The Hero Supra just sounded so fuckin good. Im actually building my GS300 doing a NA-T on the 2jz-ge vvti using GTE pistons/rods, GTE headgasket, ARP studs, ACL bearings, a front facing intake manifold (Deepmotor w/90mm tb) DW 1000cc injectors, DW 420 pump, HKS muffler with full 3" exhaust, still deciding on the turbo n manifold for the setup but id love to achieve the sound of the Supra. Its spool n bov sound were amazing

Great video as always. I always knew that some of the cars just didn't sound like they should have. I wonder if they used as much sound modifications for the later movies in the series like they did for the first 2. An idea for a video, comparing car culture of today with all the cars and coffee meets that happen these days compared to car culture when the first F&F was made and released. What things are drastically different, what's stayed the same and where do you see car culture going as the era of EVs takes over. Keep the great videos coming Craig! 👍

Do you think the franchise has made car culture better or worse? Who else besides you had car culture experience and knowledge that you would work with again?

This video made me realize i knew some of the engine sounds weren't correct but i knew that because it was a movie. Instead of criticizing, i would try to think of which sound came from - the actual engine. The RX-7 always stood out to me as not being a rotary but i knew they wouldn't use the actual sound because it wouldnt fit the scene. Too funny!

At 1st when I was younger I thought Dom’s RX7 was a 3 rotor swapped in , but I knew for sure had to be 2jz-gte to it , especially a 2jz-gte being an all around best reliable platform and still is about being 3 decades later old engine

a little birdy told me that Slapjacks supra from 2fast2furious actually used Vg30dett sound clips from a z32 TwinTurbo.

Back when FF1 was new, I don't think it was even in theaters yet, I worked in the Computer Industry, and had acquired a bootleg copy of the Movie on 2 burned CD's (Video CD maybe it was back then?) The second disc was strange, it had the actual sounds for example during the race of the Supra vs Ferrari. At some point I lost those discs, or at least I have misplaced them. Was quite shocking to hear the actual sounds of some of those cars vs what was used in the screen movie!

Was always a fan of the sound of Jessies Jetta. It has a specific, almost melodious sound to it which I noticed the first time I saw the movie.

I saw it in the theater, I was 14. The first scene with the civics flying by was epic. The sound was perfect for those civics. Now having seen the movie probably hundreds of times, I think they did a great job with the sound. The charger sound was spot on. As far as doms RX7 and Lettys S14 it never bothered me. I just assumed they are portrayed as having engine swaps. It would have been unlikely to see a 2J swap in anything at that time since it was basically new. But it's a movie..anything is possible.

I know a lot of the car scene isn’t what it used to be back on the 80’s/90’s/2000’s but would you be able to do a video maybe explaining what you think the future of car mods will end up looking like? With EV’s and bland tastes on the rise, I see less and less body kits, wings, and especially interior modifications for a lot of cars that I’m personally interested in and it’s a shame to see, makes me feel like I was born 20 years too late. An updated, deep dive into what has happened and a look into if the culture will return to the glory days of 60’s-2000’s would be a really interesting video to me! Thanks for all you do Craig.

Need For Speed Carbon has the best car sounds imo. I like engine sounds but not sfx dogbox trans. The transmission sounds like a supercharger whine but still prefer their legit .wav recording.

What you have to remember is Dom was an American muscle guy. Why would he tinker with a pos rotary? He probably V8 swapped it.

I had a 1998 Ford escort zx2 that had a 16v zetec vct that I swar it sounded like Acura Integra I just put 3 inch exhaust with a dyno max muffler great video what about 1999 mustang gt is that a good movie car because I think mine would be great faded zinc yellow with gloss black stripes 😀 and cobra wheels 🛞 😀

I haven't noticed that RX-7 is not running rotary engine sound but I was like 10 back then. Now as I rewatch this movie... It's a disgrace. And I have only driven RX8s since RX7s are a holy grail now

I own a Mazda 3 IST these days. I modded 3 Ford Probes in those days. I'd like to see some stuff on my 2012 Mazda 3. With Skyactiv and Tiptronic shift mode like a Porsche, it's a fun car to drive. Good suspension and 4-wheel discs too.

The sound team and engineers usually never get enough credit and is usually criticized by people who are completely illiterate in the sound field. Will you ever do a video on BT Brain Transeau ? I am kind of assuming that is one of the people involved in the movie you did not really work with or even see? Involvement and information from his music production for the movie was with sound team , sound engineers, director and writers?

For a topic , how about doing some videos on older muscle cars ! Could do a series on AMC then Dodge GM Ford then do videos on other JDM cars not associate with the Fast franchise !
