Great points about depreciation. Frankly most yachts this old suffer from design choices that have been clearly eclipsed by more modern yachts. This one by contrast feels much newer, not just because of how well maintained and upgraded she is, but because her design does not have many of the failings I see on other similar-aged yachts.

Enjoyable video. The lack of stabilizers was really noticed. I wonder how difficult it would be to add them? Aside from those, there's very little I would consider changing; she looks great for her age!

LIONSHARE being built in the 80s is just amazing. It is in such amazing shape. I wish I had the means of buying her. I'd be a proud owner.

First yacht I've seen in a long time that has a real comfortable home feel.

A good addition to the video with Tristan Mortlock. With a 35 year old yacht you clearly need to understand when full overhauls of the engines and generators will be required. The accommodations are attractive and in excellent condition.

So much to like about this yacht, clearly age is not a limitation of a quality yacht builder. I love the bar it looks a lovely space to chat and watch the world go by.

She's gorgeous many more yachts of today do not even come close. It was built of premium quality. I love it . If I had a chance, I wouldn't think twice of buying it.

What a beauty! Best part about it is that it does not have a dated interior. Clearly all the owners have taken great care of her. Nice to hear about it just completing the survey. I’ve often wondered about these surveys, is it just a check on maintenance paperwork, or is it an actual survey similar to one does when buying a yacht?

Made 30 crossings on it's own hull, has noticeable speed, well laid out,...yeah I would say this is a good yacht to buy amd it just went through it's ABS which is so expensive and detailed. This is an awesome yacht. And it dispenses SPARKLING WATER!!! LOL. That was one of the weirdest things I heard for people choosing a charter yacht.

Really Nice Yacht. 1980's Build , but looks Modern/new. Nice owners suite.

It looks 80s more from inside than outside. I've always like this kind of hull design, sort of conservative perhaps. It looks very stable when navigating. I would enjoy seeing it break waves on a its way to Bahamas... I've never been too crazy about the 70's or 80's designing trends (a little insipid, I guess) even though I had a lot of fun then; I prefer the 60s or 90's on. This yacht is in really good condition, though. Very well distributed inside areas. Yes, the upper decks are glorious. The advantage of buying a yacht this old is, of course, size / price.... ⛵

Interesting how Kristen and I share the same area code of (727), which indicates that she hails from Pinellas County as I did before moving to the Space Coast (Cape Canaveral area) 6-1/2 years ago. Missed seeing the galley though. This is definitely a worth-while investment yacht that is worth owning in my opinion. As always, thank you. I do wonder if there is a stabilizer onboard as the water line in the beginning of the video showed what appeared to be a wave height of around 2-3', lasting 4-5 seconds each?

Yes indeed, I have noticed older yachts are like older cars in that, at a certain point in their lifespan they sell based on what they are, what you are getting for your money, and not the year they were built. Also, like a car, if you put lots of money into something older to do an extensive rebuild, you aren't going to get much of that money back when it's time to sell. After all, it's still a 30 year old design. I have seen a few classic (30 to 40yo) yachts that have had 15 or 20 million dollar refits that are still selling in the same price range as well cared for originals. A yacht with an expensive refit will be at the top of that range but whoever spent those big bucks rebuilding an older yacht is only getting a small % of that money back on resale. Anyways, the point he is making here is, there are boats out there that you could buy, enjoy as is, for a few years and then sell it for what you paid, or close to what you paid. If you do your research and buy the right boat, you could enjoy it for 4 or 5 years and, in the end, only pay for maintenance/operating costs. Lets face it, any large yacht will cost big money to own but, if you buy the right boat and make good decisions while you own it, you can minimize, or possibly even eliminate, the depreciation factor and that is huge.

Great video again David. I noticed a lot of roll in this video...has Lion Share no stabilisers? I was amazed to see how much they have squeezed in to the main deck and still have room for the owners cabin and crew quarters on that one deck, where the crew are normally downstairs and f'ward. Interesting to say the least. I agree with your assessment in terms of investment with respect to older yachts. The only downside I see of an older yacht is that you just don't get the larger windows now seen on new yachts, as evidenced by the port lights in the 2nd main cabin - which I would have preferred as a owners cabin, except for that very fact. It is a bit more claustrophobic than the main cabin above and than that of other yachts today. Still, a smashing yacht nonetheless!!! 👍

Good afternoon all your videos are so well done everything is perfect the only thing is that went somebody is in the camera have to move with the boat if you see the boat that is rocking the boat is moving that guy that he's taking that video he should move also in the vocal lessons you go left with the rocking of the boat because in the video it look like at everything this moment for such a big boat it doesn't have the stabilizer

In getting an older yacht you don't get some of the modern tech, like zero speed stabilizers. They could be retro-fitted but at what cost? Sadly I am subject to seasickness, so this boat is off my list. I am old enough that the 80's design feels comfortable.

Beautiful yacht for an older vessel. The Interior designers did a marvelous job, however, we didn't get to see the bathroom in the owner's suite nor that actual galley. I wonder why?

Love this yacht. A lot for the money. Why no zero. stab?

Not that I'm ever going to buy one... but I think the only thing she's missing IS a bow area for relaxing. But seating and lounging - especially when berthed stern to and wanting some privacy. Whether it's early morning coffee or an evening cigar it might be the ONE thing I think it's lacking - along with Zero Speed stabilizers. 😐😐

I guess they have spent exactly what they feel is the correct amount for a boat of its age etc. but interior doesn’t feel very exclusive in most areas. New and fresh, yes, but not luxurious. I would expect the charter price to be lower than some other similar size boats

It still narks me off when tenders are removed from the boat deck. Having that silly bar on the aft deck makes no sense either, waste of space. I remember when she was launched and how special she was compared to the stuff Italy was pumping out at the time.

Lionshare is a lovely yacht but the interior is far too sterile being just white, gray and black for my personal taste. She would require a refit to bring life back into her décor if I was to use the yacht solely for personal use. The yacht is at an attractive asking price and worth considering as a charter business opportunity.

The lack of stabilizers really shows on video. Is it difficult to retrofit them?
