Thanks. There really is a difference between student and artist grade. I usually try to use single-pigment paint, but some really nice paints have more than one pigment.

@charlesreidy2765 Glad you liked the video!😀 I like both Liquitex Basics and the Liquitex Heavy body. I use the Liquitex Basic a lot to do several layers and if I’m wanting less layers and more opaque I use the heavy body. Once varnished it all comes together nicely. Plus both are lightfast so it’s up to the artist on what methods they work in when painting.

I know this is such an odd thing to ask but do you know the numbers on the back of each paint im doing some research for school project and i dont have the money to buy these but my school wanted me to go to a craft store. I have extreme anxiety going into places like that im a bit odd but could you type the color of the paint with the numbers that on the back without ink. I would be so greatful

You have a potentially great channel but can I suggest you don’t use music when you are talking. I don’t think I am the only one who finds this very hard to concentrate with music competing against what you are saying! Thanks for you videos!

Sorry for the music didn’t think it was loud but I’m more new to the tech. Part of things. Thank you for your feed back without it I would not know and I’ll make the necessary corrections to improve my channel for the viewers.

How can I tell if an acrylic paint is heavy body or soft body when it comes to other brands? Especially since colours and brands differ alot when it comes to consistensy. I've noticed that even tubes from the same brand of acrylics have different thickness.

@nekoboygames7786 Good question and it comes down to either trying the brand yourself by getting one small tube or checking reviews from others who have used that paint. If I’m choosing a new paint or other medium and I’m looking for a certain quality I will always go straight to the reviews first. If reviews look good than I will purchase one to test it out myself before spending a whole lot of money on something I’m not sure I’ll like. Hope this helps 🙂

I got some old tubes of artist acrylics from my dad that he hasn't used in years and I couldn't find the brand online. The rest of the acrylic paints I own are cheap off-brand paints. And I want to use them with an airbrush. But apparently the Liquitex airbrush medium only works with fluids, inks and soft body acrylics and I never knew there was different kinds. I have mostly painted with watercolours and pencils before. I found your video while searching for the difference between soft body and heavy body acrylics. I liked your video and subbed.

@nekoboygames7786 Thank you for subscribing, Yay!! For my air brush I use Golden high flow acrylics but if your wanting Acrylic paints to use with your air brush the one I would use would be the Liquitex Basics and use water to dilute to a lighter consistency. The soft body would still be too thick to use for an air brush.

@@dcfineart1562 they have come up with several new items, but be aware, THEY HAVE INCREASED THEIR PRICES INCREDIBLY! In some articles TRIPLE the price. I won't buy again from them, unless they change! Specially since I have to buy online, and the shipping for me was always from 7.85 to 12 dollars, depending on how big my order was... well, last few times I TRIED to buy, the shipping was ridiculous! Just keep in mind that in my last attempt the total of my order was 45.75... AND THEY ASKED ME FOR 66 DOLLARS FOR SHIPPING!!! So, $111.75 in total!!! I used to buy once a month EVERY month... they lost a client, and Im pretty sure Im not the only one who's frustrated and disappointed!

A SERIOUS ADVANTAGE to consider what is lLiquitex FLUID basics or even the tube basics is: 1) I use this through an AIRBRUSH gun; I can not stress this advantage enough! The Heavy body and muted are great, BUT, it would be VERY hard to find anyone who would thin down the HEAVY or muted to put through an airbrush! It is so much thinning and the risk of not getting the right formulation--- is very low, you have a hard time being consistent in the mixing, not to even get into how the paint goes through the Airbrush gun, the way you want! The Fluid basics --are SO MUCH BETTER to work with in regard to airbrushing, the amount of mixing to get the VERY important viscosity you DEFINITELY NEED to get it through the airbrush---is minimal and lays so well on projects! In airbrushing - you are SUPPOSED to lay down very THIN layers of paint and build to what thickness you want--- this make the FLUID AND EVEN the TUBE liquitex -- EXCELLENT to work with! The huge importance of NOT using ANY heavy body paint through an airbrush is: you HAVE NO CHOICE but to THIN the Heavy body paints---FAR TOO MUCH, this REALLY risks the chance you will lose the viscosity YOU NEED and the spreading OUT of the now watered down paint-- just destroys your project! I have tried many mediums in practicing with the HEAVY body through an airbrush---- and it is NEVER close to the consistency I get with the FLUID! The airbrush is SO FINE in spray-- you just break down the heavy body TOO MUCH and highly risk losing your project. or cleaning it ALL OFF and starting over. This was for people considering using an airbrush gun!

@Yakkyuu12 yes I do agree heavy body would not be good for air brushing. I use Golden high flow acrylics for my airbrush and they are very nice to use. 🙂

Do you use Liquitex Airbrush Medium? I used it with an old acrylic artist paint that I got from my dad (he hadn't used it in years and found it while cleaning his storage) and I was really disappointed. Mixing the paint with water was more pigmented than using the airbrush medium and I had to use alot of medium too. On their youtube they don't even use an airbrush in their "how to use the medium" video.

My understanding, basics are more filler, less pigment then the professional.
