Very interesting - I remember the Liverpool Show at the Wavertree Park. I think there was also a mens clothing shop, The Holt Brothers in the downtown area and I also remember the school, The Holt had a very good reputation. Thanks for posting
Lion the steam engine stood at Lime St Station untill the war and was said to have gone to Crewe works but it was stored in the sidings of Spekeland Road and Tunnel Road at the far end of the coal sidings under a tarpaulin for many years way into the late 60's. It was moved only when they started to build the parcel depot, I thought it was scrapped but that's when it must have moved to Crewe works. You may have to do another video on your Littlewoods site after another major event held there in 1886, I have been delving into this all day and answered a question I've had since I was kid about the railway station near the park gates, I knew it had a connection to Queen Victoria but could not find anything about it, I remember the curved platform of polished sandstone but by time i left school it was all gone and the park lake, eventualy the new road was built and all was lost. I have gone through old maps of the area and shows the station had three platforms but I only ever seen the one.
