My favorite witness was the bearded guy, too, who looked Brooks straight in the eye and said, "I saw you, Darrel Brooks. Yes, you!!" I really took notice of the cop's eyes as if he was ready to say, 'got a problem with that? He's my hero!

I know the judge is keeping her cool and handling this with as much grace to Brooks as possible because she doesn't wanna give any reason for mistrial or an appeal. She doesn't want to put these families through this torture anymore than they have been. Great coverage on the trial!

When Brooks retorted, "I know what hearsay is!" and then continued to demonstrate he has no idea what hearsay means... Makes me question the rules that allow a "competent" yet profoundly ignorant person to represent themself. All I can say is thank goodness the evidence is so overwhelmingly clear that no jury could possibly be confused by all his shenanigans.

I'm being sarcastic when I say - he's the smartest guy in the room! :) He seems to believe that he's going to be the first person to succeed on the conspiratorial argument of sovereign citizenship. I read that "the movement" is very prevalent in the prison systems. It is fascinating to watch him try to combine his prior public defender's line of questioning with and the sovereign nonsense.

At first I thought he was just saying hearsay randomly or because it was the only objection he knew. But after watching him use it I think it's worse than that. He seems to think that somebody telling the court what they literally saw right in front of them is hearsay evidence.

He has absolutely no understanding of relevancy, hearsay, leading.... or even when it would be proper to ask for "grounds".

I am from Sweden, and I have never seen anything like this from a courtroom. However I have seen this within a psyciatric ward, beeing a psyciatric nurse. Or as you mentioned, from a toodler. 😉 And the judge is AMASINGLY PATIENT!

My favorite witness by far. He didn’t let him dare try and take control, making sure the jury knew who “YOU” meant and let Brooks know he’s not in charge. Absolutely loved when he let him know how Brooks was a threat and he was trained to _eliminate_ the threat. Goosebumps. You just know that shook Brooks up to where he didn’t know how to react to questioning a man who admitted to aiming for him with intent to take out. That’s an officer I want to hug and tell him thank you. If someone like myself who lives in a completely different state, not affected by the parade personally can feel so good hearing how that witness testified and treated Brooks … I know victims injured and loved ones felt some relief, as well, hearing someone challenge him and stay stern. The superchat that mentioned him as being their SIL is very lucky to have someone like that in their life. He just wanted to protect his community.

Somebody in chat today noticed that the man does not seem to have the word "Please" in his vocabulary. I watched the entire trial today. He's adapting his behavior to the ongoing procedures. He's not stupid, just so self-centered that he can't acknowledge anybody else's viewpoint or indeed their right to walk down the street unmolested by him

He was out on bail when this occurred and he was in custody for pimping out a minor in Vegas. No he has no clue about personal boundaries. It was also evident in the testimony of his ex.

This trial has brought so many issues to light. I cannot recall such a tragic and extraordinary event in which the accused represents themself on top of professing to be a Sovereign Citizen. The prosecutors are doing an excellent job of presenting their case and the judge is doing a superb job of creating a solid record and closing off all avenues for an appeal. OMG, yes! The part at the end where he *CLEARLY* makes a point to hold his bible upright, positions it perfectly, moves his fingers out of the way, so the jury can see the front cover, and starts to read. 🤣 He did something similar yesterday with his bible, and looked around to observe if people were seeing his read. As soon he he noticed the camera was watching, he quickly shot down his eyes. 🤣 I almost fell out my chair, and also hurt my eyes with rolls. It’s hilarious. As each day passes, he getting worse, more bold and brazen, and off the rails in behaviors. It’s mounting like a time bomb.

My family and I were unfortunately present at this parade. I saw DB drive through the Catholic group about 20 feet to my right. Luckily a pick up truck from the group before had stopped just to our left or he would have come straight through my family and I. As painful as it has been watching this trial. It’s been to try and get a better understanding of what fully happened that day! Your summaries have really helped confirm what I’ve been thinking watching this mess!

I'm glad you summed up his various counter arguments because I have been trying to figure out what his defense would be and can't. There was a moment where he questioned a witness observation on the color of his sweatshirt that day which made me wonder if we would try to claim he wasn't even the driver.

I'm with you Peter I like watching the Judge handle him. In my opinion he will be convicted. When she finally gets to sentence him I think she will have a special speech for him and he will stand there and argue the whole time. When she finishes she will tell the bailiffs to take him out. I hope they keep the cameras in so we can watch.

@@honestly3371 I completely agree, I've been in tears at many points. I just want to reach through the screen. The whole city experienced a horrible tragedy, and he gets to stand up there and make a mockery. It's infuriating, all my love goes out to the victims and their families. The witnesses have been so brave and composed idk how they doit. Seems like a great community ❤️ I cannot wait to hear guilty!!

I'm a new subscriber to your channel and wanted to say that you offer a breakdown on the law as it is where you are. I live in Canada and this sovern citizens that seem to believe that their way actually works, my understanding is I've never seen one case where they actually win.

I'm in! Watch a lot of trial analysis on YT and yours is very impressive. One question. The State represents - not only those injured at this parade - but all citizens of Wisconsin against criminal harm and litigates on their behalf. Isn't the term, 'plaintiff" reserved for civil litigation? Is this one of the alleged defendant's" many semantic errors? Thanks!

Can't remember which witness he was cross examining; but Brooks showed an exhibit of his vehicle, with his clearly visible face behind the wheel, looking out the window and directly towards the camera. As dark as it sounds, I couldn't help but laugh.

I cracked up when the judge accidentally said 'substain' and quickly corrected herself. He keeps butchering words even though others around him are saying it correctly. This proves he is not willing to listen or learn.

I would imagine this could end up being a textbook teaching trial for studying lawyers. It's completely Shakespearean, a comedy and tragedy on multiple levels.
