You are such a huge source of inspiration for me. I have a huge respect for your approach to yoga and how you overcame such scrutiny as a "bad yogi". In order to truly practice, you have to follow what's in your heart... No matter what anyone says. I can very much relate to this and it's encouraging to me to see someone else following their paths despite obstacles and road blocks.

Thank you for sharing yourself so openly and authentically. I love this message and since I joined the yoga gives back challenge this June and started focusing on my practice in a new and more forgiving loving way, I can feel the changes slowly taking place. I feel more happy with my body and I'm appreciating my strengths more than I'm frustrated by my weaknesses. I love to see and feel the growth as I continue practicing and how the self confidence sort of spills over in my everyday life. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Kino! on the subject of skin... my boyfriend read that yoga can help cure some skin disorders (such as psoriasis), and, as long as he practices daily, he has been practically cured! Interestingly, the ads that are shown before each of your yoga video is about a chemical drug that can help deal with this autoimmune disorder. I think a cool thing to share would be that yoga does in fact beyond any doubt in my mind help cure your body of these types of ailments. Stay being as awesome as you are :-) The messages you spread are powerful and pure

This fantastic message hit me exactly at the right time. I share your belief that yoga is for every body - tall, short, thin, not thin, young, old...I really believe it deeply. Nevertheless, I catch myself with negative self-messages about being too old, too heavy, too weak, etc. Despite a regular practice, including Primary Series, I can't help but notice I'm the only one in the room unable to step through, lift up, etc. When I start to feel bad, it helps to remember that I stepped far enough --- for today --- and I lifted high enough for today, too. Tomorrow may be different because I will be different. I remember a video in which you said something about your teacher telling you to 'work harder', or 'try harder' - something like that. I remind myself of that when certain asanas or transitions are difficult. The real key is as you said - just show up on the mat. The rest will come in time. So thank you for this wonderful video. I will watch it often. I really touched my heart.

My gosh! You have the perfect body. I don't know how anybody could've said those things to you. Thanks for sharing. Your message is inspiring. Lack of self acceptance causes so many deeper issues within people.

Thank you for this fantastic message! so simple and so true, our tendency is to look always for the flaws in us. Mind shift from criticizing to loving is so important, it takes time BUT is achievable! I have been practicing Bikram for over a year now and at the beginning same thoughts were going thru my mind: cannot do it. After first class and seeing who was attending it, i realized I can do it. The variety of people at the mat (all ages, all physique body types) made me understand the limitation is only in my mind. Showing up to the mat and doing it and focusing on the little advances in postures I was able to make each time erased the mind limitations and helped me to shift my focus on believing I can do it and there is no stopping me. I feel really proud of myself for being able to sustain the heat, calm my mind and breath and make the postures at my best each time. The feeling of accomplishment at the end of the class is amazing and worth of every drop of sweat. My goal for 2019 is to learn the principles of head - hand stand, strengthen my upper body to be able to sustain the posture. I'm 6.3 tall and yes have the fear still in me that I'm too tall for it, but I'm also set in my mind i can do it and will be practicing to make it happen. I discovered your videos and loving them so very much. Using them for my practice and preparing my body for the postures. Thank you so much for all the content you are putting out for us, it makes the practice easy.

Kino! This is exactly what I needed today! Sometimes I hate the way I look or sometimes it's deeper than that and I hate the decisions that I made. But thank you for reminding me to love myself no matter what. Thank you for reminding me that I am a Devine creation and I should rejoice. Thank you for this inspiration.

You are amazing and this video and the depression one have changed my life and inspired me to turn from a couch potato to a new yogi! Thank you for all of your inspiring videos! Please keep making more for me to fall in love with yoga and change my life! Ya know I'll also tell you that this morning I prayed that God would help me fall in love with yoga today because I need it so badly for my health and then I came across your videos and the depression one was what I watched first and when you said that yoga made you feel whole that is what clicked in my heart and I thought ok I want that and I'm ready to jump in with both feet and be committed to doing this everyday now so that my life can get better so I just wanted to share that with you and say thank you and after watching this video now I know that I can be comfortable starting my journey even though I'm overweight and now I'm excited to get healthier! Thank you for everything you said in this video! Have a very blessed life!

What a wondrous speech! I think exactly same as you in relation with the acceptance of your own body, and I have realized with the practice of Yoga how I came to LOVE and Accept my body. And by the way, I think you are one of the most beautiful and interesting women that I have had the opportunity to see! But only it's important what you just think about yourself, it's hard to believe the comments some women have done to you, so shallow! But you just irradiate a shine and a total fluidity in your movements and gestures, in my humble opinión, I feel you realized. Thanks for your energy, your teachings and the intents for help us in the path of Yoga, and in life, to fight against our own insecurities, above all coming for such a woman like you, that I admire so much, I love your humility and simplicity. Namasté 🙏 And thanks. Love you ❤️ My best regards 🙏🐾🙂

Oh Kino! I LOVE this! I feel compelled to write, even though I don't really know what to say. I was going to mention my own struggles with accepting my body, but I really just want to hang on to the lovely spirit of your message. I absolutely agree with everything you say, and for the first time (I genuinely believe through my recent commitment to a daily yoga practice) I feel in a position to believe you too! I find these "Living the Yogis Life" videos so interesting and pertinent- I look forward to more! Namaste x

You have the most contagious laugh! One of my favourite RU-vid-ers recommended you (Bananablondie108) and she raved about your smile and how adorable and endearing you are. And honestly, in the most sincere form I can muster, when you smile during your practice, it is so endearing. Its motivated me to be more aware of my facial expressions and go out of my way to smile when I'm feeling happy!! Beautiful video :)

So inspiring! I used to weigh about 310 lbs, but after someone helped me discover yoga, I am now 258. I have gone up and down in weight over the years, but I have had bigger than normal thighs all my life. So nice to hear that the yogi on the most viewed yoga channel on youtube has a similar body type to mine! When I was in great shape in 2006, people often told me I had very broad shoulders. I bet once I get back down to what I was then, 180 lbs, it will be the case again. The person who introduced me to yoga also told me that I was not suited for astanga. I agree with you though Kino. It is good to just try even if you can not do everything.

Cool! I forgot to mention tho that I also used to stare at my thighs and wish they were skinny like a model. I have an inside joke that I have 2 butts, one on the front and one on the back because my thighs look like a butt when I look down at them when my legs are pushing together.
@heavymetaljess_

Same leg experience. I never ever wore shorts or short skirts because I felt like my legs were unattractively large. It wasn't until this year that I have come to release that a lot of people actually wish their legs looked like mine and that my girlfriend thinks they are perfect the way they are. I can't wait until I've come to that point of acceptance where I can wear shorts without worries.

i am 5 feet tall. Hey, i earned that inch in 1990 when i turned 15. HA . Seriously. I think patience with yourself is so important. I have to remember I am not the person who is teaching the class, they have practiced much longer than me. P.S. your body is awesome. I have heavy thigh area too. SO it helps to watch how you move through the poses.
