I was 8 when I saw this when it aired. Was in karate (still in martial arts, and love karate still), and laughed till I peed. I saw so many people like this in tournaments and what not. Was lucky to have a damn good instructor. And yeah....Jim definitely had to have studied something. He could easily mimic body movements too. Whatever the case, it's perfect hahaha

When I was a kid my Tae Kwon Do instructor was basically this guy crossed with Rex (Kwon Do). We learned those "arm must be completely straight" knife defence things, and he was a former "world champion" (of the tiny organisation he was a part of)
My cousin (who is a lifelong law enforcement officer) and I, when we were teenagers, walked up the back steps to the upstairs room for the Billy Blanks karate classes. The little tiny guy who took over for Billy when he was in LA shooting movies reminds me of "Bob."
I'm sitting here unable to leave my chair in front, of my PC for over an hour laughing at the bloopers, video satires, and especially this fool Jim Carey when he was one of, by far the funniest cast member of " In Living Color " and though, they cancelled the show and he went on to become, a good comedic actor in films nothing can ever replace, the antics of his many characterizations such as the one shown here!

The reason it's so good is because Carrey takes the character absolutely seriously. The maegeri is actually pretty good (just unexpected) and the kata are done with full on intensity.

At my old school, one of the instructors would attack every white belt...he wanted to see if anyone had a natural defense or if they had any kind of skill at all. Totally came out of the blue and showed everyone you are a long way from being able to truly protect yourself or long way off as a white belt
