😢 I've been walking around for 16 weeks in and out of the Dr telling him something is wrong. I finally got to the podiatrist and he took one look and asked for CT. Said it's probably a Lisfranc injury and to be very cautious as NY foot could splat like a a pancake. Best news I'd heard in 16 weeks!!

I had my moped crush my foot and the doctors told me nothing was wrong, just a bruins in the soft tissue. A week later I go back in for a check up bc my boot was bruising and turning really dark, almost black. Turns out I’ve been walking on a grade 3 lisfranc fracture and ankle sprain with nothing, the original doctors didn’t even give me an ace bandage. Once I went for a second set of X-rays I got an orthopedic walking boot. This was back in September. I’ve been gaslit by my friend for months and have been walking without my boot bc as she says ‘it’s not that serious’. I’m going to need surgery. I’m a 20 year old foster kid, my house is based on me going to school or work full time, I can’t do either. I’ve had to basically drop out of college bc none of my classes are available online and I can’t find a job bc I can’t even stand without pain, I hobble everywhere. I’m absolutely terrified. I have no one I can stay with to heal bc, again I’m a former foster kid. I have a dog that’s my emotional support animal bc I’ve got so many mental health issues living alone is almost dangerous for me. I’m not going to be able to take care my dog, I’m going to lose my house, lose my college route and lose my car bc I won’t be able to drive for 3 months at least even though it’s my left foot that’s broken so no way I can pay my car insurance. Getting this surgery would just about ruin my life honestly. But if I don’t? Im not sure but the doctor said it will eventually be inevitable bc the pain will be so bad I won’t be able to walk at all so it’s either get it now or get it later. Right now I’ve got health insurance through the state and I can’t promise I can afford it later either.

I too suffered a Lisfranc injury in similar life circumstances to yours, except it was missed by three doctors. 15 years ago, never dealt with it properly, not a day goes by without pain. If I could go back I would have asked more doctors and had the surgery.

@@grit1679 I had the surgery and I was correct. I ended up in a crisis center bc my mental health couldn’t deal with the medical neglect, gas lighting, isolation and stress. My foot hurts now more than ever and I had the surgery back in January. Still not able to walk on it, not able to work or drive. I knew I shouldn’t have agreed to surgery but I thought it would help, it’s made everything worse.

@@haileymckenzie2502this is disheartening I was homeless when I got this injury I have shelter now but I need to work and I can't with it right now there has been a slight improvement since it happened but I'm still nowhere close to being good, it happened 3 months ago I had 2 drs miss it. Now the 3rd one seen it and hes recommending surgery but I'm not sure from what it sounds like surgery might make it worse but it has been 3 months of babying this foot and it feels like I have gotten almost nowhere idk what to do

Having viewed this video , I am one lucky person . I injured my left foot surfing 12 months ago . It was not diagnosed professionally , but having viewed your video, it was the 'dorsal' ligament for sure . I spent four months 'nursing' it . The last 3 months of which I gradually tried to bring back the strength and range through exercise . Having watched your awesome video , I now realise the gravity of the situation . Thanks for the great tutorial.

I've been in so much pain for 4 years after my lisfranc surgery and the doctors don't understand why 😭

This is by far the best explanation of lisfranc injuries I've come across it really helps me to visually understand my injuries. I have metatarsal fractures AND a chip fracture on the medial cuneiform and it has been over a week since my cast was removed , but I still have pain in the foot and there is a big gap between my 1st and 2nd toe but the doc won't do a follow up CT scan to check the healing of the chip fracture. He only relies on xrays. They also did not mention a ligament tearing.

@@dreams5x208 Your doc is supposed to tell you how much it has healed, how much weight bearing to start with and refer you to a physiotherapist who can help. If he has given you the okay to bear weight on your foot, I would initially use crutches as a support. There are videos on RU-vid showing how to do this and gradually taper off crutches.

Hi!! I had lisfranc surgery 22 days ago(& bunion fusion, AND a pin/screws placed to stabilize a stress fracture mid foot), so 3 different sites w/pins & screws, but OBVIOUSLY, the lisfranc is my biggest concern. Mine is..a bit different, in that, the reason I sought treatment in the 1st place was a SEVERE bunion, & an MRI revealed the lisfranc had heeled from a tear in the past(I think @ 3 years ago, I thought it was sprained, but it “heeled” quickly, so🤷‍♂️), & my Dr said the mid foot had moved 2 mm to the right(? Idk exactly what that means, but I’m sure you do)& that any more movement could result in the eventual collapse of my foot, hence the lisfranc surgery. What’s so odd to me is that-my foot feels GREAT, I’ve had very little pain-even immediately after the suger(ies). 11 days in I had my 1st follow up, I had the splint removed, & I was shocked at how good it looked, & how little swelling there was. It honestly looked better than before the surgery(the bunion was grotesque, HUGE)& frankly, I feel GREAT! If it were up to me, I’d have begun walking already. I’m BEYOND ready to go. Is this normal to feel so good & this little pain so soon after this surgery? Thanx!

I had a nasty lisfranc fracture 7 months ago. I had surgery with plates and screws to stabilise my foot. I have been walking unaided for 3.5 months and still have moderate to severe pain in my foot everyday. The pain is in the ball of my foot, the foot bed, the big toe knuckle joint, in between the knuckle joints, down the outside of my foot and shooting down the middle of my foot across the top. I am having the metal work taken out to see if this removes the pain. However this pain was the same pain i had when i had my accident so i do not think removing the metal will help. I am so fed up of this nasty injury its heartbreaking, it feels like my life is on hold. Constant pain is so hard to live with.

I had a football injury where a stud penetrated my boot and left a hole in my foot. Doctors said it was shattered metatarsals of the 5th and Lis Franc. Had a ORIF. Took about 16 weeks to get fully weight bearing. About 8 months later I was playing again. It was a bit numb with pins and needles at the start but now I have 0 issues with it, no pain, no discomfort. Practically back to normal and full mobility.

I had a Lisfranc injury at the end of 2019, I had ORIF just before Xmas 2019, took me about a year to recover. And I can’t stand/walk barefoot anymore without it hurting

Between my big toe and other toe is permanently swollen. I couldn’t walk more than a few minutes for just over a year and in 2021 I started pushing myself harder until I was finally able to walk more, I don’t drive so walking is my mode of transport so was really hard. Also had a 2 year old when I did it! Was hardest thing ever to recover from
