I 100% agree that Venus and mars requires a remix. It would be a good video to focus on the production of McCartney albums. They really differ in sound - would be good to explore the reasons and what works, works less well etc.

May I just say I LOVE the underdubbed version. Mamumia and Bluebird are BEAUTIFUL here. Paul as his sweet songwriting best! This is Paul freaking McCartney, THE musical genius of my lifetime (I’m 71) and I feel privileged to hear these songs stripped down a bit. Thank you!!❤❤❤❤

Hello Andrew, I really enjoyed your world cup today, it was fun and entertaining regarding the people's views of the songs from BotR especially it was my first, , like i mentioned in the chat BotR, Jet, 1985 and Mrs Vandebilt are among the best of the album. After all the hype and hoopla.. my opinion is that the Undubbed is ok. A nice listen not must have. I prefer the bonus disc on the 2010 deluxe set with Geoff Britton . That said , I pulled out my original Band album from 1973 ( Actually got it Christmas 75’) and for my money ( or lack of saving some!) I think it sounds great ! Not spending anymore $ on this album . I will just stream it. The title cut the best track on an album that all songs are brilliant 😊. Thanks again Andrew

Let Me Roll It just a fantastic sounding song..People who wonder why Paul always plays it, he knows. It was also used some years ago in a movie called licorice pizza“ next to Life On Mars and other big ones. Also on spotify its the 7th most popular Wings song. A stand out song! Maybe because it sounds most to a John song.

I don't have Paul's missing Hofner Bass. It's been missing for awhile. Interesting if they really did find it. I'm a left handed bass player like Paul. Paul's left handed Hofner Bass is probably one of the first left handed bass guitars. Paul has another Hofner Bass which is very close to the original. Also a left handed bass. Cool for Paul if it really was found. Cool stream! Watched in re-run. Greetings as always from New Jersey.. )^_-)/ All the Pot Heads voted for let me roll it! LOL

Came late unfortunately but I thoroughly enjoyed the World Cup. How about a mammoth version of that format with a draw on the best Beatles cover song, eg:- "With A Little Help From My Friends" by Joe Cocker or "Lucy" by Elton John. Really enjoyed the On Air.

The new movie Argylle has Now And Then in it, Giles Martin somehow is involved in the movie and he suggested the song a year ago to the director for a love scene and he thought it fits perfectly! I'd always figured No Words sounded more like a George song than Let Me Roll It sounds like a John song. If I had to suggest an actual example, the melody of the opening lines is a _bit_ like the verse of If I Needed Someone, but that lead guitar sounds like later George. I thought maybe these two songs were offering the hand of friendship to George and John (while Picasso's Last Words offered bad advice to Ringo), but I don't know how No Words being a Denny Laine co-write fits in with that idea.

Thanks for that! Would have expected Jet to be a bit higher, but I suppose Band On The Run makes it in to more of the generic 1970s hits playlists so benefits from that.

@@AndrewDixonMusic Yes, if we were still in the 70s it would be closer.. Paul had so many hits that not all can be remembered the same way as Band On The Run or Live And Let Die. For example Pipes Of Peace is his only Beatles+Solo #1 that has less than 10m streams. If you get interested about these, type in beatles/Paul McCartney/Wings/John Lennon etc + Kworb top songs and you get the full list :)

I have loved Paul McCartney since i was 7 years old. Paul can create a song at the drop of a hat, and that is his biggest problem. With the absence of anyone like George Martin or the other Beatles to say "No!", everything he does is automatically a "Yes" and Paul simply can't tell the difference between genius and crap....it all becomes "output". I really like "Picasso's Last Words" and "Let Me Roll It"- the rest of this album is subpar and undeserving of his talent. The last thing I want is another version of it.

Why do you act like this is the greatest thing since white bread?? It’s 50 year old Band On The Run re release!!! I know Beatles channels act like everything that McCartney puts out is wonderful and exciting but this is unnecessary if you own the album already Also half speed is no reason to buy this Gimmick!! McCartney won’t even let you buy the undupped version without buying the standard version also!!

Yes you can buy the Underdubbed version separately, as I mentioned in this live stream. Available from qobuz.com and likely other places. Did I suggest anywhere that this was the greatest thing? No Do I act like everything McCartney puts out is wonderful? No, his previous release last month I described as record company insanity that no one was asking for and I wanted nothing to do with. Criticise my words all you like but at least be factually correct about it please.
