This is unfortunate circumstance that happened to this man. Adults need to take responsibility for their actions. The fact that a city agency staff did fraudulent behaviors is a major concern.

My coworkers cousin met a girl and used my coworkers name. When she got pregnant she put my coworker on child support. It took him 3 years to clear it up!! They garnished his check the whole time. He never even met the girl 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

I’m glad where I live if the parents weren’t married when child was born or if affidavit of paternity wasn’t signed…the man will not be listed on BC until paternity is established. The mother can’t receive CS or cash assistance from said dad until it happens.

He is 1,000% correct about the separation of powers, I brought it up in my hearing and they said that was a federal statute whereas CS is based on state law😩 8-10 more years

Child support should be a civil lawsuit with the custodial parent petitioning the court for the non-custodial parent to pay.

I live in Florida and I truly believe the system here was intentionally holding the money from the mother of my kids just so the state could collect interest off the money I'd paid out. There was multiple times in 2007 i would get phone calls from the mothers of both of my kids saying where is my money? I'd always hang up on them and tell them you need to contact child support as it was taken out of my check.

I work for a government agency in California, and if mom applies for cash assistance from the state, a child support case gets opened. The state doesn’t not want to pay BUT they will and IF dad’s wages get garnished, that money is used to pay the state and mom gets $50. ALSO when your kids get SSI income, the state will deduct from parents retirement income to pay back the state for the child’s SSI

The thing that irritated the hell out of me is when after this man told this horrific story with child support enforcement Angela Yee fixed her mouth and asked him, "so did you establish a relationship with the child? Was that supposed to be a serious question? I mean come on, did you even listen to anything this man was saying? There are millions of stories like this story out there, but one of the biggest problems with the child support system is that it is completely fragmented across states to the point where a friend of mine who was in the military with me had four separate cases for 1 child across 4 different states, and that was because every state that he had been stationed in up to that point wanted to get their cut. This is the problem with the child support system in a nutshell, it's pretty much a racketeering ring at this point.

My Non Custodial parent was named the parent by default. Failure to appear three times, the judge ruled the non custodial to be the parent

Child support being fraud is something you will never hear a parent with full custody say

One lawyer said something like the courts and the government in some of these states be looking to make money from child support. For example, let’s say you and baby mama got something worked out with the father .Then mama applies for government assistance. But later Uncle Sam finds out baby mama getting money from the father. Uncle Sam says we’ll cut you off from assistance unless they get a cut of that child support money. Baby mama is then pressured to use the legal route against the father and obviously destroying the relationship. The state and the prosecutors now go after the father for more money. Baby daddy getting garnished so big he couldn’t even afford a studio in the hood even if making a six figure salary!

“Participation by a state in the IV-D program is voluntary”. Wehunt v. Ledbetter, 875 F.2d 1558, 1563 (11th Cir. 1989). “Title IV-D was not intended to benefit individual children and custodial parents, and therefore it does not constitute a federal right. Far from creating an individual entitlement to services. Thus, the Secretary must look to the aggregate services provided by the State, not to whether the needs of any particular person have been satisfied. Blessing v. Freestone, 520 U.S. 329, 333 (1997).

This is a special situation.. ,but for fathers that know they have children out here not doing the bare minimum is the problem.

Child Support should be taken after taxes not before and women should pay taxes on that extra income. LA system is flawed, I been in my daughter's life since day 1 and after 9 years we went to court and the judge wouldn't grant me 50% and my daughter isn't happy with her mom.

The name of his book would lead you to believe you can avoid paying child support on legitimate cases. Don't try this at home kids lol. And FYI - every state has different laws.

In a way he’s right the way he’s making it seem. It’s incorrect though he’s making it seem like you actually volunteer signed some document for Child Support. No that’s not true that’s incorrect. What happens is if there’s a birth certificate and you sign it as the father that he’s meaning that that’s voluntary, but no Man knows that and if you’re married to this woman and she divorces you, you’re automatically gonna go on Child Support that’s literally part of the divorce so technically he’s right, but I do not know how in this modern time this system still exist

This is an unfortunate incident in his case! Yes, there should be reform in this sector just like the medical, education, etc need reform. Nevertheless, some ppl are ALWAYS complaining about what the government is doing. Honestly, most of these things exist in the first place because some ppl DON'T take care of their responsibilities on a personal level first! Stop being reckless out here. Also, all cases are NOT the same. More often than not, both parents can come to a financial agreement OUTSIDE of court. Not every situation needs to go before a judge. At the end of the day, the child SHOULDN'T have to suffer financially because of the parents!
