Wow! Very well said! Bought the mini pro 2 tears ago.. never thought I bought the one without the ISO and now would've wanted the ISO for separate recordings.. or maybe just have an external recorder. 2nd is wanting the extreme iso just for the sake of having the 2 screen output like a split screen box type.. for better pip.. But lastly.. I think the roland has far better use for it.. haha! Anyways. Love this vid! Thank you Sarah!
I have quite a few switchers from ATEM, YoloBox Pro, Epiphan etc. They all have their pros and minuses. I like the Roland VR-1HD but it is missing an encoder, so you will need a laptop or hardware encoder to stream. Whereas the ATEM has it's own encoder but you need a laptop to control many of the advanced features such as keying and audio. So really both the ATEM and Roland need laptops (or encoder) to do full production but definite advantage to Roland on the audio side. Interestingly the YBP can switch, stream/encode without a laptop - albeit the audio is no where near where the Roland is. The Roland has REAL preamps. Which brings me back to where I started (LOL) -> each has pro's and con's.
Nobody mentioned but I love your thumbnail Sara!!!! I am a small RU-vidr and I always look up to bigger female youtubers especially tech youtubers! Been following you for years!~~ Sending love from China
The atem mini pro has its on encoder and decoder using the black magic software which is great if you dont have a powerful streaming pc it will take the load off great for game streaming where pixelation can occur during high frame rate especially using low bitrates like twitch.
It was the coolest ad segment I've ever seen. Like seriously, I usually skip them all but this one was amazing, so engaging! This is how partnerships should be done - relevancy and interesting live presentation, over a boring "read the script" thing :)
Great video Sara! Can you please share your way of recording this video - how can you record in 4K on the mentioined Atomos Shogun while outputting video signal from the Atem Mini Extreme Iso - which is a full hd device... it would be great if you could describe your solution. Actually I also work with Roland VR-1HD as well as Roland V160HD and Sony FX6's :)... one thing that I would improve is the ability to record the program output in 4K... Thank you and take care.
Hey Sara! Great stuff as usual! On the Atem Mini Pro, have you ever tried streaming direct to RU-vid with the Ethernet output? I had tried running usb through OBS and the old system I was running couldn’t do the encoding very well. Just wondering your pref for getting to RU-vid but still with the best bit depth. Better computer and OBS? Or Ethernet and use the in-box encoding?
I've been running streams from Atem Mini Pro's to RU-vid weekly since the first Pro came out, and the Ethernet Output is the same as the USB output, the only reason to go via OBS is if you want do your graphics that way. Personally I've been using the extreme recently and with 8 inputs I would always do graphics in hardware and stream via ethernet. I'd prefer to do that on the mini as well, but 4 inputs isn't a lot when graphics need two of them.
@@danielatolmc52 Thanks for the thoughts! I’ve always found OBS a bit clunky. I’m now wondering if there’s a way to use something like a Stream deck to real-time change the graphic in MP1 on the PRO and then be able to cycle live. Curious if you are running your whole setup yourself? Or do you have a team that helps? Seems like a lot to be streaming, plus changing graphics over, and switching cameras etc.
@@CharlesSzczepanek You can Bitfocus Companion to integrate the ATEM switcher onto your Stream Deck. You may check out also Aaron Parecki's YT channel as well about this. Hope this helps!
Hello Sara, I found this video looking for a Mevo vs Atem video comparison. I have an ATEM switcher but Im honestly thinking about changing over to the MEVO as you have both what do you think. The purpose is id like to set up a podcast studio that clients can rent out. You may speak on this I havent finished the video yet. Just curious would you rather have the MEVO kit or the switcher.
Remeber there's the supersource in The ATEM Mini extreme and ISO models, wich is way better than doing Picture's and picture's and a lot more of customization and capabilities; also if im not mistaken the ATEM's Can be controlled with the streamdeck unlocking the capabilities of the switcher; Also The Mini Does do 1080P60 just check the settings in the software control
Yes! With all the stuff I talked about just didn’t have time to explain super source but maybe another time :) and you’re right what the heck I could have sworn I was stuck at 30fps. Will do a pinned comment
Thanks Sara for this video. Quick question for you. I have a sony a7siii and I need a second camera for an additional angle. Its for a home studio for a youtube channel. I also just bought an Atem mini extreme iso. I have the choice of getting another sony camera of lesser value or a BMPCC like the 4k or 6k. Would would you suggest? Do you think the black magic could go well with the sony in the same setup? Would you mix them? Thank you!
During the Roland segment the video is slightly delayed from the audio. Is it adjustable in the device's settings and just went unnoticed or it's a hardware issue?
You Hit a HOME RUN on the Audio issue with the ATEM. It's so amazing at video, but the audio feels half-baked. It'd be nice if they'd add some balanced, high quality 1/4" in's that could take input from a pro mixer board, etc. I remember year or so ago, they had to address a buzzing issue with my ATEM, so I sold mine :(
i would say the switchers are great for professionals especially for event livestreams but not anyone trying to start out in livestreaming. this might be not affordable for beginners. switchers pretty cool for sure
XD Before watching past the intro, Switchers are a godsend. use a Blackmagic's products at my auditorium for live streaming performances the past 2 years, and they are a must have. Looking at various switchers for my own work post graduation, so I'll be investing in one hopefully this summer~
I don’t remember Sara talking about live-streaming often but now telling people they don’t know how to do it😅like telling someone they don’t know how to do their job when you’ve never done it yourself. Just a video talking about audio tools. Kinda turning more into a lifestyle channel involving tech
Well my mind is COMPLETELY blown 😂.. I want to start live streaming..but dunno how... want to on this channel.. The Hungry Fox... Cooking channel with my girlfriend.. also on my bigger channel..automotive channel.. The Fox Shop... ok even more confused how to do it now 😆...
I still have to work on my content on my channel 😅 but baby steps and then hopefully eventually I'll grow my channel and then eventually live stream. Keep up the awesome content.
$400 for ONE Mevo is kinda 'for a niche', we have some GoPros around but I hope Logitech update his regular wired webcam because Brio and Livecam is such a 'bad' quality cam right now, comparing to Razer's Kyo Pro and Elgato Facecam. I just dumped my Brio for a Kyo Pro, no regrets!
Why would you claim I am live streaming wrong because I don’t have a redundant, expensive piece of equipment like a video switcher? My streams work great without it and my bank account loves that fact.
Bruh 3 minutes of a 30 minute video was from the sponsor 😂😂😂 like I said in the beginning of the video to each their own I’m glad you found a setup for you. My teleprompter setup with the switcher and then going straight to my computer has been amazing and just wanted to share
@@saradietschy Cool, but that’s different, not necesarrily better. ;) Anyway, you got me to watch the video for a bit, which was the goal, so… Good on ya. Keep on grinding, I like your videos, this just kinda didn’t hit me right. :)
