Loved your 80s getting ready montage!! 🥰 I actually really liked Lisa Frankenstein, it was fun and nostalgic but definitely wasn’t what I was expecting! Very much a dark comedy like you said!

@@happyhauntslibrary it's announced for 9th of Feb, so it's technically out here as well, but there are no screenings near me. I guess the distribution here is small, I hope some of the screaning platforms gets it if theaters wont :(

My husband and I went and saw this opening weekend and I think I like it more than he did!😂 I loved the costumes, and I liked that it had Edward Scissorhands vibes. I agree with you, I would categorize this one as a dark comedy, which as a Tim Burton fan, I am totally here for! Great getting ready montage Lauren!👌

Yesssss an Edward scissorhands movie but focus more on the female experience! Right after I watched, I wish we had more time to develop the “creation”/zombie but then i thought back to other movies like this (ex: warm bodies, Edward scissorhands, and even corpse bride) and they primarily focus on the male character’s development. I appreciate how this one takes a hard left to diverge from that typical male centric storytelling approach!!

Omg I love your outfit!! 💖🦇✨ I’m so excited to see this! Movies can be so tricky to anticipate once the trailer is released because the visuals and music always make you imagine something already 😹 i rewatched Jennifer’s Body today and I feel like it leaves you feeling so confused but also can’t stop thinking about it. The aesthetic looks so good in this but it’s so interesting hearing your thoughts about the story itself! 🍿🎬

“Confused but just can’t stop thinking about it” was definitely my vibe as I walked out of the theater for this one 🤣 So spot on! It took me some time to process and collect my opinions. I really hope you enjoy this one - it’s very different than Jennifer’s Body but that’s nice that Diablo Cody is serving up original stories but also with the same emphasis on girlhood!

Yess!! I loved it!! 💜💚💜💚💜💚I agree with you this is a grief movie! It's really interesting to me that Zelda Williams decided to direct! Carla Gugino was my favorite performance but everyone really kicked ass in it! I thought the house looked like the pink castle from Coraline 😂 "It's a band. They can't make you better. I mean, they can, but like emotionally." 😂 One of my favorite parts

I cut out the part of my clip where I rave about her performance 🤣 I did not realize she was going to be in this movie hahah nor did I realize she was going to be playing such a dispicable character. Her 🪱 scene almost made me gag 🤣 And I loved the humor in this one! One of my fave moments is when Lisa and Frankenstein are having this sentimental moment by the piano and she says “weeeeeelllll, I am going to go change my pad and my dad will be home any minute now.” 🤣 Loved it!

Wait is it supposed to be like Lisa Frank, the neon school supplies??? I remember realizing that Jennifer’s Body felt like a season 2 episode of Buffy, and I liked it more when I watched it through that lens. Great review, I can’t wait to see it!

The name Lisa Frankenstein is definitely a play on words as like an homage to the time period, which was illustrated very beautifully through the over-the-top set design, costuming and storytelling. It's a visual feast for the eyes!!

Absolutely love your outfit! I totally went in with a different thought for the plot, no spoilers, but yeah I expected more creation. I liked the costumes and the like Edward Scissorhands like stylized 80’s vibes. I would highly recommend Totally Killer, also fun and 80’s horror

@@happyhauntslibrary I feel like a lot of the marketing was like build the perfect man or something so I really think they tried to make her like Dr. Frankenstein in stuff I saw. And I thought it was fun, not as rewatchable as Jennifer's Body is for me now. Like the aesthetics were so good like I would love to see costumes from the movie, but not my like fav.

I realized recently that I have so many pins and I never wear them so I need to be better at that 🤣 I have even more in a little container that you didn’t see. I take out different ones to have out with each season so if they’re in front of me, I’m more likely to wear them, right? 😅 I really hope you have fun with this movie!! 💖🪦

I want to see this movie in the theater but my daughter isn’t sure if it’s theater worthy lol. I love your outfit those earrings are cute also love the other pink heart ones. I think I saw somewhere where they said this movie is like heathers and Edward scissors hands and maybe warm bodies. can’t wait to see if anyone does a reading theme blog on this

Personally, I find this movie very theater worthy but that’s obviously subjective 🤣 I want to see the movie again in theaters just to admire the gorgeous visual storytellling alone! Also, I went to watch this by myself because nobody was really into it so consider a solo date on a discount night that your theater has 👻 And I totally agree with that Edward scissorhands/Heathers comparison!
