I'm comparing Liquitex Professional Heavy Body to Basics Acrylics.
We are going to look at color, consistency, opacity, pigment load and such. As usual there is a painting at the end of the video.

Thanks for the comparison, I use basics and was curious about the professional line. Both pics pretty similar but the professional line has the edge.

very nice presentation. to be honest, I am still undecided about using basics to supplement some of my paintings (like underpainting). I like them quite a bit, but the heavy body paint is still stronger in pigment. both are archival as far as Liquitex says........I too would appreciate some counsel here....thanks again

You know.. I like the paint for the feel of it. I think professional is slightly more buttery and pigmented. If your underpainting is super quick and very rough, you won’t notice a difference and save a little bit of money. But, if your underpainting is more detailed, use what you love, just more pleasurable and no surprises.

yes, add some thickening medium for impasto, lol or just use mont marte's dimension acrylics

I can see the difference the professionals side is more colour full then the basics side. But i like the basics myby because i don,t sell my art work. I love the brand liquitex. Its the best acrylic paint in my opinion

Yeah, I thought the professional side is a little more vibrant, but I don't see that much of the difference, especially if you just do art for fun.

Hello Art Symbol. Yeah I don't see much difference either. The basics acrylic paint are still my favoriete and always will be. I love this review and i love the cute polar bear you,ve painted. Bye i,ll see you in you,re next video 😃👋🏾👍🏼

Totally agree. Professional grade is a little more vibrant, but the cost...

Nobody mixes purple and yellow. It also looks like you don't wash your brushes enough. That could create some added color to the others.

Hi! I mix yellow and purples all the time, it usually makes nice browns, warm yellows will make more like burnt sienna, and cooler yellow will make umber browns. Hope you have a better day !
