As a Liverpool fan I’m absolutely gutted. I can accept losing when we’ve been outplayed, but it’s so frustrating to lose solely due to refereeing decisions.
As a Tottenham fan, I agree. I don’t like winning this way. It doesn’t feel like we won. If we were to somehow win a title race with Liverpool, and win it by less than 6 points, I will look to this match and think wether we really deserved it. It doesn’t feel like victory.
@@MrHillsidestranglerdefinitely the officials did that on purpose. As City lost to wolves and obviously liverpool would have won to come on top of the table.. So it's clearly a conspiracy.
As a Liverpool fan, I appreciate you using your platform to raise this issue. You have my respect. A lot of fans fail to realise as much as they hate Liverpool, this will eventually happen to your team unless it is stopped.
This isn't about 1 club, it's about all clubs uniting against terribly inept officiating, today we are all Liverpool, a few weeks ago we were all Wolves, VAR has to go until we deserve it
Yep, it's one of the few things that unites every fanbase in the league: it needs to be fair and consistent. Matches should be won on merit, not getting lucky that the ref gave a bogus red card, and disallowed a completely legitimate goal. Losing via referee hurts so much more than just been the worse side on the day, and at this point it's happened at least once to every team.
All spot on but that's a clear as day red card. Accidental or not you can't challenge like that. Be a different story if bousama went off with a potential leg break. Love to have seen the Liverpool reaction if someone did that to salah and only got a yellow.
I really respect this Mark, you are a true football fan and not just a tribal united fan. This game was ruined by horrible refereeing. Respect to you mate, appreciate it x
Liverpool fan here, MASSIVE respect to Mark, loved every second of your video. You earned my sub for putting rivalry aside and talking facts, they are ruining the beautiful game 😞
@@strollic5162 The thing is: without VAR, ppl won’t have the expectation that decisions are always correct. There will be wrong decisions against all teams, and that would be part of the excitement. And there would be no millimeter offside complaints.
@@strollic5162"imagine them without it". Unless you're around 6 years old, you don't need to imagine, just remember. I don't remember talking about this many awful decisions before VAR.
Take heart from this. Tottenham had to benefit from two absurd decisions to scrape past you with nine men. What Liverpool achieved, considering the circumstances, was very nearly a defensive miracle.
Nothing but respect for you Mark for saying it as it is. It’s easy for me to call it out as a LFC fan, but for a United fan to call it, fair play, you genuinely care about the beautiful game which is unfortunately under jeopardy by these incompetent officials.
I'm a utd fan,but a football fan also.a good game is a good game.i was actually looking forward to the spurs/Liverpool game .Mark gets a lot of stick, but in fairness he knows what's what
I’m a Tottenham fan but I agree we won because of the refs. I’m gonna make a video about it to spread awareness about the horrible officiating. I would never want this to happen to us, sorry and good luck to LFC.
Tottenham fan too. That was a joke. The refs were absolutely useless and that goal by Diaz even I was screaming at the tv for that. Just ridiculous. I never wanted var and it’s a joke. Totally criminal game of football.
Gotta say, Mark's always at least _trying_ to be even-handed in his analysis; this is why I've always tuned into Mark's content, especially as a Liverpool fan. 5 stars, mate.
I was absolutely fuming after the match. It felt like a horrible joke was being played on our team and fans. Enough to make me question my own sanity and the rules of the game I grew up playing. It was so refreshing seeing someone that dislikes Liverpool as much as Mark defend them so passionately for his love of the game. Thank you for reassuring football fans everywhere that the world hasn't completely gone mad yet.
I can imagine. It was a joke. I played an amateur game as a kid when the ref was one of their played dads and it was like that. Joke of a game, joke refereeing. Totally ruining football. I’m a Tottenham fan too. I’m lost for words.
im an arsenal fan, for me the 1st red card is a red, thats a potential leg breaker. Also i agree that diaz goal looked onside, but just like they did with arsenal, they forgot to draw the lines
As a LFC I'm totally disgusted that the referee team ruined a good game between equal teams this season. After all the decisions in that game, I'm so upset. I needed to hear that I'm not just delusional and that others are seeing how bad and mad these decisions are.
As a Barca fan, my respect for you just grew intensely, you’re not actually bias but objective and honest in your assessments. These Premier league officials are a disgrace. Liverpool were absolutely robbed.
As a spurs fan, this is true. I felt so mad about the referee. Being robbed a little is okay, i can forgive it, but this is daylight robbery. We should not have won this game, we really shouldnt. Liverpool should have drawed with us. In this game, Mark was right, where was var? Premier league referees are really too much.
As a gunner fan, i can feel how gutted the liverpool fan must be feeling today, but have to admire the grit and , resilience with which your team fought despite it being 9 vs 13
Always had a soft spot for Arsenal, as a Liverpool fan, hearing this, thank you for the solidarity Sorry this happened to you too against Brentford last season, we know how it feels
Spurs fan here and I’m sorry but you have to realize that’s only 2 games we’re been “fortunate” I mean if you watched our game vs Sheffield you would know how bad some refs truly are
As a spurs fan, This match was so messed up on all levels. I couldnt help but feel really bad for Liverpool as it felt that everything was against them today especially the referees. Ended up not cheering when the final whistle blew edit : Damn looks like some you guys cant comprehend that you can support a club and NOT celebrate every win
As a Liverpool fan I couldn't be prouder of my team. Wasn't sure that we could really compete this season even after the good results thusfar, but after this game I know we have a real shot. And to the Spurs fans and fans of other sides who have acknowledged something was badly wrong with the officiating yesterday, thank you. I hope for all of us that this debacle can set in train some sort of proper reform.
As a Tottenham fan, I speak on behalf of all other fans when I say that Liverpool did not deserve to lose that match. Sure, we might have seen a few more goals had the goal been given but that ruling absolutely changed the tempo of the game. The refs need some serious looking into as soon as possible.
Yes and Mark is right. Even as a Spurs fan, I do of course fully understand Liverpool's frustrations. But how many times did Liverpool rob Spurs in the recent past... a taste of their own medicine. I just hope the officiating and VAR are not gonna be the talk of the season week in week out.
You don't speak for me 😂 And you have no idea how the game would have gone, the decisions completely changed the game like you say. And there's no way to know how it would have gone.
@@BambinoAmericanoexactly, almost every game decisions have gone their way. But 1 goes against them and the world is coming to an end 😂 Yes it was a terrible mistake, but idgaf 😂
@@rampager1990and this will happen to you again, it’s not just Liverpool, put your bias aside and see it for what it’s doing to football as we know it.
@@BambinoAmericano Mate, it's not about who robbed whom and when, it's about terrible officiating which is ruining the game. It can be any team, football is suffering.
Liverpool one of the best disciplined teams the last few years, now three reds already, refs and var not fit for purpose. Ruined the game of the weekend. Pathetic.
As a Liverpool fan I’ve got to say I’m so glad we have football fans like you mark we need more like you and I’m so glad that rivalry goes out the window when the beautiful game we all love is getting demolished in front of our very eyes, I applaud all the fans who stand together against these corrupt leeches
As a Liverpool fan, it was the same for Casemiro’s tackle last year, it’s absolutely disgusting to call this league the best in the world with the horrific refereeing that occurs week in, week out.
@@Chr15Payne You're in a minority...but hey, I guess you always think that you're the smartest person in the room. Btw unless you're in a phone box or your downstairs WC, the latter's pretty unlikely!
Thank you Mark - I appreciate your comments. I am not a Liverpool fan neither Spurs. This VAR is beyond a joke. They are shameful and embarrassing seriously!!
This has made the loss a lot better, thank you Goldbridge for being better than most of us. Unbiased and spot on, best football content creator in the world!
This is up there with the worst refereeing displays ever. It's absolutely disgusting. How the hell are these people not held accountable for their incompetence or is it just corruption.
Big up to you Mark. As a lifelong Liverpool fan I can only say how powerful your message is, especially considering the rivalry between our two clubs. As stated by LFC vlogger Neil Jones, we should all forget our tribal allegiances and call out all examples of such appalling ref/var decisions, even when it affects some of our biggest rivals. Maybe then the PGMOL will not be able to hide behind the weak apologies.
I only discovered your channel recently, and although I'm a Liverpool fan I instantly liked about you that you're a football fan, just like most of us, and you really are objective about the games and football matter, so big respect for that. And this video just shows the same. It shouldn't matter what team anyone supports, football is losing here. I'm from Eastern Europe, but I watch the Premier League since I was a kid, since Bolton or Blackburn were in it. This modern day officiating is so bad, and I would have never thought that VAR could be used in such a bad way...
Well yea but when your on a yellow you shouldn’t be lunging into tackles so it’s his own fault really. But I do feel the game was ruined by the referees with the jones red card
Thank you for highlighting this . Jota’s first yellow card wasn’t a yellow. Diaz’s goal was onside and Jones didn’t deserve to get the red card. It’s shameless the match fixing . The PGMOL need to be investigated and the officials need penalising.
Thank you Mark for speaking the truth and being so brave about it! Even some liverpool platforms are still worried about being polite and not offending any offcials. I wish more Liverpool channels can speak the truth loudly as you are!
As a Liverpool fan, I’ve reached new levels of anger that I didnt think were possible. I actually can’t believe the refereeing and officiating performance we saw yesterday.
@@douglastaggart9360 I don’t believe in al this nonsense about conspiracy theories and that refs hate Liverpool. But I’ve never in my life seen so many awful decisions made in a single game.
Great respect for you Mark. That’s why I follow you because you are fair and unbiased even though I am a LFC fan. You should’ve been made the head of PGMOL and root out all these corrupt decisions that are ruining the game
I have so much respect for mark because he has always been fair in his assessments. No bias for or against teams, when Man U are in the wrong he admits it and agrees with calls, when his rival team are robbed he speaks out for them. A true proper football fan, is all fans had this attitude football would be a safer environment
As a Reds supporter, Very well said Mark. im absolutely loss for words. Football is losing its passion with moments like this week in and week out. It felt one sided as soon as the game started, just so so so many obvious errors. Its a horror to watch, and all the fans get it is a pitiful apology. either they fix the system or it goes away, i cant stand to watch anymore.
I don't care about the result that much, obviously if we lose the title or the top 4 by a point then it will suck, but the spirit Liverpool showed is absolutely inspiring. That performance was utterly incredible. I'd like Liverpool to have proper refereeing, but we have dealt with the adversity with incredible integrity, determination and composure.
Mark, I just want to say I have the utmost respect for you for coming out and saying that. You are a Man Utd fan but you always try and make points and criticise things that will help the game. That officiating today is an absolute joke and it is ok everyone saying that but it’s like someone at their job negotiating with someone to but their product for the owner and basically saying it’s an awful product and not to buy it. I honestly think that refereeing performance today was sinful and the people behind it should never step foot in anything to do with football ever again because they have absolutely no clue what they are doing and seem to just be making whatever decisions they want. As a football community we need to unite together to get our game back and I will call it out if the likes of Man Utd get a decision against them which is not fair. I know this is a long comment but thank you to anyone who reads it and thank you Mark once again for your great work.
Not even a Liverpool fan but that referee performance makes me angry. As an Arsenal fan we had this happen to us last season against Brentford but an apology isn't enough. Game should be replayed
It happens to teams that are a threat to City . Arab oil money runs through PGMOL and as soon as City drops points , they screw those teams who can capitalise .
@@alirezaei514 City usually have decisions go their way and I do think some of the refs have clear bias against some teams but even City had that ridiculous Rashford goal given against them at Utd last season.
@@ryanlewis4556deluded top 6 fans thinks everything is an agenda..City are screwed over just like everyone else..even today's game Wolves players were diving all over the pitch to fool the referee, even though they still outplayed us but it happens
I appreciate Mark for genuinely being honest about his big rivals. He’s right too! Gusto’s red last week wasn’t red and a bunch of horrible decisions being made by the best league in the world.
Mark I agree with most of what you have said. The only thing that I would say is although Jotas challenge was a yellow. The first yellow was a farce. Other than that you have spoke out and represented football fans everywhere and as a Liverpool fan I really appreciate what you are doing for the sport
For your honesty and facts spoken, you got yourself a Liverpool diehard fan subscriber. We must look at this kind of robbery to protect all clubs, and I am with you for everything you said. Much respect Mark, and thank you for standing up for all of us and exposing the blatant robbery. I am so furious and in flames right now. 😭🤬😡
I'm not even a Liverpool fan (I'm a United fan) but this match and refereeing/var pissed me off so much. Liverpool were definitely robbed and really didn't deserve to lose. I feel like both United and Liverpool are being targeted this season and the refereeing is a disgrace in this league
As a spurs fan, that offside call was insane. For sure. The first red idk, I can see why it was a red but I also see why it wasn't. Either way the refereeing is horrendous this season so far and we are only 7 games in.
This is the reason why Mark Golgbridge has over 1.74 million subscribers because he is factual and understands football, rivalry aside the officiating is beyond pathetic its down right criminal, calling them out doesn't seem to help because each week it's worse, he has the guts to call it as he sees it, as a LIVERPOOL fan I truly enjoy his channel, he is earnest it everything he says even on rival teams, he is by far the best analyst in my humble opinion, even as a Man U supporter he is fair, keep it up Sir I , enjoy your opinions!!!!!
But if it was man utd, you wouldn’t say anything. You would be saying United crying about VAR yet again. The hypocrisy in this Liverpool fan base is embarrassing
@@Vince888Honestly some fans yes, but I agree with Mark that it's first about the football, and not about which teams. I've seen bith man u and Liverpool get robbed and be the beneficiary of terrible decisions. Its not about one team or another but the fact that overall they continue to fail at using VAR
Well said, Mark. Although you're a United supporter, you do a great job here of advocating for fairness and a level playing field for all clubs, not just your own. A true fan of football, full stop. I agree - I could put up with a wrong refereeing decision in the moment, we've got by just fine like that for over a century - but this VAR farce is beyond ridiculous.
Probably my proudest moment of being a red this season. No blame towards Joel they were bloody shattered. Liverpool we love you. Officials are a disgrace as always.
I am LFC fan me and my father are the biggest fans for Liverpool in jordan middle east, we don't have problem with losing but losing in this way is heart breaking, i took my father to the hospital because his blood pressure went to the roof its disgusting to lose this way 😢
Mark is right. There's no point in laughing cos it happens to an opposition team today, because it will happen to your team tomorrow. Incredible to think that by adding a computer system to improve decisions that they have actually made things worse.
Thank you for consistently being unbiased. In this day and age when you need 90+ points to win the league, this cannot happen. We have been completely robbed at a chance to get 3 points because of shambolic refereeing decisions
Glad he’s unbiased. Why I watch this guy despite being a Liverpool fan, i agree with him more often than not when he thinks United was robbed. Love his reactions when United lose though 😂
Thanks a lot Mark for this acknowledgment, We as Liverpool fans have been utterly disappointed with the officiating. They just have to fire all those rubbish referees Massive respect for bringing this up as a Man United supporter.
Offside that was onside. Red card that wasn’t a red card. 2 yellow cards to the same player who neither was a yellow. Liverpool have been ROBBED. And I wanted Liverpool to lose.
The fact that the game was already ruined, and then Matip has that heartbreak moment after that embarrassment of officiating…Matip has to deal with the Ref’s problems, and I feel so bad for him. Respect earned here. You speak more truth than the entire English FA
As a Liverpool fan I thought you would love this but you are a football fan and I applaud you for your opinions 👍 VAR has to go, you had the same incident with casimero😡
Thank you mark you’re the biggest voice in RU-vid football and to see you post this is so good to see. This isn’t a Liverpool thing this is a football thing and as fans we need to come tigether the reffs have become a epidemic.
I think this is the first blindingly obvious example of how VAR is used to manipulate the result of a game Credit to Liverpool for staying in the game for so long against such odds
Coincident after City lose, Epl is rigged, as a United fan I have no dog in this fight, but City will win the title again and it's just becoming boring
I appreciate your honesty and I have only just been able to come and watch these kinds of videos... I can't take these silly decisions anymore! Spitting facts, Mark!
Thank you Mark, that was very sincere. Only a true fan of the sport would come out like that at this travesty. It is nothing to do with corruption, it was sheer incompetence frkm the fact that VAR was not functioning properly for the first goal that was chalked off for a wrong offside, to the Jones sending off and the two very quick yellows for Diogo . PGMOLreleased a statement tonight but the game has gone and we've lost the points. This point is that we have referees in both var and on the pitch that have spoilt many games for many clubs now especially since the introduction of var and many points lost unjustly for errors in judgement from people who are supposed to officiate the game. Trust has gone.
This is why I follow marks channels he doesn’t mess about. He speaks the truth. Ima Liverpool fan but enjoy this guy’s commentary far better than almost every other channel. I’ve been telling all my Utd friends to get into his channel. Top drawer. Cheers mark. Respect the honesty 🙌🏼
I completely agree. Im a Liverpool fan but i swear i would actually be angry if this happened to any other team in such a big game, and they don,t even show the lines.
THANK YOU an honest football assessment.I'm a Liverpool fan and really respect this man. There is so much crap of people on other channels who just refuse to analyse the decisions as they are not Liverpool fans.
The only good thing about this game is that Premier League showed everyone how corrupt this league is. There were always suspicions and rumors, but today they didn't even try to hide it. At least everybody saw that.
Total respect to Mark Goldbridge the epitome of a true football fan . Being a life long Liverpool fan and disliking his choice of club to support as much as he dislikes mine I wholly concur on the fact that the beautiful game is being ruined for fans of all clubs by the sheer and gross incompetence of officialdom which is never held accountable for its actions and just seem to carry on regardless except for lame apologies being issued 🤬
