What did you guys do for work before transitioning to boat life?

@stevemarsh9012 Actually I'm in the process of making the final transition to the "boat life" ....I'm a firefighter with 24 months to retire, and I'm using this time to stabilize our situation here. Step 1 ....get a slip ...done Step 2 ... get a houseboat in it ...done Step 3 ... build a RU-vid channel... working on it... It all takes planning and support and we are doing good so far. The channel keeps growing with support, and we are just enjoying the journey!

@@stevemarsh9012 YOUR SPOT ON !! Actually....Leslie (MAMMABUSHWACKER) and I were literally just talking about that. I know our story is inspiring, I just want to break our (story/journey) in a way that the channel is big enough to reach and hopefully actually motivate people to direct there own life to persue there dreams. Thank you for the insight. I'm learning every day and looking forward to where this takes us! Our videos are sometimes simple, but very real. That is what we want the viewers to see.

Great question. Absolutely! Having the extra space would be fantastic. We don't plan on traveling far with this boat. A sandbar trip here or there would be great but not long travel. Thanks for watching. Stay blessed

We purchased ours a few years ago, but I believe rent runs around $1000 - $1200 monthly.

we did tint them and it made a very small temperature change...outside shades of some kind is the only way to make a difference in windows that get direct sunlight

We are both still working. I'm a realtor and will continue to be after complete transition to water living. He is a firefighter with 24 months left before retirement. We go back and forth from our primary residence to the Keys as often as possible. We've been coming for 20 years and the rental prices skyrocketed so we decided to search another avenue. She is a 1986 36 ft Holiday Mansion Baracuda coastal cruiser. Twin inboard/outboard motors that barely run. Future project will be to repower with twin outboards (140 hp each) on a dive platform.
