Nooooomygawd SAME! This is literally my fave album period. Jihyo dove DEEP into her artistry and pushed the boundaries of kpop with this one. I am so proud of her for this record. She was do involved in writing the songs! Not just lyrics, she was part of constructing the actual songs themselves. Ugh perfection. "ROOM" still makes me cry when I hear it.
jihyo said this album is truly her blood, sweat and tears... in the videos that was released showing the process of recording the album you can truly see it. she wrote closer, whishing on you, don't wanna go back and nightmare she also composed talkin about it, don't wanna go back, room and nightmare you can find in Twice's youtube channel, a playlist for ZONE and there you will find jihyo recording nightmare, talkin about it, killin me good and in the zyo's zone zip ep.1 shows her recording a bit of don't wanna go back I really wished her album be more appreciated bcs she released a 10/10 album, and gave all of herself for this album. it's her solo debut after being like 18 years in jype, she really works hard and Onces need to recognize this also it's so good in nightmare and talkin about it in some parts, how you can listen that her mouth is wide opened and it gives such difference and add so much to the songs she performed nightmare in Twice's tour before the album got released, after its released she changed to killin me good and for their concerts here in latam she performed closer, their next concert is in vegas and we hope she perform talkin about it
The way I see it, 'Room' talks about pushing forward no matter how scary and unsure things are and refusing to go back to something that holds you back. It can easily be interpreted as not going back to a bad relationship and moving forward but I like how it can also be interpreted in terms of Jihyo's career. It's as if the song talks about her newfound sound as a solo artist and how she can express things she can't before as part of a group. It's scary but also exciting to go on this new journey as a solo artist and she was able to come out of the 'room' where everything was familiar and easy and sure which was TWICE. It seemed like this song was the culmination of her long journey and proclaiming that she is ready to try something new. I love this song so much, it just feels very freeing. Anyway, thank you for the reaction! I'd really appreciate it if you can also check out Nayeon's solo album I'M NAYEON. It's very different from Jihyo's solo album but is able to really capture who Nayeon is as a solo artist, just like how Zone really showed who Jihyo was as an artist as well. Thanks!
I love this, thank you for explaining your point of view for "Room" I will listen to it again! Also the video on Nayeon's album will come out next friday! Thank you for watching
don't wanna go back is one of my fav songs in general. jihyo participated as lyricist & composer in most of the songs and i think this album is very strong lyrically with very interesting melodies, one of my fav being don't wanna go back bridge, which jihyo constructed, it's so beautiful.
personally I'd give the lyrical content atleast 3/4 specially for don't wanna go back, room, nightmare, specially don't wanna go back explores relationships & breakup in a way most breakup songs don't, the maturity & self-acknowledgement in the lyrics was really refreshing and it painted a whole storyboard to me, room & nightmare were also very beautifully written exploring many complex emotions and rendering them beautifully into words that i just felt in my bones while listening
Agreed! To be honest while editing the video I was kinda wondering if I had to up my rating for lyrics because listening to it again, I found other meanings - but because my rating is the reflection of my immediate feeling on the album I kept it but I think if I was to rate it again I would probably get more points for lyrics because I have now a different context and view on the songs! Thank you for watching ❤
agree w you this song/album so good but untill now i dont understand why ppl hate this song😢just look at the views of the mv made me sad tho. it didn't even increase like nayeon solo😭💔
Jeongyeon's song "Bloom" that is now in With You-th was originally gonna be part of this album but Jihyo couldn't reach all the notes in the song so it became a Twice song instead
This album deserves all the praise and respect.. The album is a complete album with everything magnificent. These two songs, Dont Wanna Go Back and Room, are works of art. TMI: I love songs that can achieve magnificence with simplicity. ROOM is one of those songs. It is magnificent. Room and Handle It are two of my favorite songs that fit this description..
2:57 i remember some of the members being like "girl we could've done that, why didn't we get a call 🤨" lmao Regarding Room i interpret it similarly to the comment you read, as in being about the practice room during her trainee days or something related to that - kind of as if she promises herself she'll keep pushing in order to never have to feel stuck in it again and that, once she gets what to her might feel like freedom from it, she won't ever look back or have to feel that way again (which would be once she makes it)
Oh, I'm excited to se your reaction! And a curiosity that you maybe not know is that jihyo participate in 6 out of the 7 songs in this album (if I'm not wrong).
8:54, nope exactly what it is, jihyo had enought of news when her dating w kang daniel was out in 2019 (without their will, it was leaked) so shes def singing about folks talking about her relationships
zone probably also a world play of her nickname? before zone was released, in TTT, one of the staff gives her a nickname "zyo" in their letter towards jihyo. At first jihyo was confused what is zyo mean but then quickly reliaze that it was her name.
Very true what you say about emotion! I’ve been singing for ten years and I STILL struggle with emotion. I love the emotion in Jihyo’s voice. A lot of people said this album didn’t display her skills well, but I think the opposite, people don’t know the skill it takes to sing like this!
13:32 closer is 100% my favorite of this album, but I know I'm a bit suspicious to say, because the beat is Latin and well, I'm a LESBIAN LATINA! jihyo in the tour that is now being held in all other countries was presenting killing me good but in Mexico and here in Brazil she presented Closer because it is a Latin beat and we are and man I love her so much for thinking about it and having this consideration and thought "oh I think they're going to be very happy to hear a song that has a beat from their culture" and MY GOODNESS the performance was incredible, the screams here in Brazil were crazy, they said that we were the country that screamed the most in all the songs and the only country that sang all the songs from start to finish, you have to look on YT for any Closer performance here in Brazil, it's incredible! (the videos don't even capture half of the screams that were real, I went both days and I left deaf and without a voice
@@soliedaisy YES FRRRR💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 for the proud of all the lesbians i say with proud that the biggest lesbian support sana complete my heart while smiling at me 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 we won
35:07 nightmare was actually the first song to be revealed, you know? well twice started ready to be tuor before jihyo released this album, and all the members do a solo performance in this tuor, those who don't have their own song do a cover, the only exception was nayeon with "pop", chaeyoung which features "my guitar" which is a song that she composed herself and jihyo was presenting nighmare, but as two people chae and jihyo were presenting songs that they wrote themselves we thought it was normal but it ended up that a few months later it was announced that jihyo was going to release an album and then this song was officially released because they were only in a show just like chaeyoung's, and when the album was released jihyo started to perform killing me good instead of nighmare and here in Latin America she performed closer, it's the song that changed the most! (in these changing songs in performance, jeongyeon also changed, before she performed the cover of "juice" but then there was controversy with the original singer lizzo, then the company thought it was better not to sing songs by those who had controversy and now she sings cover from " can't stop the feeling" so cute)
What i love about Twice writing style is, they kinda have their own color Like how jihyo's song about what's on her mind. Up no more about how she cant sleep at night. Cactus about her died cactus. Get loud about how she warn dispatch. Dahyun writing is always inside her heart. cruel, crazy stupid love, gone etc And nayeon writing style inspired by other person. Rainbow inspired by chaeyoung, make me go inspired by psychopath in movie and depends on you inspired by mina
I found much meaning in this album, let me start by saying however that Killin Me Good could have been released as a singe because it was written by JYP where as all the other songs have meaning to Jihyo. Now obviously I can't relate to the first song but I can understand that Idols can't live a public life but in that song Jihyo says two things that relate to the rest of the album it's not going to happen twice and she's now in charge. The rest of the songs I do relate to because it's about falling in love and being in love then losing that love and the loneliness you feel. but not because that person doesn't love you any more. It's the opposite of Romeo and Juliet, die to stay together verses leaving cause you can't stand the pressure. Nightmare tells you all you need to know about her anger, when you want to be the reason another person has nightmares for the rest of there life your hurt and pissed. He knows who he is and he doesn't deserve her. OT9 forever (TIMELESS).
oooh that's super interesting, I feel like I was missing some context while listening to this album so I will probably listen to it again by myself and get all the lyrics and context right! Thank you very much for watching and explaining ❤
I think people hate on this song and album cause it doesn't sound as k-pop as they wished. Others probably because there is a man in the MV and people is crazy
To me, Room EMPHASIZES 😉 moving on from trauma- refusing to fo back to a space (mental or physical) where you were not respected, not loved, not seen as worthy, etc.
I think people don't really hate the song killing me good but hate the producer Lindgren, i read it somewhere they make discussion about twice and they kinda piss and tired with lindgren song I'm not sure why I'm not really into social media thing
i guess it's because lindgren is not a creative producer at all, he is stuck w one theme! we don't want him because it gets repetitive and harms twice and affects chart performance
Scientist, Set me free, Killin' me good and Takin' about it's beats literally sound alike. Their works are just so boring and uncreative. That's why we dislike him and his wife producing the tiltle track for TWICE
