I love cavetown because the subjects he touches on. This is home helping me realize I wasn't cis and that it was ok and lemon boy helped me come to terms with my anxiety

Fun fact: Lemon Boy is actually about Robin's anxiety, the lyrics "I pulled him out by his hair like a weed" is saying he just ignored the anxiety thinking nothing of it. "Like weeds do he only came and grew back again" is the anxiety coming back and "So I figured this time I might is well let him be" is saying, he just has to deal with it and live with it. ("Lemon boy" is Robin's anxiety") "Lemon boy and me have to get along together, I'll help him plant his seeds and mow the lawn in bad weather" is Cave trying to help the anxiety and over pass it. "It's actually pretty easy being nice to a bitter sweat boy like him, so I got myself a citrus friend" is him figuring it out and knowing he has to deal with it, it can be tough but sometimes it's easy (Bitter sweat) "Soon his bitter sweat started to rub off on me" as he didn't treat it enough the anxiety started to take over him leading him to losing some friends. "What if I run out of fertilizer? What if the clouds run out of rain? What if Lemon Boy won't grow any longer? What if beaches dry of sugar cane?" Is Robin showing fear, he doesn't want the anxiety to leave because he is too scared he will change too much if it does and doesn't want to be different.

4:57 I think you're right about the way it makes us feel - and that may also explain why he has such a huge amount of trans fans (of course the lyrics to his songs are another reason). Because that feeling is just 1000x better when you're experiencing gender dysphoria - I mean personally it is for me anyway since when I'm having a really bad dysphoria day I always put his music on to try and make it there less

I've seen him live on a festival here in belgium, he said it was the biggest crowd he had ever had (which yeah, the concerts were in like big circus like tents and it was completely full) and after every song he giggled slightly and said thanks, it was so sweet.
