champ! Hats off

Good job by the interviewer. So nice for Lionel to finally receive questions from someone who isn't a jocksniffer in his corner.

Lionel is a good one. But I am sorry, he missed out something. So it is very hard and unlikely or even impossible became one of the top 5, even number one. There is a zero missing tolerance today, or it takes a lot of luck. Few years ago it was'nt such difficult. Champions have to be ahead in time, in developing methods first, then in competition. I wish best luck for optimum decisions. On the other hand, he's just great the way he is, a great hunter, and maybe that's his role. When someone achieves something really big at the top, there is often a void immediately afterwards, which often doesn't make people happy.

He NEVER listens to his coaches. He makes STUPID decisions. Even a competitor told him he was over training 2 weeks before Kona, SOO MUCH potential, he is destined to be a master at half marathons by his own being.
