I absolutely adore Dinner is not over Yet, like there's plenty of "please don't commit suicide" songs but this one is like... it just hits different, saying "yeah, you could and I know it feels much better, but that's later, you can die later, first we get through life, first we finish this" with that childlike metaphor that you have to finish all your dinner before you get dessert
i freaking love his songs even tho some people think it’s kinda freaky but really just listening to it while drawing a unique drawing or building a cool, funky outfit to wear or just to listen to it! i just think so unique which makes it so cool!!!
Cooking with Abigail is about a girl names Abigail who wants to have a cooking show, but her only audience is a bunch of creepy old men, which emphasizes the phrase "Walking around in her pretty apron". That's also why you see old men in the background, and Money underneath the door.
"Dinner Is Not Over" is about a girl contemplating suicide and a friend of hers is basically saying "Hey, maybe don't do that." Lyrics like, "You say, 'no more ways', and now you've got to chose; you said 'I've got the power to go anywhere', and darling, it's true." And "I've tasted dying and it tasted good, but that dessert; you can have it when the dinner is done!" really drive the point of the track.
Dinner is not over is my favorite song by jack. It soothes one’s fears of death by saying it will be a good experience while also telling the listener to wait for their life to be over before embracing death instead of rushing into it with suicide.
Dinner Is Not Over is one of my favorite Jack Stauber songs as it manages to perfectly encapsulate a very dark time in my life... and how I managed through it. The lines: "I've tasted friendship, I've tasted you/ I've tasted heartbreak, I've tasted food." Describe how the singer feels they've tried everything to find happiness but nothing tastes good, well nothing except... "I've tasted dying and it tasted good!" However that isn't the conclusion of the song, "But that's dessert, you can have it when the dinner is done." Is blunt but probably the truest way I've ever seen someone try to explain what it's like to put off suicidal thoughts. Death might be sweet but if you skip over life to get to it sooner it won't be satisfying... "So put it down." Which contextualizes the imagery of a lollipop noose or popsicle gravestone... It's been a while since I've watched your other Jack videos but if you're looking for more traditional songs I'd suggest Cupid and Dog Nightmare for very different reasons haha. Also Leopard if you want to experience whiplash eight times in a row!
Those Eggs Aren't Dippy is a recent favorite of mines. Some other suggestions: Deploy Fighter Cheeseburger Family Cupid Today, Today Inchman Keyman John & Nancy Beird Leopard Jack's music really speaks to me. I definitely would recommend Pop Shop Opera and Opal too.

I'm not sure if anyone else has commented this yet, but Dinner is Not Over is one of my favourite songs (it was extended into a full song by the way!). It's basically anti-suicide, and it's always been the most uplifting songs when I'm in a bad place. Instead of saying "don't die, its bad!" which just feels condescending, it feels much more understanding. Saying death is like dessert, saying I know it's tempting and I understand how much you want it, but you're just gonna have to get through dinner first. It feels like someone gets it, and we've all had to finish dinner before getting dessert, it makes life seem so much more manageable when everything seems bleak and overwhelming. I've always loved morbid art - maybe that's why I love this song and Jack Stauber so much - but even then, although Dinner is Not Over seems very dark, it has a really positive message in it.
Jack stubber is the best, I love his music and art style! I actually spent all day listening to his music he is truly amazing! Amazing video as always and I love how real your reactions are! hope you have a wonderful day/ night!
Its so strange seeing these reactions from someone, as I have always adored Jack's stuff, even from a pretty young age. These reactions are completely justified, I've just never thought about other's peoples perspectives.
as for Tea Errors its meant to be a play on 'terrors' since its a song about the anxiety and fear that comes with a relationship- im a huge nerd for Jack so just wanted to share that

This has nothing to do with the video, but there's a series called Nightmare Time from Starkid and they have amazing songs. I highly suggest "Time Bastard," "Jane's Car," "The Web I Spin For You" and "Honey Queen." All give quite a different vibe because the episodes are all different, kind of like Black Mirror, but all set in Hachetfield.
I don’t know why but I always have a furious desire to just pull the shirt of all people who listen to Jack Stauber (first time!!) that purely base it on the music and say: “NO NO NO! According to the lyrics that I spent 5 hours relistening to, this song is about the sad expectations of society and those around you!!” Or something like that. Idk why ( ´∀｀)

As someone who loves Jack Stauber, I feel bad for people who hasn't listened to him. It must be confusing when you first hear him, but the songs do really make sense if you listen

Oh it's Jack stuff again! My favorites of his are Dead Weight and Two time, the latter having a really good animation done by Ramdaram that matches the style of the song perfectly.

The second last one was about suicide. The the person said “I’ve tasted dying and it tasted good” they wanted to die obviously but then they said”NO that for dinner” saying live life first
I highly recommend listening to the extended versions, and it might even help listening to the music without the video animations, it makes you think about it differently.

ik that teeechnically your thing is music, but id really suggest reacting to cuptoast!! she makes very cute animations, sometimes with very dark twists in them, and often uses jack stauber's music as the bgm! shes very cool and i think her stuff is in line with what you've recently been dipping into :D
Idk why, but his songs is just so me, like it's strange, weird in a scary and unique way, the songs he makes just makes me feel happy, the videos/animation is disturbing yes, but I didn't care Abt that and all I cared was the song, the animation he makes are so disturbing but also attracts me and idk why
