@@Markm8 Pink when he joins Brad will automatically have Joy withdrawal meaning he has taken joy with the other Rangers, and even then the canon of the story is that Brad kills every party member in the game so he was screwed no matter what
BRUH you know what i just realized today? Green ranger says "Don't pay for drugs. Let your friends do that!" and he's one of the only few rangers that didn't mutate. Genius writing
Hmmmmmm… post-apocalyptic near abandoned world where everyone has lost hope and there are no good endings anywhere? It gives off some Soulsborne vibes in that sense.
Fun fact: When you work as a "companion" in the Beehive, there is a chance of Green Ranger coming in, recognizing Brad, and asking him to not tell the others, before promptly leaving. Thus explaining why he showed no interest in Buddy.
@@Funtermore I guess, maybe he just thinks kids and babies are cute overall and that's where it was going? That said Buddy has quite the war-wounds going there so I'd personal be more inclined to cringe rather than call her cute. But then again gor is normal there so, ahh, there are too many variables.
Dude the world has come to an end and no women exist. that isn't proof that he's gay it's proof that he's depraved of sex and desperate. granted he could be gay but it just isnt' conclusive evidence.
He was the only person, at least in Buddy's story, that wished the last girl to be happy. Rest in peace Tooley. The only one that deserves a peaceful rest. Well, except Rando.
I like to imagine Salvation black chose the black helmet to match the darkness of his past. To be fair, anyone raised in the hellish, pervert and mutant filled Olathe must have a dark past.
@Gabriel Puggedus Doggo The II sadly i don't have a steam acount (since my parents don't let me have one) i can't play any of the lisa games or fan games but thanks for giving more to the wonderful universe of LISA
The Rangers are easily my favorite part of this game, and I'd genuinely love to see a fangame about them someday. Their story is full of sheer comedy mixed with some sublime underlying issues that culminate in the huge drop in tragedy in the end. They really show how much the world has gone to shit, especially since a bunch of grown men are spending their last few years away goofing off like this. It makes me believe that people have tried to find a way to save humanity before, only to have completely failed, and their failure instilled a sense of despair in the rest of humanity. I like to think that each of the Rangers' catchphrases are related to their own personal history. Red is obese, so he tells people to eat healthy. Green is the only one who doesn't do Joy besides maybe Beige and Black, so he tells people not to pay for drugs. Blue might've been bullied as a kid, or Yellow might have abusive parents like Brad... who knows, man.
Oooo... I didn't even think of their catchphrases like that! I wish I had so I could've incorporate it into their stories. Lol. Thanks for watching, and being so interactive in the comments! I really appreciate that!
Now hold on! I thought the last ranger let a bunch of old joy boys in his shack But I didn't know about the other alternative so its cool... Plus the green ranger survivor in joyful really threw me too
@@jedicub3024 Actually, I just made use of the buffs which gives a chance to avoid attacks entirely like stench to avoid his first attack. Afterwards, I would incapacitate him with moves like super puke, and then I'd annihilate him!
@@SquatchGamingChannel There are ways to beat x and buzzo, both being extremley unlikely. If you do beat them however, it triggers the failsafe cheater ending, as you were not supposed to beat them
I think the reasons why Tooley (Salvation Green) isn’t interested in Buddy because he’s gay. I do remember that moment when Brad work with Queen Roger where he provided “service” for the desperate men. And Salvation Green entered the room though he turned back after seeing Brad and told him to not let his friends know about it. That’s explain why he was so confused about Buddy’s questions. He doesn’t feel that way toward girls.
My first playthrough I figured the revelation of Blues violent thoughts were just an absurd throw-away joke. I had no idea that it was foreshadowing the violent end of the Salvation Rangers.
It's amazing the little things that are in there that foreshadow future events! Similar kind of thing happens with Salvation Green: he's the only one that doesn't mutate or die in the mutations, and his catchphrase is "Don't pay for drugs, *let your friends do that!*" ;) Thanks for watching!
@@SquatchGamingChannel I would say what you should play for april fools, but all the senior lisa vets would probably get their jimmies rustled. They like keeping it their little secret. Edit: and as far as i know you haven't played through painful yet.
I'll be honest, this almost made me cry. They're just trying to have fun and they all get screwed over. I wish there was a fan game where you get to play as them. Maybe they dont all die and they can actually become powerful fighters who go around trying to bring peace back to the world.
When Lisa the Painful came out, the Salvation Rangers used to be called the Horny Rangers but when the game updated, they were changed into Salvation Rangers
It took me a while to figure this out; Pink's fighting-style is officially listed as "XMA" (extreme martial-arts; a combination of traditional martial-arts, gymnastics, and acrobatics), which was created by Michael Chaturantabut, who portrayed the Blue Power Ranger in "Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue"
The salvation rangers are funny most of the time and make many people laugh *smallest brain* The salvation rangers can possibly pose a threat *average boy brain* The salvation rangers are a serious group, that poses a huge threat to any evil doers *big boy brain*
Salvation didn’t prevail... Regardless, the Salvation Rangers embody the true form of the silliness and goofiness of the world of Olathe. Imagine...the world has ended, what better things would you do? The Salvation Rangers are funny but also extremely tragic, much like most of the inhabitants of Olathe. In a world filled with pain, what better thing to do than have fun with your friends? Great vid Squatch! Salvation Forever!!
So true! Hold onto your own childlike innocence! It may save you from mutating into a monster or prevent you from having a little girl make you feel so bad about yourself you want to commit suicide! Thanks for watching! :)
Think about this though. The symbolism of Tooley using the rope from the tire swing to off himself. A fun game for kids, used to fuel one of the most awful things a human can conceive of, just like what the salvation rangers became.
at least tooley got to go out on his own conditions rather then being painfully slaughtered by buddy. rest in peace tooley, i hope that you found true salvation at last
Okay, wow... Buddy meets the one guy who legitimately just wants to be friends with her, and she just leaves him without any second thought. Buddy, why do you have to be such a selfish jerk?
After everything shes been through, i dont blame her for being hostile to any and all male strangers. Killing the peaceful warlord on the list was too far tho
Poor Tooley he just wanted a friend , I kinda wish Buddy took Tooley in and he would have bad stats like Terry Hintz but eventually grow to be strong .
Huh i really didn't remember Tooley died, i don't see much of a reason either, in my head i thought he was the reason LISA had a baby in the ending which still doesn't make much sense.
I wasn't planning on it originally, but it's been requested so much that I'm considering it. I'll have to play them first. Lol. The only thing holding me back from the Pointless is the fact that it's not finished, meaning they could change stuff about the story part way through development (which I think they did with the Monster Update). We'll see though!
I wish we were able make Tooly the Terry of Joyful. I remember that was going to be the case and there were going to be more party members but he Austin opted against it on the final cut. Which sucks because Tooly definitely had a lot of depth, he also could've been what Buddy needed in that fucked up world.
4:37 you can technically defeat him through in game mechanics of poisoning and getting lucky with being pissed off but then the game will just say that you cheated and give you a game over
Wait what happened to Pink, Demon X,Snake Guy or the Princes? Since they didn't join the party where Red and the others mutated they also got to be alive somewhere.
Well Pink joined Brad, so he might have been killed by him in Rando Land. As for the others, you can only guess they died at some point during the chaos that rocked Olathe shortly after. Unless they escaped...!
This game is just too good. Brilliant writing. Morbid, but brilliant. I don't think I've ever laughed harder at dark humor. This game can punch you in the diaphragm in one scene then make your gut hurt with laughter the very next.
It's amazing how many characters there are in the Lisa series (Green's my favourite color) The video was gud Holly macaroni, so many views and likes, congratulations (:
I find it kinda depressing how one of the only genuinely nice people in joyful is treated like shit and then kills himself. Gee, i know Buddy's cold, but good god. Poor Tooley, he just wanted to roleplay as a salvation ranger. Press F.
The thing that makes it more impacting for me is that the last time you see them is in the last location where there's some sort of humour on which is Holly Wood, examples being the battle with Hollywood Hustle in normal mode and the music "Boy Oh Boy" playing in the overworld. But the Rangers demise in the area indicates that the illusion of happiness, silly jokes, funny moments faded away and the destiny of Brad's life is coming closer to it's end.
As a massive Rangers fan, yeah it can be lame at times, but you know, that is fine. Everyone just wants the world to be innocent again, and if watching children's TV shows is how you reclaim that feeling, all the power to you.
I like how a game set on an apocaliptic world is able to put humor😂 to make us forget we are playing a game where the characters you meet might not have a happy ending.😢 And after this video, The Salvation Rangers were the NPC whose deaths more hurted me.😭 Grown up men who played being heroes is kind of charming, like feeling as a little kid again in your youth when you were more inocent about the world that surrounds you. Even if the people of Olathe don't take them seriously, by making the player smile whenever they show up in the game when we are deadling with a hard mission, that's enough to consider them real heroes.
i loved these guys. i was sad to see what happened to them especially green. it's like he just wanted a friend someone who he could be like a buddy with.
Honestly, I am living for your channel and videos right now. I thought everyone forgot about Lisa... Thank you so much :) Also, I am so sad for Tooley... The Salvation Rangers also reminded me of the Voltron Paladins lol
Thanks a lot, man! Happy to hear you're enjoying them even though you've never played the games! If you ever get some time, hope you give em a try sometime! :)
I don't think there's enough there for an entire video on them, but I was going to do a "Minor Characters" video detailing a couple characters and was thinking of including them in that! That sound good?
Awesome! It'll be a while before that video is made. The next video will be very long, and that'll take some time to make. It will most likely be after that video though.
7:26 My goodness, I didn't even realise that while playing the game. I thought he just leaned forward so that his head could fit in the vertical gap. This scene became way more disturbing after learning this information...
Something that just hit me: so we don’t actually know when the Flash happened in relationship to when the game takes place. We know it happened when Brad was an adult, because we gets scenes of a pre-Flash world where Brad looks like he does before the time skip post-Flash when he’s raising Buddy. Anyway, watching SB’s flashback, it kind of hits me for the first time: there’s an entire generation of people who were kids before the Flash that had to grow up in a post-Flash world. Jack, the Magician, is part of that generation too, and there must’ve been toddlers and babies that survived the Flash (the kids at the “orphanage” I think are the youngest living children left in Olathe, not including Buddy, who was born after the Flash, since she was a baby when Brad “found” her). There are working cars and guns in a post-Flash Olathe, and people listen to the radio (or at least cassettes), so, are the Rangers reenacting something they watched on TV before the end of the world? Maybe they found VHS tapes or leftover toys that inspired them to roleplay as heroes? Or maybe they overheard older people talking about it in the past tense, and maybe even thought that it was real. How would they know any different? I’m sure it’s not Austin’s intention to think about it THAT deeply, but it’s still an interesting facet of this particular post-apocalyptic setting.
I don't know how much there is to him, but I was planning on doing a "Minor Characters" video for some of the side characters. Maybe he'll get in it! Thanks for watching! :)
