I love how in Mexico any abuela can just start a taco stand in the front yard. Love that. The spirit of entrepreneurship is alive and well in Mexico.

Mean while in the USSA if a little kid wants to open a lemonade stand, the city comes in full enforcement, does he/she have a permit sir? no they're 7, did you get approval from the health and food administration, did you get zoned for this sir? no, it's lemonade and my kid is trying to learn the ropes of selling and counting money, is your kid paying taxs sir? no, once again they're 7. you're getting fined by the health, food and safety board, your stand is being confiscated and we're going to send CPS to talk with you about proper parenting.

Oh my gosh, thanks a lot for making this one! everything you said here is so true, and one of the main reasons I left the USA. You're not free at all there anymore, any excuse the cops have top puill you over and make your life miserable they will do! And it almost never ends with these people, if it's not one thing with them it's another thing, and man o man you do not want to be caught up in the US legal system, they will drain you dry of every single last penny you have brother. Just one little caveat to something you sad, I've noticed the seatbelt thing is not enforced in all staters in Mexico, in fact in some states in Mexico you can actually have 10 dude's riding in the back of a pick up Truck and no one cares, or 4 people crammed into the back of a cab where there's only two seat belts lol. Some American's complain of cops in Mexico shaking them down for made up stuff, but I've personally only ever noticed this in the Rivera Maya and Tijuana areas, and I've been all over Mexico, 5 major cities, 3 popular expat designations, 10 pueblo magicos, north, south, east, west, you name it and 8 out of a 10 chance I've either been there or driven through the area, unless it was some far off the beaten path town or something. In the US however you'll get pulled over for a busted tail light, the cop will smell your car for alcohol or weed (better hope you don't have any) and check to make sure all your stickers are up to date, all from just having the busted tail light! And rights? what rights? you have no rights in the US, you complain about them not respecting your rights they'll call you some kind of sovereign man of the land and lock you up until you realize you have no rights anymore.
@JoseArteagaTravels
@JoseArteagaTravels 5 месяцев назад
Yeah I agree with the seatbelt thing. We got like 10 guys hanging from a pickup truck out here as well. Honestly in this state the shakedowns are for the state so I think he was just looking to give me whatever crappy ticket he could and only found me not wearing my seatbelt and he probably sucked asking for a mordida. Either way I was happy and proud to get my first ticket and the whole experience was actually very plesent. I gave it a 5 star review on yelp 😅

Good luck getting your car back if the cops take it in most states too, there's a thing called civil asset forfeiture now where they can legally take it permanently, no option to pay a fee to get it back or anything, it's just gone.

IT'S A BITCH to get one in Brasil too Have to pass a psych test, writing test, agailty test and an eye test. Took me a week. I can walk into any DMV in the US and walk out with one in 30 minutes
@hoppeanofasgard1365
@hoppeanofasgard1365 5 месяцев назад
@@InMyBrz The US isn't bad, but Mexico is easier to get one, like Jose said, all you have to do is pay a fee and they give it to you. Brasil is a basket case, I know some people think it's free there but it's really not, things like you mentioned, not being able to open up street stand shops without a permit (which they do enforce) and traffic cameras with fully functional ticketing systems are just among as few of the issues I saw there with it. I think you can still bribe cops there to get out of stuff though which is good, but on the other hand I heard life is cheap there, and if a cop isn't willing to do their job you might just find your self in a ditch when you cross the wrong person and there'd be no recourse for that kind of thing your friends or family could get.
@InMyBrz
@InMyBrz 5 месяцев назад
@@hoppeanofasgard1365 WELL, I have lived in Brasil since 2002 off and on and was NEVER STOPPED by any cops. In fact when I see a bunch of them doing a checkpoint, and I have some sodas on me, I give it to them for standing out in the heat and doing their job. The COPS here and the Federal Police are the best here. Know some personally, a lot of them are smart guys and speak english. Yes if you want to sell stuff on the street you need a license, no harm in that. I've seen them shut down people selling strawberries on the street but they don't drag them off to jail like in the US I got 2 tickets in 1 day in Curitiba by cameras. Plus the highways have speed zones where you have to slow down to 50kms or the camera will get you. I have NO problem with any of that. BRASIL is 100% better than the US, part of that it's like the US back in the 60's, they love the US culture here; movies, shows, music etc. Very 'americanized' but not fukked up like the US is today The govt helps out the poor, taxes big businesses, actually taxes the hell out of them, have high quality healthcare and Brasil is much safter in many ways than the US (UNLESS you are running the favelas of RIO, or Salvador or Fortaleza) The south is the safest to be- the European part of Brasil

Y Que Viva La Libertad!

True. Here in Peninsula, Ohio people are getting tickets for rolling stops. Seriously?! I lived in China for 5+ years and saw cops only a handful of times. Yeah it really is insane how most people think that China is more tyrannical than the USA when it actually couldn't be any further from the truth. I remember the biggest shock I had when I visited Cuba many years ago how much control they had over everything and it's citizens. I could not shake off the feeling that it was exactly like the USA minus the access to technology. With that said I would rather visit Cuba again than go back to the USA these days. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. @@JoseArteagaTravels As someone who's actually been to China and know a couple people who live there, I'll say this. It's definitely not that free, There rules are probably about as strict as the US, maybe even a little more in some cases (social credit is a bi*ch), but that being said they don't have the enforcement of the US, they can't go after everyone, and many times don't even try. It sometimes can give the illusion of freedom while you're there, but I don't recommend it as a place to live. By the way, China's system was modeled after the US's, this whole corporate global whatever the hell you want to call, crazy mishmash of socialism and corporatism, it's actually not communist as they say on the news.

That's nothing mate, in the US there was a time I was driving home late at night when I'd already been on the road for 9 hours already, returning from out of state almost 3rd way across the country, and I was a little loopy, not falling asleep at the wheel persay, but just really tiered and not fully aware right, I also had the stereo cranked up almost full blast to make sure I didn't fall asleep. Well, as I was driving down the road a cop had been following me, apparently at one point I was going 11mph over the speed limit, but I didn't pull over because I simply didn't notice him, I was tired, stereo blaring in a pick up Truck that was loaded up in the back didn't see or notice the lights ect, so I just kept going, don't know how long it was, but the cop claimed nearly 7 min, anyways I finally notice the lights and I pull over and this guy comes running out and yells at me to get out of the car with his gun drawn, scariest moment in my life bruh, I was like what the heck did I do because as far as I knew I pulled over as soon as I saw the lights. This cop tried to claim I was evading him or some crap, and almost, ALMOST impounded my car, luckily he believed me when I explained, but man, it was so uncalled for how he acted. If you compare situations like this to the occasional shake down in Mexico, I'll take the shake down!

In México the water at the tap sometimes comes out a little yellowish, and the pressure might not come out at 70 psi or so like it does in the US. That's why you need a tinaco or water tank on the top of your house. You could also spend and put a pressurized system with a high-tech whole house filtration and sterilization system. Everyone needs to buy bottled 5 gallon jugs or boil your water. Everyone knows that you don't drink tap water. City or tap water, I think, has some chemicals added to it but not as much as the states. The water is good for bathing, gardening, and home plumbing but just not for drinking. The advantage is that the cost is much cheaper and I guess a lot less chemicals in the environment. Thank you for your great videos, Jose. I agree that everything,in the US is a big freaking deal, especially now with FJB and his woke agenda. That's why FJB hired 70,000 or so IRS agents with firearms to shake down those that are not with him.

There’s things he say that are true and there’s things that are lies. Like about the stairs. Yes, you build a stairs and if you don’t build it with a permit, they’ll ask you to knock it down, but they won’t put you in jail like he said, I have a home here and I have build stuff on my land and they just come and they tell me you have to take it down or go get a permit and that’s about it so I don’t know what country he’s talking about because of Mexico shit happens too. also, Mexico Vet building something don’t ask for money so he’s a little bit dramatic. I hear him like he throws up the United States a lot because he was kicked out and maybe he’s angry inside. I don’t know the real reason but I’m not judging him. in every country, they have rules, depending where you live. If you live in the rich area, you have to pay taxes of Mexico. you don’t pay taxes, if The land was given by the government. Depending what area you’re in. They won’t mess with the poor people I love Mexico and I don’t rent I have heard of the areas I have been to did pay to thousand pestles. for the rent in a lot of areas. I’ve been to a lot of tourist areas also. but that part he says about the park if you start cleaning the park and stuff like that, that is true if you put money into our meter, so a person won’t get a ticket they’ll put you in jail. But building some thing they’ll come to you and tell you to knock it down or they’ll give you a ticket but they won’t put you in jail unless it’s a commercial company that is scamming people. I seen dogs taking crops everywhere here in the United States so that’s a little extreme. this guy is hilarious. Cubans are like that coming from a Cuban family they make little things really big when they explain it. No you cannot drive a golf cart in a public area. That’s why it’s called a golf cart. You drive it in the golf area. It’s not considered a car.lol you really mad? with the United States? Lol that’s what happens when you live in the United States in a city they have to clean the street. I wish they were clean the streets in Mexico. There’s a lot of areas it is completely dirty and smelly. There’s so many smells. You don’t know where it’s coming from and those fires burning everything because they don’t want to put the stuff in the garbage. And when you drive in Mexico, they stop you all the time. If it’s not one thing, it’s another… I drove from Texas all the way to Acapulco and they stopped me like 100 times I ask myself what now what do they want? I have insurance and I also have a drivers license. The trip was playing torture. But when I got to Acapulco, everything changed it was calm beautiful the way it should be but I lost a lot of money on the way there. Everyone wanted to tax as for money. I will never drive to Mexico again. It was just most excruciating moment for me and he should talk about other real things that are going out to Mexico and he doesn’t talk about.

You'd literally have to go back to 1975 USA to have the type of freedom you have in Mexico today, and even in those times they could still call you up for a draft as was shown in the 60s, so your "freedom" was always contingent on the whim of those in power even then. Mexico seems like its the freest place in the world until you realize just how hard it is to get and keep guns, and the incredible pain it is just to get ammo for said gun the legal way. To make matters worse even if you do jump through all those hoops you still can't drive around with it, and you can't have it on your person unless you're a hunter. Which hey the last one is nieghther here nor there for me personally, I'm not the type to think I need one at all times on my side to feel protected, but hey in the US in half the states that's allowed either without or with very minimal paper work.

The people in Mexico keep the Mexican Gov in Check constantly and there tons of guns out here in Mexico in case that said Gov gets a bit too powerful. After living here for 6 years I actually dont mind the laws simply because the people themselves are constantly defending their freedoms and the more rural you go the more guns you'll see which are used for their own protection. Also the Mexican Constitution permits guns, it is just all these laws that restrict them. So with that said Mexico has a strong 2nd amendment type of situation they just dont feel the need to be packing all the time. And this is with Cartel running around the whole country packing heat. So yeah it really begs the question how "Safe" The USA actually is despite everyone having a gun. This is great topic to discus one day on the channel but long story short the real reason for guns is to protect oneself from the GOV and out here the people have more power than the GOV does so it actually works out just fine. I love you and your channel man, but I just don't get it. If it's the case most people don't have guns, or even just have one gun as is allowed in the constitution for home protection, but have very limited ammo just as the result of constantly having to make the track to Mexico city to buy bullets I just dont get it. Why would the Mexican government who has tons of solders who display full on assault rifles with nearly unlimited access to ammo, be afraid of people with just a single pistol per person and very little ammo? If you can better explain these things, I probably would change my mind. Maybe I'm missing something, but until then, it just isn't adding up.

@JoseArteagaTravels How do the people keep the government in check though Jose, how do they maintain that balance and keep their freedom? I love you and your channel man, but I just don't get it. In Mexico, they have solders and sometimes even police with fully automatic weapons and a nearly endless supply of ammo. Why would they fear people that have at most one pistol for the home and very minimal ammo since they have to go to Mexico city all the time to get it? Maybe if you could better explain this to me I'd change my mind on it, but for now, it doesn't make much sense.

@@NeonAnimeDreams If you live in Mexico then you will know how the people keep the peace. They constantly revolt against authority out here and always outnumber them. Thats how they people are in control. In The USA the police are militarized and the citizens are conditioned to live in FEAR. In Mexico it is the complete opposite. Look I am not not trying to convince you or anyone out there. If you think the USA is a better place to live then you can live there happily ever after. I live in Mexico and I have traveled throughout Mexico and I feel 1000% Safer here than I ever did in the USA. It might just be me and millions of others who feel this way. Just like you and millions of others feel much safer in the USA it is all a matter of choice and freedom is subjective to many people. So again not trying to argue, we can just agree to disagree. I personally prefer living in Mexico and Feel Safer here as do many other people.

@JoseArteagaTravels Fair enough, and yes you're right the police are militarized in the US, I got the same vibe when seeing these federal officers with big guns riding around in pick up trucks in Mexico too though. But I've followed you enough to know that the attitude of police in Mexico is totally different than the US and maybe that makes all the difference. I will consider what you said and continue to learn. Thanks
